yes! This year I've been trying to get rid of the things that give me a looming, dreadful feeling of "what will I do with this?" lol. Whenever I find myself ruminating on things that are only giving me negative vibes/memories, I try to find a new use for it or toss it to avoid falling into the pattern of allowing that stagnation to sit in the environment (or I truthfully will.) If I really can't get rid of it, it goes in a special box for sentimental stuff- out of sight, out of mind until I'm in the mindset to revisit it.
I declutter bit by bit all year round. I have to pace myself as I have a health condition which means I have very little energy. Also I dont make New Year resolutions. My word for this year is 'slow' as I have to put my health first. I dont have any goals (shock, horror). I am tired of seeing vloggers banging on about how we all need to have goals. I understand we need to have goals for our work especially if we are self- employed but its become an obsession. I am 68 and just appreciating life and Nature and living in the present. I am not stiving any more. In Buddhism the striving for more all the time is the essence of suffering. The ego is never content. Meditation and mindfulness is to help to calm the mind and stop the endless striving.Thank you ladies. Love your conversations. ❤❤❤😊z
I hate it when we go to the council recycling centre and see people throwing away perfectly good household items. I always think they have never struggled financially. I hate waste. We go for a carvery sometimes and the chef doesnt use the legs if the turkeys. We asked what they did with them and they said they just throw them away. I think that is immoral. My partner stopped smoking a few years ago in January. He had smoked for about 50 years and just stopped. 😊
One thing I have learned over the years is that just because I like something doesn't mean I have to have it. It's like enjoying a scent of a flower without picking it! Lots of love to you ladies 😊
It’s always so lovely to see a new vlog from the three of you - a time to cosily sit down with you, to listen to your easy, comforting chatter and enlightening stories - you always draw me in and make me feel as though I am there, and that you are real friends that I know, in person. Hard to describe, but you are so natural and unaffected - simply, delightfully yourselves, speaking from the heart. A real gift! ❤
Hi ladies! I have been clearing out clutter for the last five years. I'm a single 65 yrs young single woman. It amazes me how I still had stuff from when my children were young. So out with the old and in with clear, free air. Just wonderful!😊
Hello ladies. Imbolc is soon upon us! I’ve been dreaming of my garden and planning the making ! I just took down most of my Christmas decor…slowly. I think many people are taking a slower approach to living which is good. My favorite decor is Shabby Chic mixed with Art Nouveau and Cottagecore. I have been adding those elements and donating items that don’t incorporate. So I’m actually in transition ❤ I live by the Wheel of the Year. The old ways are best imo. Love your talks…thank you for sharing your thought and ideas. Blessed be
HI happy to see you back !! I rescued an African Violet it was so sick and looked half dead it cost me 50cents I planted it by the window gave it water and care and it become the most beautiful violet I have ever seen ! It had literally small sparkles on the petals and it has given my to big blooms of flowers it is just lovely
A great place to donate, especially women's & childrens clothes, is a women's shelter. Many women flee dangerous situations with nothing. This was so fun to listen to, thank you! ❤❤
Our youngest has finally found a place of his own so the timing of my decluttering worked out well as he'll need things for his place now. Even the attic got cleared out.
I love your videos! Your camaraderie and flow of conversation is at once inspiring, hilarious, and heartwarming…Thank you! For me I am working on building a foundation for the future. I don’t know if you are into numerology but this is a 22 personal year and my life path happens to be a 22 as well so I am leaning into that. Building a better financial foundation, decrease debt. Building a habit of moving and stretching my body. I am 54 next month and I feel your pain, in the knees etc. I did have therapy for the “peeing when I don’t want to.” But I still make sure I do not have a full bladder before I jump on my rebounder. And I am spending more time on my creative and artful pursuits. Which is vast, due to my ADHD which I have only known about for a year. I also have a shopping, thrift shopping issue. It brings me such joy that I struggle with stopping. So I want to look at having an Etsy shop or something to move stuff out, earn some income and continue to do what I enjoy. Also some inspiring declutterring channels I enjoy and would recommend The Minimal Mom, Dana K White, and Clutterbug! Love and Joy to you all!
I have things that are only meaningful to me, so as I’m confident my memories are sticking, I have a ceremonial burning of : my baby blankets, toys, cards, letters.
I really enjoyed your conversations and the laughs!. I sometimes make leg warmers or hand warmers out of old socks. My favourite socks I will wear until they are so thin on the sole that I can't mend them, so that's when they get a new life!
So funny! I just spent the last three or four days going through my whole house cupboards, closets, and drawers Etc and just clearing everything out that I really have no use for and don't need to hang on to anymore. It felt so good to just let it go! the energy in my house feels so amazing, organized and just a genuinely good peaceful feeling ;-) and I'm like you Cindy I'm taking everything to the thrift store because I just don't have time to try to sell it online etcetera. I smudged real good and blessed the house afterwards and it just feels wonderful!
I have been decluttering and sorting stuff most days in January. Got a pile of stuff that needs to go to charity shops ( which is gradually reducing). I find just having separate marked boxes of drawers for things is good to helping things not get out of control. As someone who msles a lot of stuff from recycled material I can easily have too much stuff for art and craft projects.
BHF do home collections locally - I have arranged a few times for bags of clothes, furniture etc to be picked up (which I need to with not having a car). There is a minimum which I can't remember - something like 6 bin bags worth but the local shop has a number you can phone - they have specific days for each area so you have an idea when to get things ready 😉
Are there any organizations around you that help settle refugees? They always need decent used furniture. Or a group that helps unhoused people get a place? Just thoughts for that used furniture. Oh, the audio is good!!
Have you started decluttering yet? What are your tips
