Moregard was unstoppable here, creative, agressive and not giving changes to Alexis! This rivalry has just started, we have good content for the years to come
@@irtiza4262 They only use backhand and do way less powerful shots, of course they are gonna look faster when they're close to the table. Hahaha, none of them are in the same league as Truls.
0:41 NO, we do not have a fan favorite in Alexis Lebrun. Truls Moregard is equally popular, if not more. For me, Truls is the most entertaining player in table tennis with his creative shots and with his funny acting.
@@x0cx102 poor sportsmanship? I know he can be loud at times, especially in his younger years, but I don't think I've seen poor sportsmanship from him?
That's the beauty of Table Tennis, no matter how good a player is, there will always be someone better,no one stays on top for very long, congrats to Truls, a truly talented player!
Truls has an amazing short game, really paralyzed Alexi, when it came to open rally Alexi can win but Truls was too strong in the first two balls and even in the open game Truls still wins much of the time. going to be an interesting finals!!
Lest we forget there was a stretch last year where Alexis absolutely dominated and embarrassed Truls, to the point that Truls was having a mental breakdown during match play...it made Truls bear down and train harder, and now that has borne fruit... it is undeniable that Truls is way more switched on and determined when playing against Alexis...the vibe in the air is Truls is determined to smash Alexis to a location at least 5 meters underground.
What a game! I see all the comments saying Truls dominated the match but that's not what I saw. It was pretty close throughout most of the match with Truls tightening the game in the key moments. Very very entertaining to watch in any case, I really hope we'll see more face-to-face between these 2!
We already feel that Alexis is not very confident in his shots compared to the match against his brother. He made a lot of mistakes, in short, he wasn't at his true aggressive level, you could just see it in his eyes, etc. Truls was able to take the advantage with powerful and precise starts. it's a shame well done both.
@KarlZundel Felix the best player in Europe! that he lost to he’s big brother its just mental thing he got some respect to him so he’s not playing %100 , he’s just different level then all the Europeans doesn’t matter how many tricks truls will do , truls amazing player maybe after 3rd in Europe after dang qiu
Alexis aura sans doute aidé Truls en éliminant son frère. J'aurais préféré que Félix gagne, je pense qu'il aurait eu plus de chances contre Truls (et je pense même qu'il aurait gagné)
If truls has improved his backhand and darko has improved his forehand, and it appears they have, they could both compete for Olympic gold along with felix.
I bet truls was happy that Alexis beat Felix because he would have go give it to win Felix and probably wouldn’t be enough 😂 but that was I talked about when I said Alexis is very good and can win 1 or two players but he is not stable like his brother.
Having watched Alexis Lebrun quite thoroughly now, I do feel that he gets in his head quite quickly. Once he does he seems to play differently and not in a good way. It was a great match but after game 1 when Alexis let it slip away you could see his demeanor and play style change.
Alexis should have let Felix win. Alexis can win against Felix because of the psychologically part of the game. But against other players, Felix is the way better player, probably the best non-chinese player at the moment
Alexis’ only enemy is his mental strength, after giving what he thought was his greatest effort and losing the first you could see his usual demeanour take a massive downturn, which contributed to losing the second without a real fight, then he licked his bruises and tried again, showing what he could really do, but Trulls kept his head up and that is the only difference, once he sorts out his mental strength his consistency will jump also and his power will punch through over time rather than fail with his mental decline. Excellent match to observe the minute elements that make up a great player, that last 5% of mental attitude that takes you beyond your physical limitations.
With some modern players there is something peculiar in the air that is different from the time around Zhang, Xu, Ma, Wang aso. This is for instance quite visible to me in matches with Moregard and Lebrun (on the contrary you won't see this with Lin Yun-Ju). It is something about poker face, some kind of arrogant, insecure and narcissistic appearance and behavior. Cleary, I don't have to connect with the players personally, still, I see table tennis as the fastest gentleman sport in the planet. Just sayin', I see you guys..
Sport is a game. You behave differently when you play, you can be out of mind. When I watch Alexis (or Truls, but as I am French, it is easier to understand Alexis when he speaks his native language), I see nice guys, not arrogant at all. Think of Mc Enroe, which made tennis so entertaining to see, when he played Connors.
Prenez 10 % de ses compétences et vous devenez le numéro 200 français... 😂 Ceci dit ne soyez pas un oiseau de mauvaise augure, il est en train de revenir à un meilleur niveau.😊

Best description of Truls Moregard.
This is probably the most agresssive match i've ever seen. I cannot imagine having reflexes that fast.
Have you seen harimoto vs liang jingkun in the world champs
Just Watch table tennis chinese super league or chinese trials, they are way faster

Last set Truls was in the zone.

Alien zone!
One of the most exciting European rivalries at the moment...

Perhaps they meant he's the fan favourite in the venue. Lots of french people in the audience I assume.
Funny player, but poor sportsmanship. So no some people like him a lot, some don't.
It's played in Switzerland so there's a LOT of french people there. Think that's what he meant :)

Unbelievable play from Truls! 🤯💪 He beats Alexis once again, and how!
11:36 is such a banger, aswell as the match point edge ball winner!!😮😤💥
Reminds me of when I played; all the kids that wanted to win the match point with a highlight offensive play, so they would attack anything :)
Nice Match from both. I really like to see Truls playing an aggressive offenssive style.

Moregard really improved his forehand and general consistency after training and playing in the Chinese league.
Waldner's forehand & Persson's backhand on the grid! This is Truls Moregard!!!
The last two sets from another planet, two Martians ! Truls is really the new Waldner
11:46 Felix and Xia lian Ni !!

Moregard is much a better player after his training in China and playing in the Chinese league.
I ❤ Truls' playing !!

Lebrun is so passive. At this level you have to be aggressive.

I used to play similar to that before;howver, the velocity of my ball was slower and I could not make sequences of returns like that.
