Looking for all you weight shaving vids now
ruclips.net/video/dzYMq4zf0xs/видео.htmlsi=DOF2HL0CqNxk-3He here's a video documenting all my weight reduction, currently at 200+ lb reduction
merry christmas
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas! ⛄
@thelasts209 did the battery come with post terminals or do you need to purchase separately? Also what spacers did you use? Thanks
@@alexudolkin2146 yes it came with it. I dont remember what size washer but you'll find one the correct size easily if you just go hardware store
@@TheLastS209I just bought this exact battery for a 2012 WRX, is yours still running good?
@@alexudolkin2146 yup
Longterm, have you had any issues with this, especially in the winter?
No, it's been about a year and a half with the battery, no issues. Be sure to like and subscribe to the channel. Thanks for watching!
What region or climate are you in?
It gets to -10⁰F here. This is for a VB, it has a ton of electronics.
Just curious do you run your sound system loud and would that possibly affect your battery performance
I don't run it very loud but this battery has more power than OEM and still weighs a lot less. It's a win win
Does this battery swap come with instructions paper?
There are instructions that I found on yt, but it's very vague. I had to contact Mitch from mele design firm to install it correctly. I like that the battery can still use some of the OEM protective parts and installs in the correct orientation. Thanks for watching!
Did you have to charge the battery before use?
Nope
@@TheLastS209 Cool. Will be installing the same setup today in my STI. Appreciate the installation guide.
@@sean_nguyen make sure to buy washers and get the orientation correct. Took me 3 tries to finally get it lol
@@TheLastS209 Took me 3 washers to get the terminals to sit flush with the battery. Same screws worked. Would've been assed out without your video :).
Holy crap. I feel like I just overclocked my car. All the electronics responds twice as fast. It definitely cranks up quicker. When I corner balanced my car, they always said it’d be better if my battery was in the trunk. I’m sure shaving all that frontal weight is noticeable in my corner balance.
Right before I looked it up I thought, “that’s prolly like a $500 battery…”
😂
I’d love to get one for my 20’ STI but I may not have the means for that practically. I still desire a 2500lb 400hp car, but know
that’ll never be produced… so I went with the most enjoyable car I could find that was able to carry passengers/luggage and still put a smile on my face. I plan on owning this car until Jesus comes back.
These cars are so engaging compared to all the electronic steering cars. Every time I drive other cars I think of how little feedback there is and how artificial it feels.
I like the detail of the engraving on the battery mount. Thanks for telling us the difference in weight. Let us know, in time, how the battery holds up (durability/longevity wise).
Does it crank over quicker/stronger than the OEM battery?
Beautiful car, thanks for the video!
Thanks for the comment! These cars are definitely the last of it's kind and honestly a lot of fun if you can get the right power/weight ratio. A lightweight battery is just the first step in the weight reduction process.
I definitely love the hydraulic steering feel from the STI, but electric power steering sports cars have come a long way. I've driven my friends' s2k, gr86, and nd2 Miata and those all have pretty good steering feel in them.
The battery cranks about the same as stock, maybe a little faster.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more s209 content! 😊
You can pay it off in 12 months installments if you want.
