How To Forge Weld a Fire Poker

Working in my off grid workshop I share my tricks and tips to produce this traditional style poker.
Including a trick to make the most difficult part of welding this poker easier by avoiding the more difficult drop tong method.

Nice video and interesting idea on avoiding the drop tong weld. Have you ever welded the parent bar of the point to the poker?

With the precut it’s easy to work the welded section of the parent bar free as it’s real only tacked at that point.
