There’s always some lag in wireless CarPlay. It doesn’t do video playback. The UK doesn’t get that hot to do hot weather tests. They all get fairly warm during operation but this adapters casing is big enough not get too warm
I have the same model, why sometimes it connects automatically and some times it freeze and say phone locked try again , i have to put radio and try again 😢
This might be a quirk of these adapters. They all can fall off themselves at times and require a restart of adapter or entire system. Some do it less than others.
Which dongle would you reccomend so far into 2023, the ottocast u3 air pro(sorry if im getting it wrong) or the carlinkit 5.0?. My current caprlay setup is a zlink setup from an android head unit and it SUCKS. Carplay keeps acting weird. Looking forward to any and all reccomendations!
If you’re going to use this on an android head unit there’s going to be a lot of problems. My Dasaita hated most of these wireless adapters, but it also did wireless itself so there wasn’t a need but these adapters don’t work too well on android head units, because you’re going through software emulation on the head unit and these adapters work best with hardware based CarPlay systems. It might be better to look at an adapter for android OS headunits instead. They need an app to be installed on them.
This dongle stopped working for me after a month. When I plug it into my car. I get the sandbox black screen and it stays there. It does not move forward.

I can’t understand the tiny instructions on how to update. Can you walk me through it? I’ll tell you what I tried. I plugged in my carabc at home to an outlet, I connected via Bluetooth to device. Next I entered the http address and then it says admin and login. Don’t see where I can click update
@@CarPlayLife i figured out what I was doing wrong but I still have the same issue even after the update. Oh well. The 2017 Mazda doesn’t seem to work well with these. Only plug in works best
Hi thanks for the great video's. When I go into my maps navigation whilst on Car Play, my radio's audio goes off and I have to then switch back to the Mazda home screen to turn the radio back on again should this be happening? Or is my dongle faulty?
That’s a very odd quirk. So you’re listen to FM/DAB radio and have CarPlay running via the adapter and you just press on maps (is it Apple Maps, google maps, Waze?) and the radio audio cancels? Are you starting navigation at this point when it cancels or simply switching over to it prior to setting a route? It sounds like navigation audio is open on app launch and it’s taking over as soon as the app has launched. Let me know on the above questions and I’ll see if I can replicate what you did. But to me it sounds like a system compatible issue and not the adapter being faulty. Does it do this when wired?

How does it compare to the carlinkit 3 mini?
I’d say not as good for configuration menu, doesn’t have multi user support that autokit on the mini has but the carabc is twice as fast on boot.

@@CarPlayLifeJust fixed the issue, went to the website settings of the Carplay and changed to Mode 2, now its perfect 🔥

Yes try Wi-Fi connection. Try pass 66666666 or 8888888 then go to IP config menu
