You might want to check out One Desire. I discovered these guys about two years ago and their stuff is very much in vein of late 80's/early 90's Europe -- probably the closest I know of, to be honest.

One of Europes best songs. Very underrated. From my country came also Roxette and ABBA but for me Europe is always the best band with some unusual sound. Talanted guitar players both Kee Marcello and John Norum.
Idk, but i feel Europe didnt get the same recognition in 90's especially in MTV. I rarely saw their videos in youtube. Not like ABBA and Roxette.
The album that went under the radar, 1992 was a rough year for 80's bands.
