Saw one comment below about language barrier which is true too (though people can probably survive without good English especially in some places in CA). @Anna Chan Maybe they "discriminate" against you because you are uneducated and you can't even speak English properly. Your written English is painful to read. With your "victim" mentality, anywhere you go, you will not succeed. BTW, Canada is one of the most exemplary and successful democratic countries in the world. If you think otherwise, then you really need to educate yourself and explore beyond your little world.
Once you find yourself a full time job, everything gonna be easy. Stay with the local community as far as possible. You gonna have lot of fun in here. In Hong Kong no-pay overtime is a norm while here overtime hours are your own will. I am now retired after working for almost 20 yrs in Ontario. I enjoy my present job as a baby sitter for my 2 grands. Don't be discourage, life is much easy and enjoyable in here.
I've lived in Montreal, Canada for close to 25 years. Despite the weather (yes, it snows in April here), I love living here. I didn't move to Montreal with my family. I came here alone. Now, I have a stable job, a house, I speak French fluently (on top of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin), and I have a lot of friends, mostly non-Chinese. I daresay I have fully integrated into the local culture and society even though, for nostalgia's sake, I still visit the city's tiny Chinatown from time to time (for food) and I still care about what's happening in Hong Kong (not so much the popular culture there). My suggestion to those who want to move to Canada: if you want to completely transplant your lifestyle from Hong Kong to here (e.g. still watching all those shitty TVB shows and just hanging out with fellow Hongkongers and speaking Cantonese ALL THE TIME), then I suggest you not to leave Hong Kong at all. But if you are open-minded, want to become a citizen of the world, and appreciate the simple things of life, then Canada may suit you. (FYI though, I left Hong Kong for England when I was very young, and afterwards I lived in the U.S. for quite a long time as well before coming to Canada, so I am not your "typical" Hong Kong immigrant.)
I don't feel the weather is cold at all! The weather in Vancouver is excellent and the weather in Toronto is also excellent in March to November, only a little bit cold in Dec to Feb, but wearing a down jacket makes you comfortable. On the other hand, Hong Kong is much too hot now, hard to bear with !

1. Loneliness - There are tons of Chinese people in Toronto and Vancouver, and there are many Chinese restaurants. If you can't make friends in here, that's your problem. 2. High Taxes - I agree HK has lower taxes compare to Canada, but Canada has better social programs and health care system than HK. At least, you don't have to worry about retirement after 65 unlike the people from HK. 3. Cultural differences - Why do you care about LGBT when you don't live in that community? If you don't like them, then stay out. LGBT is everywhere including HK. 4. start from the beginning - It is not that hard to find a good job, you just need to do research and find a way to get back into your field. I know there are tons of Mainland Chinese and Indian who are working in their field and make decent income. Again, you won't be successful if you only stay in your bubble. 5. Weather - Weather is pretty decent in Canada compare to HK. less air and water pollution, and you won't get heat stroke during summer. 6. Avoid people from Mainland China - THOSE PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!!! THIS IS YOUR DUMBEST REASON NOT TO MOVE TO CANADA.
Heaps of them just return to HK soon after they get a passport. The downside you mentioned about Canada could be the upside to some people as they just wanna live a simple life with peace and quiet like me. And there're always some suburbs with much less Chinese which is even better for the cheaper houses. There'll be much more people coming from HK during this political chaos including those asylum seekers.

The same when I went to HK, Taiwan or USA.......but it depends on how young you came to Canada. If you came to Canada when you were less than ten years old, then you shouldn't have problem. 六个喜欢加拿大🇨🇦的理由:第一，结婚生孩子前，喜欢国内的热闹，结婚生孩子后，更享受加拿大🇨🇦式的家庭乐。喜欢💕一家人👨👩👧👧简单舒心过日子的感觉。第二，国内大专学历，没关系，英语很一般，但在温哥华，靠自己努力，几年内已经安居乐业。在国内，赚大钱也轮不到我们这些阶层的人。第三，太喜欢温哥华的天气。以前在国内广州，春天南潮天气，整个房都湿漉漉。夏天一天到晚，一出门都是汗流浃背。秋天又经常台风，并且依然好热。冬天，那种湿冷，冲凉🚿后简直冻到发抖。但温哥华，来了十年，从没开过一天空调，每天最热只开3周风扇就够了。不运动时，从来没有出汗。冬天，温哥华最冷就零度左右。但一件短袖+一件羽绒服，就可以过冬。室内全部有暖气，根本一点都不觉得凉。第四，不管贫穷富贵，每个人都能平等享受免费医疗。不像在国内，一场大病，就全家破产，欠债累累。第五，儿童福利，好到你想不到！牛奶金从出生🐣发到18岁，政府帮你养孩子。政府补贴托儿费一大半。第六 ，这里不管你是服务员，还是金融主管，没有人看不起你，你也根本不用管别人，只需努力工作，过好自己的生活。没了国内那种死要面子，相互攀比心理，人活的开心自在多了。

加拿大尤其是溫哥華已經是最好嘅選擇，例如我媽媽唔識英文一樣生活了20多年沒問題，去醫院可以要求翻譯，護士醫生態度超好，仍然過香港的生活模式，非常多港式酒樓和荼餐廳，當然前題是你要手上有點錢，不能一窮二白，但這邊福利好，許多地方比香港優勝，尤其是香港已經變晒質，再不是97前的香港。
注意現在中共在加拿大搞統戰宣傳，拉攏華人親共，令非華人討厭。

我在加拿大回來的，其實我覺得加拿大讀書很好 但是我媽咪不喜歡加拿大，因為媽咪常常說，在加拿大常常揸車，去那都要揸車，去買菜，去買書，去玩，去醫病，去上班上學，去喝茶，去吃飯，去游水，去慶祝，去公園都要揸車，總之去那個地方都是也要揸車，她覺得很麻煩，所以我中學畢業後就回來了

我也曾移民加拿大，對此話題有點感受。
第一點寂寞不一定，看你怎樣去開展生活。我在加拿大時不感寂寞，如說生活，反而感覺生活憂悠又自在!可以主動去識朋友呀 - 上教會，唸書進修，考本地專業資格，上興趣班，串門子，與同事多點交往去輔助新移民的機構 ....，就可以慢慢認識新朋友。今個周末一起駕車去這個那個town，下個星期去那個朋友家pot luck, 聚會，下下個星期要温書準備考試，大多數時候都是過得充實又自在!
其他的五點雖然說得很中肯，但看你怎樣rating，可能你移民的其中一個好處已足以彌
補其他五個/其中幾個缺點，頹喪中又存挑戰和希望!這全是看個人的value及選擇!但心態必須因此而調整，努力為自己增值(本地值)，嘗試去欣賞和融合本地生活，這是必須的!選擇移民的朋友，加油 and Good luck!
所以其實呢段係反話，你識欣賞或者接受，移民加拿大其實就唔係咩痛苦事，甚至生活快樂

及已經考取G1 及G2 出年考堆最后G牌才大功告成， 加拿大考車牌真的不容易
我教你點考, 好容易, rush hour去考車, 有咁塞車得咁塞車時候考road test, 一定過

的確如果喺唔同嘅觀點與角度，佢嗰六個要點，起碼有四個其實係優點！

1. Loneliness - There are tons of Chinese people in Toronto and Vancouver, and there are many Chinese restaurants. If you can't make friends in here, that's your problem.
2. High Taxes - I agree HK has lower taxes compare to Canada, but Canada has better social programs and health care system than HK. At least, you don't have to worry about retirement after 65 unlike the people from HK.
3. Cultural differences - Why do you care about LGBT when you don't live in that community? If you don't like them, then stay out. LGBT is everywhere including HK.
4. start from the beginning - It is not that hard to find a good job, you just need to do research and find a way to get back into your field. I know there are tons of Mainland Chinese and Indian who are working in their field and make decent income. Again, you won't be successful if you only stay in your bubble.
5. Weather - Weather is pretty decent in Canada compare to HK. less air and water pollution, and you won't get heat stroke during summer.
6. Avoid people from Mainland China - THOSE PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!!! THIS IS YOUR DUMBEST REASON NOT TO MOVE TO CANADA.

Nobody is certain that they can live longer than 65! What if you have a stroke and can't drive a car for your grocery?

喺中国就人太多，广州地铁想死人，喺加拿大就人太少。。。。。。以前舅父惊表弟喺加拿大学坏，之后发现完全唔使担心，因为人都冇几个。。。。。。
過生活不是就是安靜 不煩忙。 你想看到一堆人就去住downtown 。

不如講吓六大理由點解留喺加拿大仲好啦，每個地方都有佢好同埋唔好，最重要係自己需要啲乜嘢，相信你當初過嚟加拿大嘅時候都係尋求緊自己需要嘅嘢，見你住嘅屋都非常之唔錯，換轉在香港，就唔會有咁樣嘅居住質素
其實搵到啲工作認識下啲新朋友心情開朗啲唔好想太多加拿大都係一個好地方同埋加拿大人都好友善就算你英文講得唔係太好佢哋都唔會太介意的

Heaps of them just return to HK soon after they get a passport. The downside you mentioned about Canada could be the upside to some people as they just wanna live a simple life with peace and quiet like me. And there're always some suburbs with much less Chinese which is even better for the cheaper houses. There'll be much more people coming from HK during this political chaos including those asylum seekers.

Haha.....you are right. I totally agree. Adjustment to the change of environment is not going to be easy. Everything must started from square one again. The same when I went to HK, Taiwan or USA.......but it depends on how young you came to Canada. If you came to Canada when you were less than ten years old, then you shouldn't have problem. Of course, it depends on your family/education background also.
I survive in Siberia. Canada is a piece of cake !

其實去到邊都好多中國人啦，避唔到嘅！因華人最鍾意移民。
不過呢度係一個多元種族又多元文化的地方，移民來的大多是華人丶印巴丶南亞丶南美丶墨西哥丶中東丶東歐丶俄羅斯～等，各有獨特文化，有時華人初來住返華人區會易適應D，住久了再搬離。
佢地仲要話中國最好，但又要想盡辦法immigrant 去其他國家
有机会我也去温哥华看看，自从移民德国后，觉得这里安稳的家庭生活还是很舒服的，尤其人慢慢中年后，这里更人性化的大环境和健全的保障，使人越来越深的体会到那种实实在在是幸福感。这里是没有国内那么热闹，这里人也没有国内那种赚钱不惜牺牲一切的劲头，大家都是平稳安逸的工作，照顾家和旅游。做生意需要有足够的创新和管理能力，德国人做事细致，讲究系统规范，且营销方式要符合德国人敏感的心理。如果入职做普通员工，那在这里可实现的基本生活也是很令人满意的，花园别墅好车，周游世界，医疗养老无后顾之忧。
