Fantastic how to video.I had just finished upgrading by break system. After 16yrs I felt that it was not a just do things it was a must do thing.I even installed new break Rotors just made since to New calipers front and rear. And I also used plumbers tread tape the same way.Reverse bled the break system and man what a huge difference when I took my 05 Soft Tail Deuse out for a test ride.It was like having a brand new bike. This is a well worth learning to do yourself thing. If you have some basic mechanical skills it's worth doing yourself and you can save a lot in labor cost.If you had to pay the dealership you would pay some serious coin and not to mention you probably won't get your bike bike anytime soon.Getting a user manual on your specific bike really can take you step by step if you have the time and some basic skills. Thanks for sharing. And great job on making the video.

Terrific vid and demo of the reverse fill method, Del. I used it last time on my Fatboy and it worked pretty well even for this amateur here. I did go along to Wemoto and watch them make the HEL hoses on the premises, and the crimping machine they use to join the ends on is something that I don't believe any DIY option could emulate, I'm aware that in the past, a screw down olive type end was available, but not so much now and after all, this being a Hayabusa, I want the best possible safety on brakes and I believe that professionally made HEL hoses are it and you're right, nothing is beyond that capabilities of a good mechanic, but I believe it is a virtue to know when to hand over to a professional service if it's available for you. Thanks for the kind words, feeling a lot better than I did.
Oh you'll need it mate, as soon as it arrives you'll find a use, even sucking out old fluid when you want to do a regular bleed, also handy if you ever overfill your oil and there are domestic uses too.

thanks for the video. hope you're looking after your heart? glad to know plumbers tape won't get eaten by the brake fluid as is meant for water. there is another meant for natural gas it has a yellow colour to it. great thanks and all the best stay safe
Teflon tape is great stuff, i used it to hold nichrome wire in place when I made some hand warmer grips. It's resilient to all kinds of things, heat and brake fluid included!
Just a point to make there Fernando.. the tape doesn't do any sealing of the bleed valve.. the bleed valve seals itself metal to metal down in the seat at the bottom in the usual way when it's tightened up, the tape only seals the thread momentarily while it's loosened off for bleeding of filling.. however, like Bushrat says quite rightly, it is actually resistant to brake fluid among other things.
Excellent work...👍 Getting a lot of good tips from you... your top man thank you..iam Kind of doing the same thing on a 1998 CBR600 F... Where would you suggest I got the extended front brake lines from.😁

But I may order that contraption and try it myself looks so much faster and easy . BTW del did you see my new helmet mackie just painted its up on his channel
Nicely done Del! I need to change the fork oil on my 08 Heritage and instead of removing the handle bars I'm thinking of cracking the top nut, draining the fluid and pumping it up through the drain hole (very similar to what you did here). Is that a bad idea?
Hi Harold.. im sure you know im a sucker for any easy solution.. what ever works mate.. if it gets the old oil out, and the new oil in.. then what's not to like..!
fun fact: the guy who makes those hoses is from pennsylvania and also makes large sprockets, its called motoheaven, thrust company, and the hoses are hel. so youve got heaven and hel!
Yes it is if you're just changing the brake line, but if it's a line going to the ABS pump, then check in your service manual for any specific procedures it advises.
Changed my lines a few months back on a Kawa gtrt 1400 as I put on some bar risers, no issues with ABS, also bought one of the syringe tools after seeing Del use it before but postage was taking to long due to covid for delivery to Oz but now have it waiting for next job.
Tip from a plumber I learned a long time ago with small fine threads where there isn't a lot of room, to wrap more than a couple of turns of tape then wrap against the thread,.. that way when you screw it in it 'rucks up' and makes a seal, which after all is it's job, but if you have a large pipe thread with lots of slop, then yes it's better to wrap with the thread and make between 6-10 turns with the tape to pack out the space!
Great stuff Del - this is sure gonna be one mean looking beastie when you're done! (and when it is done you can put it next to PP - and then you'll have "Beauty and the Beast"!) ;0) Stay safe - God bless!
can't understand how you couldn't find cables, I always got mine made up by cablecraft and venhill. I'm sure they'd have sorted you out however no harm making up bowden cables will be a good vid!. Thanks Steven, i have about 5 companies advised by viewers now, and i can use any of them indeed.. but im really looking forward to making them myself.. and of course, any issues and i now have a fallback option or two to choose from..

I think it's the link in 'show more' above Wemoto Link: HEL Brake Hoses :-
www.wemoto.com/
Just call them direct mate, that's what i do, and tell them what you need..
the ptfe is also good for then the threads are a little worn . wen there not that bad to need drilled out bit a a bit sloppy
thanks for the video. if you are ever in colorado, i have a few bikes for you both to ride.
Thank you Richard, that's very kind of you.. some day we must ride those beautiful roads around the mountains.
Afternoon Friends 👋,,
I've noticed that you are a big fan of Sealey Products. No doubt a UK tool Mfg./distributor.
Appears to be good quality kit.
Glad you're getting better👌,
and ride safe ..
Cheers 🍻, G.
Thank you Gabriel, i appreciate your kind words.
Hey man, my son's harley keeps losing gas ,no visible leak or wet spot under bike pet cock not leaking, could it be from carburetor but not leaking on the ground? We live in Florida so it is very hot
Would the B king hoses n cables work too? Very informative video as always too sir. Thank you
Quite possibly mate, along with GSX1400 or even Bandit 1200.
@@Moonfleet41 oh that's right...I forgot about gsx1400...we yanks never got that beast. Great looking bike though. Glad you're turning wrenches again...be grateful daily sir. Thank you
Does the reverse fill process work on ABS models? Is there any kind of check valve on a ABS system to worry about??
Another GREAT series😉👊...
It depends largely on your system, it certainly works on a Harley, but your bike may be different, they all vary!
@@Moonfleet41 2011 Triumph Sprint GT... Blew #2 piston @ 90k on a trip back from Colorado!!😯😩 Still waiting on parts 10 months later... Hoping it's a pandemic thing cause I have a awful taste over Triumph right now..😫🤷🏻♂️
Was planning a replacement of the OEM rotors if and when I ever get back up and rolling on the Sprint!¡!¡!
Anyway just curious? Like I said, great series and thanks for the reply👍👊
PTFE tape, it's the future, nice one Del.
my like got you to 1k for this one. woop
Great Video look forward to the next one Del 👏👌🏻👍
Thanks buddy, good to hear form you. 👍
I ordered wemoto braided lines for my xjr last week back and front and was going to get a professional install because brake lines scare the life out of me haveing to bleed them . But I may order that contraption and try it myself looks so much faster and easy . BTW del did you see my new helmet mackie just painted its up on his channel
Good luck with your break hose install buddy, take your time and you'll make a great job of it..
I gotta ask..what brand tools are you using ? Love that box end ratchet with a swivel end too.
I buy the best tools I can afford various brands, Wiha, Gedore, Facom and Sealey.
@@Moonfleet41 no tool sponsor ...yet? But yes I agree
It's ASMR for hydraulic lines, very nice. 9:54 is me after a curry.
Brilliant, thank you as always. Is it the same method for ABS systems?, really appreciate all you time making these vids.
@Col Furgeson mitre 10 have them for $10 mate. One of the very few things that are cheaper here than there apparently!
Not a criticism, just a little tip , wrap the tape the other way, then it won't undo when screwing in.
PTFE = Plumber's Tape For Everyone :-)
Ayup buddy, you've been talking to Springy, you must be his apprentice lyrical gangsta... see ya at the weekend maybe??
Very nice..Cheers :)
Nice job Del, Nick Australia. PS Hope your feeling stronger
Thanks Nick, good to hear form you mate, and yes, feeling a lot better..
Neat trick!
Hope you're well just ordered one of those syringes thanks for the tip
Most welcome Gordon, Hope you enjoy using it.
Great stuff Del - this is sure gonna be one mean looking beastie when you're done! (and when it is done you can put it next to PP - and then you'll have "Beauty and the Beast"!) ;0) Stay safe - God bless!
Thanks Mike, looking forward to letting this one evolve and enjoying the journey!
can't understand how you couldn't find cables, I always got mine made up by cablecraft and venhill. I'm sure they'd have sorted you out however no harm making up bowden cables will be a good vid!. I use a syringe for feeding lambs to do the brakes.. cost a fiver, much the same as what you have there
Thanks Steven, i have about 5 companies advised by viewers now, and i can use any of them indeed.. but im really looking forward to making them myself.. and of course, any issues and i now have a fallback option or two to choose from..
@@Moonfleet41 great stuff, will you be soldering or making your own threaded ends? bolt cut to size with a screw tapped in?
Be careful using PTFE tape on anything brake related - it can break apart and become fibrous and potentially block key components of the system.
In this instance, it's 'outside' the system, the taper at the bottom seals the system, and the tape it on the thread above it..!
Hey Del great video as usual how’s your recovery going you are looking very well.
Thank you Wayne, yes mate, on the mend for sure now, up days and down days, meds can be a drag, but always moving forward and slowly getting fitter.. thanks for your support buddy.
Long ago, while munching on a Galaxy, far, far away. - The 'needs must' suppressed guilt of 'borrowing' a brand new & unused squeezy ketchup bottle from a really sweet canteen lady, knowing full well she can't possibly take it back.
"Screw top & a strong spout? - bring it!" (an ancient 'adapt & overcome' field-ex by some ex-spurts at Air Lemming : )
nice work Del-still persisting with those 6 pots I see !
And why wouldn't i mate ? Top quality kit.!
Yes, a far easier solution when the new brake hose is dry... Thank you watching.
Hi ,Del hope you are feeling better nice to see you and Penny back. just wondering if you ever looked up Paul Brodie he does some very cool stuff with the lathe and mill let me know what you think.
Thanks Don.. feeling a lot better, and growing stronger all the time. Ive seen Paul Brodie yes, when i get time i watch Abom79, and 46works.. i wish i had more time to watch YT videos, those guys are inspirational aye..
I heard "It'll stop yr bleeding' nipples seizing up!" O.O But it wasn't that at all'
