CBS treated Ms. Herridge in an awful way. Catherine thought Fox was bad until she went to CBS. I always enjoyed her reporting however, it has become extremely dangerous to be an honest reporter with Biden in the Whitehouse.

The problem with legacy journalism is the complete lack of the standards of fairness, accuracy and impartiality. Most new outlets are agendized and politicized and, as a result, the public largely despises the media.

I have a precedent setting 1st Amendment case with my name on it in Texas which has dragged on for TEN YEARS. I self-described as an activist when this started, these days my work is almost 100% to do with journalists - leak evaluations, security concerns, and the like. Pushing this through makes all of us safer and I'm glad Catherine got the backing needed to straighten CBS out. Given how they conducted themselves anyone thinking of talking to a journalist is going to just skip that outlet - they're flaky as heck, demonstrated that very clearly.
Repeal the"Patriot Act"and dissolve "Homeland (in)Security".
Journalists should have absolute protection as long as they are reporting the truth facts not opinion if you lie or knowingly tell a lie you need to be held accountable
So legislation will protect reporters. So what? Who controls what gets published or broadcast? NOT the reporters. And Ms. Herridge, this is NOT a "democracy" it's a Republic. Someone as smart as you and with attention to detail like you have should make that distinction.
The issue comes down to "with malice" or "with absence of malice" which is difficult to prove.

Why do they have to keep creating laws for laws that are already laws. If you have judges, AG etc, who are not honoring the laws creating more laws to enforce those laws is not going to make a differences. To be honesty this is not only looking bad, but it's becoming very destructive!

I think about the parallel of California trying to force the Catholic Church to have priests share information from the confessions of parishoners. Same effect of discouraging participation in the sacrament from some people and a more profound impact for those who follow the Catholic faith.
