‘Soul Makossa’ was one of the first songs by an African to gain global popularity 🌍. Its influence has been nothing short epic. From being used in a 1973 Italian comedy 🇮🇹 to a 2009 Baskin Robbins commercial 🍦 to countless tracks across several genres 💽.

Wow! Watching this was satisfying. Proudly African.
This is a great tribute to one of Africa's legends 🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲
🇨🇲African Legend! R.I.P Mouna Sawa. 🕊🙏🏿🧡🇨🇲
It's all African, the whole genre is African. Afro latinos, Afro Caribbeans and Afro americans are African descendants in the Americas. It's a simple case of cross cultural diffusion
Those who say Cameroonians don't make good music should watch this and rinse their ignorant brains a little. Maybe then they'll realize how much impact our artists have had on music WORLDWIDE for decades. Don't let our governmental negligence of local talents fool you, we make bangers!
Exactly!
That's right Chief! From India here and I can proudly say that I properly listened to the original before realising how much his music has impacted music even in the genres to come!
What is killing our country is the bad governers.... Cameroon got real talent
Cameroon so much talent and gift , we pray this gift touches politicians as well🙏🇨🇲
I had the chance to saw him live.
Awesome!!
Too bad most people don't sing the famous line correctly. Even so, we don't mean any harm. There is great respect for the creator of this wonderful music 🎵🎶
He is one of the greats for sure, he's a bad ass, awesome amazing man every time i here his music i get up and dance. #1 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bango was just James brown Africa legender this is Cameron music roots crafts ritmo is time for Cameron's to wake up and Tracey bango roots of makosa music to the world. Like fela afro beat to the world. One love from Nigeria

I some how never heard that Kanye song so it was a pleasant surprise.
@@lilsush. in my opinion that’s the most underrated song on mbdtf
loved hearing it on the runaway film
Wow. Good to know
Wow!!! Thank you for this! I had no idea how many people sampled just the drums. Thats incredible.
Legacy! 237
Very cool
It seems as though most of the chants are in reference to Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”, al all of them except Milli Vanilli said “Mama Say Mama Sa Mama Coo Sa” instead of the original lyrics which were “Mama Ko Mama Sa Maka Makossa”
And so??
Yes, but it is still his. Its almost the same phrase anyways said in the same tempo.. etc
Thank you for this great tribute to our legend ✊🏾✊🏾
may his soul rest in peace

I hope the original artist, Mr. Manu Dibango was properly compensated from all these samples of his classic piece of music. Out of respect, Michael Jackson or his estate should have contributed something to Mr. Dibango or his family, if they have not already done so.
They say the vocal chant is satanic.
