I've actually been considering these coilovers for my mazda 6s. I've watched and read loads of reviews about them and most everyone says the same, the rear just doesn't sit low enough. some people have fixed it by changing the springs on the rear, some by adjusting the dampening, and some say they settle over a few weeks and kinda evens themselves out I guess. Either way for only 200 bucks I'll probably try a set. If not, then maybe cxracing or godspeed. Just not wanting to spend an ass load of money.
eBay coilovers are a hit or miss bought a set couple years ago for 200 dollars and they were amazing no issues my car handle great. with expensive coilers your just paying for the name at the end of the day all coils are made in china.
Those rears, you can also reduce preload on the spring (the other adjustment, the one with the lock ring) to lower it further. You don't want to go so far you have a loose spring, but if you have to you can just buy those flat collapsing helper springs to get around that
I have run them on my 1990 240sx for over a year now at 1in lower then stock in a far north state with bad roads and a dirt driveway they continue to impress me everytime i go for a drive or to a event
i'm definitely building my budget car cause when u have a wife 2 kids bills up the y zoo you cant just go out and buy the big name brands especially when the cheaper versions are just as good as the bigger brands
Yeah my problem is my Mustang is an 06, she's older and her struts are shot. Plus their known for body roll and being boats anyways, so dropping her down and not clunking over the slightest level difference in the road would be nice. I have to do a whole lot of other stuff, so the coilovers are lower down on the list, I just would like to have a little more enjoyable driving experience, while it also looking better.
One user Mr Dennis Robinson? If they replaced the springs perhaps the shocker and strut could also be replaced to achieve a workable combination? These coil overs are useless for daily road driving period.
@@muthamail there are alot of people happy with these coil overs, i suspect certain vehicle models they hit a home run and on others the springs are way too stiff! In the situation I was able to find a guy found a softer spring in the front by 100 lb-in and it made all the difference in the world, better than factory and able to change ride height.
Great video, I recently helped a mate install a set of Maxpeedingrod coilovers on a Lexus is200 and we also came across the same issue that the rear coilovers would only lower by 5mm compared to stock ride height so we tried installing the front shocks in the rear and changed the spring, bottom mount and top hat to make it fit in the rear as the fronts have a shorter shock body and it worked fine. Their not the greatest of coilovers but for $300 they got the car low but it would be worth saving and getting a set of MCA’s
I am really looking at adding coilovers to my 1994 corolla wagon just to add a little weigh capacity to the rear, this will be useful in my research. When I install them I will make a video as well ;) Thanks for this, good job!
He didn't set the preload. Also users found you have to grease the top bearing and where metal touches metal. One guy even changed the spring for one that has less of a spring rate for the perfect ride.

@@NattyVeganLifter Don't, go with something like Truhart. I don't have them myself, but those are in the same family as D2s and are the cheapest I'd go on a G/Z. I'm about to throw on a fresh set of Tien Flex on my 6mt sedan. Mainly went with them because you can add an electronic controller to adjust dampening on the fly from inside the cabin. That's basically a hands down buy for my needs.
Nice review. I bought these for my FB with Fc conversion as temporary so I can take all the measurements, size rims and offset then get custom coilovers and had not seen any reviews. Glad to know they will work decently enough.

Thinking about picking up a set for my na, I ran maxspeeds on my g35 and she was hella slammed regardless. The rear was higher but once it settled after a few she leveled out just nicely. Obviously tossed them and got bcs but I'll give these a shot again lol

Oscar Salazar For the price bud they were worth it, atleast to me. They were a little on the softer side so they were a bit more bouncy than most coils. I’d say if you’re trying to replace blown struts/get low on a budget they’re better than nothing. Had them for like a year before I got bcs
Maxspeedingrods coilovers are garbage I bought a set for my rx7 for $575 6 months later they were $230 I had them on my car for about 3 years now and after two and a half years the front passenger snap cuz the top pillow ball mount locked up and cause the internal bolt to loosen and back off snapping the internal of the coil over they're complete garbage if you're going to go a set at least go with the non dampening adjustability cuz then the internal Rod would be solid not Hollow and for a ride quality and handling they're just like any other set of coilovers you tighten them up they're going to be stiff if you loosen them they're going to be soft I would say I wish the right height adjustability can go down lower
My only guess... and this is a guess... the one side that wasn't cut was to compromise for a night driver... it would all kinda balance out... just a guess

But by all mean's try it ..Oh and by the way Slammed is NOT low .. Could not agree that the MAXpeedingRods are ok for daily ... they produce a harsh bumpy ride on roads that aren't bowling greens. Regret buying mine.

king springs are absolute garbage. i have had a few sets and they were always trash causing crazy understeer and a severe lack of spring rate.
