Bombe habba was a chore for me when I was growing up in Mysuru. The arrangements, the inviting, the fawning "Tumba chennagi koorsideera" (by us and by visiting aunties and their daughters)..uff.
It was just for show...none of the gombes could be played with. Somewhere the original purpose of this habba was lost.
