  • Designed to revolutionize workflows, the new Akai Professional MPC Key 61 introduces more than 6,000 inspiring sounds, a range of must-have virtual instruments and a comfortable, expressive 5-octave keyboard to the legendary MPC platform.
    Let your creativity wander with new instruments like OPX-4, a four operator FM synth with deep, flexible waveshaping and a dual-mode filter path with 23 different filters to choose from. If you’re looking for keys, Stage Piano and Stage EP have you covered. Offering up four beautifully articulated acoustic pianos and five classic electric pianos, these plug-ins give you access to a whole range of sound shaping parameters, including age, mechanics and more, to dial in the perfect sound for your next production. Fabric XL, the flagship of Akai’s growing plug-in library, is built on a powerful multi-sample synthesis engine, with over 1270 presets ranging from pads to basses to keys to all the classic poly and lead synth sounds you could need.
    What more can be said about the MPC’s legendary sequencing and sampling abilities? Having matured over more than thirty years, the quick, intuitive workflow at the core of MPC OS will have you creating immediately. Offering 128 MIDI tracks, 8 plugin instrument and audio tracks and a range of powerful effects, MPC Key 61 is the perfect platform to take your ideas from start to finish. If you’re looking to integrate with other hardware, MPC Key 61’s advanced I/O, which includes 8 dedicated CV/Gate outputs, hooks up to your other gear with ease.
    We invited producer Tim Kelley, previously of Tim & Bob, who’s worked with artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Sisqo and 112, to create a sequence for us and share his first impressions.

      I've been waiting for NI to release something similar, as it seemed like an obvious gap in the market. Would be hard to swallow if it was a 2-bit manufacturer that beat them to the punch, but with Akai MPCs proven track record, this thing looks likely to blow anything else out of the water.

    • @bharumusic
      @bharumusic Год назад +2

      @@seanmatthews5279 I agree! Especially because NI has shown they are capable of doing something like this when they released the standalone MK3+. This thing is taking on workstations! May not come with all the bells & whistles that workstations have, but the sequencing blows them out of the water and the price tag is in the same ballpark as Roland’s Fantom 0 series

Amazing box and I've got mine connected to my Nektar Panorama 61 note MIDI Keyboard via USB (MIDI over USB) and it's also connected via USB to my Zoom Livetrak L-12 Audio Recorder Mixer - which works as a front-end for Mics and a backend to drive a PA System w/ XLR Balanced outputs to amps or powered monitors. First off right away there’s a difference in this video finally somebody that will explain to other people that haven’t dealt with AKia products about the effects and the EQ’s an the mastering that you can do as you go so that when you’re finished with your song your song is actually already finished 😂 all the other videos on RUclips seem to skip over all the sound shaping possibilities that are provided in the MPC X and the MPC 61 keys and basically the AKia format which I think it’s a shame. I mean he laid down the track like everybody else but at least before he did it, he told people about the possibilities in the power in the editing.
    By the way, I gotcha expansion pack. It was pretty dope bro I enjoy using it.

    AKAI has (once again) clearly smashed the preverbial "ball" straight outta the park on this~! The new plugin (v2.11.1) synths from AIR are killer and AKAI already showed us how much functionality can be added to hardware via Firmware Updates and Software Updates. Truly incredible what they did (for FREE) w/ that amazing 2.10 Update back in 2021. Now in 2022, they've brought their cannons loaded! If you are looking for a fantastic recording and composition tool - it doesn't get any better. Native Instruments is probably AKAI's biggest challenger - yet AKAI is definitely out front - by a sizable margin. I've owned NI Maschine for 2 years - then sold it. AKAI approach is just flat-out "better" in my opinion. Lots and lots of value here.

    Certainly for 2000 the price is more than reasonable and should totally make irrelevant all the arranging keyboards at double the price and more. Finally someone makes a keyboard with a full-fledged sampler. They should make a fully weighted version too, most definitely. I can just imagine having that thing with the keboard most of the time split in three instruments as well as drums and vocal samples on the pads. Or gigging with it instead of nord electro for example.
