- Yes they are repaints but Hasbro did a great job on both of these figures! Deadpool and Bob of Hydra turned out awesome! Deadpool is the star of the show and definitely one of the best Marvel Legends figures of the year!

Im so glad they went with the good proportions for the shoulders on this deadpool. On daredevil they did a weird ass combination of ryv spidey and retro spidey so he had really wonky proportions. This is fully ryv spidey

Hot take: I think the RYV body mold is MUCH better for Deadpool than it is for Spider-Man. For my money, the Amazing Fantasy body mold is (easily) THE best body mold for Spider-Man while the RYV body mold is damn near perfect for Deadpool
1.) The first issue and most visually apparent issue is height; even at his tallest as a fully grown adult, Spider-Man is only 5'10" while Deadpool is 6'2". The RYV body mold is actually quite tall relative to other body molds and is pretty close to the Captain America body mold. And how tall is Captain America??? 6'2"! Should 5'10" Spider-Man be the same height as 6'2" Captain America? Nope, but 6'2" Deadpool should. Therefore, the RYV body mold is MUCH more in scale for Deadpool than Spider-Man
2.) The proportions of the RYV body mold make more sense for Deadpool, while the proportions for the Amazing Fantasy body mold make more sense for Spider-Man. Despite being taller, the RYV body mold has smaller shoulders that give the figure a slightly lanky silhouette, while the Amazing Fantasy body mold has (relatively) bulkier shoulders that give a more powerful silhouette. Which character has the strength to lift 10 tens and which character only has very slight super strength??? Therefore Spider-Man should look a little bulkier/more intimidating than Deadpool in terms of proportions
3.) While not quite as agile as Spider-Man, Deadpool is still a VERY agile character, so it's not weird/wasteful for a Deadpool figure to have a lot of articulation the way it would be if Hasbro randomly decided to give a character like Whirlwind crazy articulation. If you look up Deadpool when he's drawn by artists like Ed McGuinness or Alvin Lee, it's clear that Deadpool should be able to get into crazy poses

@@SageBengal4382 That would be pretty cool (it's the best Marvel Legends Spider-Man IMO), but Marvel Legends usually doesn't do straight-up rereleases with zero changes
I'll do you one better though: I have a feeling that Hasbro will eventually release a solo Spider-Man on that Amazing Fantasy body that's based more on John Romita Sr.'s look for the character (lighter/baby blue, Romita Sr.'s iconic eye/mask design, Romita Sr.'s version of the spider chest symbol, etc.) as opposed to the more Steve Ditko look of the Amazing Friends Spider-Man
The timing is perfect for it. Not only is John Romita Sr. largely still considered THE best/most iconic Spider-Man artist, but he sadly passed away this year. Hasbro could market it as a tribute to him

@@raymondjones5909 5'10" isn't short, it's just not massive. And if an artist does happen to draw Spider-Man super tall, then that artist is incorrect and is drawing Spider-Man off-model. These are canonical heights that are published both in handbooks/encyclopedias and in Marvel's own character bibles provided to their staff artists. Drawing Spider-Man to be 6'5", for example, would be just as incorrect as coloring him with red hair because both go against canonical facts about the character

wrist cuffs should have been black, especially to combine with the boot ones. Are they separate pieces? didn't get that part. And how easy is it to paint black on red? asking for a friend 😅
A good black can be painted over almost anything. But personally it doesn’t bother me enough to change. Just make sure you find the right kind of paint 👍

Deadpool seems to be the poster child of "expectations are met, so let's now have fun."
Yes, Deadpool is a reused mold and yes all the weapons are reuse, but the fact that they included every sensible accessory means we can't complain about it. If things are missing AND we get all the reuse, then that sucks. But this is a Deadpool figure that doesn't really leave you wanting for anything more. And the price isn't bloated.
So yeah, if you make a figure and it checks all the boxes, then I see nothing wrong with including goofy accessories so long as they aren't gouging the price for it.
Back in 2016 the Juggernaut BAF wave Deadpool was top of my want list, I didn't find it until 2017 and it became the first figure in my Marvel Legends collection. As time has gone on its safe to say it's far from perfect, from the body mold to the masked head sculpt being a bit off, but its based on one of my favorite comic runs and it's still the figure that got me into this line. That said, I'm pretty tempted by this new version given the new body and accessories, and like you said it works as a 'generic' look for Deadpool.
Is the Bob figure slightly taller than the Deadpool figure? It looks like in the video. I remember Bob being shorter than Deadpool in the comics, but I might be wrong though.
I always thought Deadpool was a smaller dude, the scale works for me.
Classic comic Deadpool had red wristbands back then. Thats why they are what they are. The sasquatch wave Deadpool does have black wristbands if you want to swap em though.

The Marvel Legends Retro deadpool has the same katanas, but the handles are a much darker blue, so I'll be swapping the swords the moment I get this deadpool out of the box.
Personally, the only gripes I have is there’s no holsters or lil Sack hood (besides the re-use that looks kinda odd imo ) but personally I might just color match my juggernaut wave DP, (that I lov ) and use his holsters as well.
However mold wise, I honestly think it works great for Wade even better than Spidey tbh and I love my RYV.
I’m just really excited to get my hands on this guy in October!

17:15 This should not at all be necessary but you can improve the movement on the Vulcan, RYW and any other weak butterfly made recently (Movie Spider-Man 3 pack). In the case of RYW it's not even really necessary to boil and remove the arms (though that will work best). You can actually just push them really hard until they reach end range. An anoying thing is that any newer Pizza Spider-Man buck also has the annoying extra notch thing so they went in to an old outdated buck and made it worse on purpose, without improving many of the complaints peopple have had with that buck over the years and they actually once improved the shoulders with Vulture and then never used those shoulders again, same with Shang Chi on the Sunfire buck Btw.
If Hasbro does X-Force Deadpool again, for the love of God, please put that dang X-harness on him finally. The Mafex one is SO good and a big reason is becoming they finally got his chest and sword holster right

@@UnparalleledUniverse If it were more modern I would totally agree with you. But I think this is more classic Liefeld Deadpool in costume design and he wore the longer red gloves with the wrist cuffs. You could always swap with the Sasquatch wave Deadpool's cuffs.

I’m happy I never picked up the 80 anniversary Deadpool. It look great but I didn’t like the right red belt strap on it. So in short, I’m happy I’ll be getting this Deadpool soon, plus all those accessories, especially the lightsabers.

These are great characters, but can't keep buying the same re-use bodies. Toy terminologies no good when the average 🤓 knows bucky cap mold fiasco gave me anxiety re-use,is not a $Elling point. To new collector get it! But once you know,you know. Wade unparalleled as always, can't wait for Odious.

Thanks for the review Wade. The red hand bands are a sore to the eye. The silly accessories are only there to kinda justify the value. Overall Hasbro gets a "C+" for this set.
