    Thank you for the wonderful information! This plant reminds me so much of my grandma and l was able to keep hers alive for over 10 years…. And during one of my moves, my beautiful plant died.
    I just got a few cuttings from my neighbor and I’m waiting for them to root.
    Thank you, beautiful!

    You have given me hope after recently killing my schefflera. We moved it out of the space where it was getting amazing light and definitely over watered it. I can’t wait to see how it grows back.

    I had a very tall 30 year old umbrella plant that was starting to develop root rot. So i chopped it up and propagated it. Out of 20 cuttings, I only kept one and it took soo long to develop roots. Then when it did i moved it to soil and for another 3 months it just sat there I almost thought to throw it away and BAM a new leaf has emerged, the entire process took 6 months. makes me wish i kept the other cuttings maybe something would have happened if i was more patient hahaha

      Wow 30 years old, amazing. Propagation definitely requires patience, something not mentioned always. Some plants propagate faster than others. I am glad you didn't lose heart with the cutting you kept... seeing the new growth makes it all worth. Super happy for you. All the best 😊🌱

    Lovely plant, the shape is so fun! Good to know how pruning can make it more bushy. I’m surprised it’s easy to propagate, I’d think it’s trickier since there aren’t nodes. I’m pretty patient with propagating too, I probably would have given up on it though but so cool it rooted on the bottom. I often see these in the outside section at the garden center and didn’t think about them as indoor plants. The leaves are super cute! Great tips, now I know for when I get one for my collection 🥰

      @@bringlifeindoors2370 I read something to that nature, I just went back to find the type of plant it was is the Schefflera Leucantha; this particular plant is used in medicine and it's stems are edible, although the plant is poisonous.. I don't quite understand how it's medicinal or prepared, or if I could even get that variety here in the states.

  • @chrisrogers6215
    @chrisrogers6215 3 года назад

    I think why it took so long for your plant to root was that the stem was too long. The water and nutrients have to travel that whole distance. Make shorter cuttings and you should have roots quicker
