Yes the green black snail from spungebob Golgary
When I started to play commander (about 3-4 years ago) I had a hard time reaching 99 cards...
Now I always have to cut 20-30 cards xD
And here I am comfortably getting to about 200 cards
It's the opposite for me, my early deck I wanted to put so many things into my deck that I would end up with 50 extra cards, over time I've gotten better a judging weather or not to put something in my deck in the first place.
@@z-mashupz8069 It's been a rollercoster for me. Have been playing on and off for over 20 years. As a beginner back then, of course, lots of missteps and too much jank in my decks because it was shiny. Also understanding that your 60 card deck should be 60 cards, not 65 or whatever.
Then commander got popular and I returned to play magic and I just didn't have all that many cards to support one theme for singleton 99 card decks because my collection was a bunch of playsets of certain cards and it felt like I didn't have anything to put into my decks. Like on the extreme end, even in Casual I might play 24 lands and 36 spells, 4 copies each, meaning I'd have 9 different Spells in my deck. And now I'm supposed to make decks with like 60-70 non-land cards? While my collection was always pretty deep with several thousands of cards, WotC just went ULTRA power creep in their creature designs invalidating a huge chunk of my collection, to the point that a once over the top powerful card like "Spirit Monger" (6/6 for 5 WITH upside was INSANE in 2001) is now an ... okay drop but probably doesn't even make it into many deck-lists anymore.
Only after a couple of ... uh.... shopping sprees over the years am I again in the fortunate position of having to make hard decisions about which cards to cut because for any given theme/commander/color combo there are now more "must plays" than there are available slots.
I still play Skyshroud Claim in my green decks, but for Golgari sacrifice themes I replace it with Primal Growth, which I think is a card people have forgotten about despite it getting lands into play untapped.
Man, it's such a good card for kicker tribals as well. Verazol ramps A LOT with it, even sacrificing a land
My Korvold deck has been loving it for years. And now I also put Primal Growth in my new Myrkul deck (which I'm still tuning).
would be a great ramp spell for my kathril deck...
costs 3. harrow works better i think
Golgari was the first Commander deck I made. SlimeFoot, The Stowaway was my commander and the deck focused on saproling token creation and the sacrificing the tokens to damage my opponents
When I got into commander, Slimefoot was one of my favorite legendaries. And man, he's a beast if built well. He can have an almost non-interactible board from the sheer amount of sacrifices and drains.
I love playing slimeboi, if he works right he's almost unstoppable
I love the versatility of golgari charm. And journey to eternity is life insurance that becomes repetitive recursion
Wow, really surprised Pernicious Deed was not mentioned. It's an incredible boardwipe and is not very expensive (like $5). Like Toxic Deluge, if you have the biggest thing on the board you can make sure it survives, and you will often get 5, 6, or more permanents when you blow it up.
Great video. Golgari is my favorite color combo. It surprises me that do much of your decks are made up of staples though. 25-30 staples, 35-38 lands, and 1 commander only leaves 32-39 cards for your deck theme. I prefer to focus on the theme and use staples to fill in the gaps that my deck doesn't handle well.
For example, instead of Cultivate, I might play Grisly Salvage.
Often these 'on theme' alternates are less powerful is less reliable but this helps me keep my decks at a casual power level and makes each of my decks feel different from each other.
Wow 38 lands? Really? My land count is 33 across the 8 decks I have, and it's the perfect number. The game is way to fast and efficient for so many lands, at least for my group and decks.
@Fearthelettuce thats what i love in EDH ^^ Just build a unique and interesting deck to have fun. There is no need for always maxed Decks which looks mostly the same :)
@@BardtheHowler I have a player in my playgroup who builds his decks like that and I see him like every third game struggling getting his lands.
I kinda feel bad playing early Boardwipes that kill rocks 😅.
@@leonfriedemann9151 I don't really even run rocks much anymore honestly, so that's not a super big issue in my group. I keep my average mana curve topping out at 3 with maybe 2 or 3 cards at 4+. Most of my ramp, if I run any at all, is either mana dorks or land auras. Also depends on color/s of course. There is a giant amount of 1, 2, and 3 mana spells and bodies that say draw a card. That's how I build now. I'll pay that mana to draw a card, and get a dude or some effect. I churn through my decks getting draws, and I mostly play at the end step of the player before me. It's all the value, and you don't have to really use spell ramp or rocks. I just find all that or tons of lands in the deck to be highly inefficient.
@@BardtheHowler topping out at 3 accualy makes a hard difference, plus your deckbuilding strategy 🤔 pretty interesting stuff
I believe that Putrefy is a fine budget card. Sure there are many better options as well many despicable ones
Elves of Deep Shadow is a great Golgari card for ramp.
Big fan of Golgari Charm, primarily for the regenerate, but the enchantment removal is also great, and the flexibility to hose tokens can come in handy.
Fiend Artisan is one of my personal favorites. It's easy to cast because it's only a 2 drop and both its pips are golgari hybrid mana. Its almost always going to be bigger than a 1/1, especially if you're doing graveyard stuff or sacrificing creatures. And it let's you cast pretty much any creature in your deck for 1 extra mana. Insanely useful in pretty much any golgari deck.
As a long time golgari fan, starting with the start of my magic career in fact, I thank you so much 😊
I love Casualties of War. I run it in every deck that can run it, even 5c with the BBGG in the casting.
in the ramp section you forgot to mention Sakura tribe elder and diligent farmhand, both ramp you on turn 2 and put themselves in your graveyard to use.
He didn't forget it. He specifically said that he will be concentrating on cards that are both green AND black because most people know the mono colored options of each color very well and he'd just end up repeating himself for every video covering any color combination that's part green.
Really enjoyed watching this episode, I miss the price showings though
@championchap yes but I generally watch his videos as they come out... note 4 weeks ago I commented this. knowing if something is going to be around 20 dollars or 20 cents has relevance to me taking interest in the cards.
I would love to see the Decklist from your Iname as One deck. It looks so interesting and different and that is what i Love :)
all my decks are on my channel: ruclips.net/video/weMk9bJ6B1A/видео.html

is a criminally underrated card for budget decks.
im really surprised you didnt bring up any of the amazing lifegain golgari has. wotc has been pushing non white lifegain recently and i think its way more interesting, especially with commanders like dina, savra and even willowdusk
yes but that's not an auto-include in every golgari deck, just the lifegain themed ones.
Working on my Beledros list, love seeing a bunch of cards that usually don't see play.
Gotta say, Selesnya, Golgari, and Simic are probably my favorite color spreads. To the point that my strongest non-EDH deck was a Simic hybrid beatdown/control.
That said, for EDH, I prefer a tri-color deck of Green/Black/White. All the removal except bounce, either boat loads of tokens or huge monsters (or both), draw and tutoring, ramp, Life gain and life pay. all sorts of good stuff.
i play a pernicious deed to facilitate destroying all these tokens and smaller cmc stuff as well. if i didnt need to destory anything i can still just play it and play big cmc stuff and stop opponents from playing small cmc stuff.
Mortality Spear could be in that list
I use Gaze of Granite to destroy all Sol Rings, Mana Crypts, Treasures and Dorks. Then I play any of those cards from my hand after
Grim Feast should be a staple since it offers reoccurring life gain for each opponents' creature that dies.
Treasured Find is a one use two mana sorcery get back what you want from the graveyard.
Journey to Eternity for a more creature build, as a creature aura that comes back as a land that can revive your creature from the graveyard.
Would like to see one of these for 5 color decks or a new series on tribal decks
It's funny I just made a reanimator deck with Old Stickfingers, then I find this video. Just bought assassin's trophy and a couple others to replace stuff i bought already.
Boros is the best two color combo for removal in my humble opinion
love watching thes videos you allways have grate advice for commander Bild .
I like plying with Life//Death for extra reanimate or attacking an empty board with my lands
I already use most of these in my Dina deck, but Rushed Rebirth and Maelstrom Pulse look promising.
Huh looks like a cool video. Perhaps it's time to revisit this series and update it? Maybe after Foundations?
maybe
I saw Creakwood Liege and only thought : Soul Foundry.
Hey, I have a Yavimaya Elder from my very first booster pack! Not an elf unfortunately.
I need this I'm about to make an old stickfingers deck
hi, there i am planing on make a wilson the bear with the cultis background voltron deck
Best ramp for reanimator decks is burgeoning great for meren or muldrotha.
Good cards here. I did notice though that it seems this video is different than the others. The others are staples you put in your decks while this video you flipped between saying cards you use, and then others cards that you dont like deathrite shaman. Just a bit of confusing messaging I think.
i realized that i would be repeating myself alot in these videos, so i decided to add in as many card that i could that wouldn't be included in other lists.

Golgari is super busted if you know how to work with your graveyard.
That's why I run an Anafenza, the Foremost deck lol
Dinner is definitely Canadian
I still don’t know what is going on in the art of Abrupt Decay.
an izzet machine decaying in an abrupt fashion lol
It's one of the izzet cyclops
I don't use Farhaven elf wood elves is better cause it gives u untapped lands, cultivate and kodamas reach are meh as well cause your lands come in tapped I use harrow sure it makes you sac a land but its worth getting two basics untapped cause if you need more gas the untapped lands are great it helped me in so many situations also puetrify is still a good card I use it I personally dont care for assassins trophy cause it gives you opponent a land which is bad
Cool
High market better
Don't sleep on Dig Up. B/G tutor for anything.
This is my favorite card in golgari. Goes in every deck and no one ever mentions it. Cleave cost isn’t a problem in green.
