When my xmaxx use to be stock, i had 20/50 for bashing, and 22/50 for running on the skate park and it was awesome, no temp issues and fast enough to do backflips and in air control. With badlands tires on it.
Totally agree, with stock electronics 20/50 i found overall very good. i did the high speed setup 18/46 and it's awful, you really lose a lot of the fun in the truck because of it.
Just got back from camping in Cloudcroft NM. Took the X Maxx and several other trucks with paddle to run in the dunes at White Sands. Nothing more satisfying that shooting a paddle tire roost of pure white dry sand. Nice vid btw.
i just got my xmaxx today orange version !!!! WOW is it amazing. waiting on my charger and batteries to take it for a rip. any suggestions for me and the xmaxx? thanks
Well, first, go drive it and have fun. Then after that do some mods. Not sure what the biggest pinion is with the stock 54t spur but that would be the easiest way for more speed.
My Xmaxx is bone stock. Bent a shock yesterday on it while bashing. I need paddle tires before next winter as they will work great in the snow! How come all your links do not ship to Canada?
have you figured out what gears your getting on this stock xmaxx? i just got mine and would like to know if i can fit a faster gear without having to by max6 and castel motors cause i just spent alot of money on the truck
just a thought. i heard alot of squeaking. if ya remove bearings pop seals an pack some grease in them that would help. Also a Max 6 helps bump up power a little bit. Thanks for the Entertainment. I love Xmaxx videos
Nice dude. Yeah I believe the highest you can run is 46-26. The truck really needs a gear up for backflips. Question. What servo do you run in your yellow x maxx?
Do you still have the HPI baja buggy? Im looking into one like it, the king motor roller but unsure if its even good as there are no real review vids on it, just a handful of people running it. Wish HPI would re release theirs... The one you had was a real sand monster.
@@ExocagedRC King Motor RC has theirs. RTR and a roller on ebay or cheaper on their site but im unsure if its worth it. i'd link it but dont know if my reply will be ghosted. its the 2017 1/5 evo buggy based on the one you had and the rovans.
If you want to do backflips with the stock xmaxx, just take the wheely bar off. It will do standing backflips all day on 8s. I know, I own 1. I run 8000 mah 100c lipos. Maybe you just need better batteries?
That was, uh, weird and cool at the same time at 4:32. :-) Looking forward to how this goes as well. My X-Maxx is stock and it has a hard time performing a backflip. Would it be easier with the stock tires? Don't want to go HobbyWing on this either. Kinda like it stock.
I love the videos! I like your commentary better than the music. Or maybe turning the music down a little bit? Anyways I'll still watch your videos no matter what. Thanks for the entertainment!
Myself I think of you want to get it faster with stock parts just gear changes then maybe try to trim the oil seal on all the bearings on the drive train this will get you some speed not sure how much but the less riling resistance has to help. Although if you do this to your bearings you will need to keep them lubed with like a tacky oil like chain lube maybe for dirt bike use. Still it would need cleaned after running and flush the bearings as much as possible and reapply tacky oil. This might help to make them last a lil longer but they will fail at some point. It’s all about trail and error. This could be an error. 😂. You got some cool videos out and I mostly enjoy the crawler and rock bouncers. I got a basher to and a Trx4 some mods done. Basher is pieces now needing a new esc.
I’d say 22/46 is as high as I’d go the problem is heat and that 1250 motor sucks compared to the the 1600 vxl 1250 is just to slow 19/50 with the 1600 motor and you’d be happy easy backflips 50ish mph

I have a stock xmaxx that's only ever ran paddle tires, works great
Dude when I put the 20t pin and 50t spur it made a big difference. When my was stock..
20/46 with the stock esc and motor. It's super good in the air . but it gets hot if you run it to hard.

Do not aim it at yourself! LOL!

Not sure, all I know is shipping out of the us is expensive.

It came with the speed gear didn't it?
Traxas esc for xmaxx won't last long hobbywing maxx 6 is the way to go or castle if that's what u want
I ran 20/46 for a while without issues. Temps got a lil warm if I was bashing hard on it.
Okay i'm coming😁
check the esc settings. it could be on trainig mode
The highest Gearing I’ve ran is 22/50 on stock motor and esc and it’s awesome can do backflips and easy to adjust in the air.
Thanks for the info!
What were temps at that gearing?

The speed gearing in my opinion made the difference in control in the air for me.might not be a bad idea to try out.
i guess I am kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good place to stream new movies online?

Did you cut the paddles like it says in the instructions and if so do you recommend it? Thanks!
I simply bolted them on.
No need for that IMO

Anyone know if I can or should vent my duratrax belted tires? Or should I just tape the holes in the wheel and call it good.
I tape or glue mine up.
