I don't own a sidearm): 1) The slide's almost far enough to eject a round, so it's almost not a check. Unless I'm terribly misjudging it. 2) While her index finger is indeed clear of the slide, and off the trigger, you usually don't want it pointing out like that. Can get caught on something. This is also being nitpicky. At a range, it's perfectly fine for what she's depicted with. I'm not an instructor or anything, though.
