I love these comparison videos. I have to ask, since this is a 40 minute video. How long did it actually take you to break all these down for the $11? Was it worth your time in the end? I always struggle with that. I spent about 2 hours breaking down a front load washer yesterday as it had a stainless tub. Oh James, ouchie!!! I felt that one, how is your thumb today? 🙈 Lovely brass cog from that one though at least! 😬
My thumb is doing great, thank you. I’ve been gone up in the mountains, but as of right now where I am I think it’s your birthday (8th) Hope you had a great birthday and I pray this year will be filled with so much joy, peace, love and happiness.
That was a great profit! I have a few things i need to do videos on but just cant seem to pick myself up out of the muck long enough to do anything. Hated to see ya smack your thumb, that smarts to much. I probably wouldn't have kept that part lol. But another all together great video Brother. Keep doin what your doin !
@@scrappingonthefly77 man that hurt so much 😂

I think that the saw is a worm drive, that may be why it had oil instead of grease. Sorry about the thumb. Thanks for sharing!
I believe you’re correct. Thank you, that hurt so badly.
I like these longer videos 👍. I thought the rule was bigger hammer?
Oh good, thank you for sharing that.
I think you are right. I need to invest in a few other hammers.
Thank you my friend for all of your support.
I'm not Christian or religious but I love your prayers, speaking with love and unity on a planet made by "god" is a lovely message that should be honoured and passed on to new generations. What's so wrong with love and devotion?
Oh, I love how you break down the potential gains and you speak from your heart 🤘

Hold your hammer at the end of the handle. That's what the handle is there for. You'll get better leverage and apply more force to your swing. Try it.
@@williammiller6043 I appreciate the useful tip. I used to work in construction and had that said to me a few times early on 😂
I just find it more comfortable this way, honestly. Thanks again.
First, the circular saw is a worm drive circular saw. They have gear oil in a gearbox. That nut you had trouble with is the fill port. Second I would suggest getting a 3/4 oak dowel rod for driving out bearings. Hope your thumb is getting better, I have hit mine several times like that, take care my brother.
@@GeorgiaDogScrapper the punch I used works perfectly, I just wasn’t holding it properly
@@scrapitall200 I seen that, but I have trouble with my eyes. That's why I suggested the wood dowel as you can cut it longer than a punch. I have been using those wooden dowels for about 8 years now and I love it. My hammer doesn't slip as long as I make a center contact.
@@GeorgiaDogScrapper I have short ones and long ones. What happened was, I had that piece of aluminum sitting on top of that ring and when the bearing let loose, the hammer followed and my thumb was up against that ring cause I had my fingers clinched when I should’ve had them extended out. Was just a simple accident, they happen to us all.
Second!🎉
Woohoo! First Canadian though 👍✌️

@@empirefinds right! lol. I think most of us can relate to that pain.
I sell my shred steel, aluminum and stainless steel every month or so, but I’ve been stacking up my copper and brass for about two years now. I’m in no rush to sell my good metals.
You too brother. Stay safe and blessed.
I love these comparison videos. I have to ask, since this is a 40 minute video. How long did it actually take you to break all these down for the $11? Was it worth your time in the end? I always struggle with that. I spent about 2 hours breaking down a front load washer yesterday as it had a stainless tub. I was teaching my 15yo son about scrapping and tools and such, so I counted it as time well spent, but not sure in the end if I was by myself if it would have been worth it. Together, the washer weighed 240lbs
I don’t really pay attention to my time so I don’t really know. For me it’s always worth it cause I love being out in my shop and I have so much fun scrapping.

You could have stripped the insulation off of the electric cords too.
@@ofthewoods137 no I’d actually lose money by doing that
@@scrapitall200 why, because of the time versus the price?
@@ofthewoods137 because of the price I get for that insulated wire.
I did a test a month ago or so and I was surprised with the results.
My yard buys all insulated wire as #2 where as some yards consider it low grade which carries a lower price.
It appears that the copper alone was worth the same or more than the total shred price. Everything else was gravy

Time is money too. How long your electricity n bill
I’m a hobby scrapper so I don’t pay attention to the time. With the way I record my videos I have no idea how much time. As far as electricity used, it’s extremely minimal. I can be inside watching tv burning electricity or out in my shop making money. Thank you for watching.
Harbor Freight had a 20% coupon for ITC members, just buy a press already and save your hands. If you're not already one, borrow a friend who is.

@@scrapitall200 I wouldn't call a cheap analog tool fancy. It's pretty much a reverse tire jack. I don't have the "space either" but until we can secure the patio homeless theives I'm putting it off. It's not that big and it increases the amount of stuff you can collect

Dang thieves ruin everything 😡
You can get paid for the plastic , if you put it back together with the little bits of steel back in it.
That’s dishonest and I’d never do that.
@@scrapitall200 it's not dishonest. They buy it fully assembled from you with no problem. After you take the copper out put it back together. They sell it overseas, where they recover the steel. And they have buyers for the plastic. So it all gets recycled. And doesn't go into landfill to rot.
@@magthemagnificent8437 my scrapyard does not want plastic if I can easily remove the metal from the plastic. So in the case of this drill, since I took it all apart. If I put steel back inside, screwed it back together, they wouldn’t appreciate that.
