29:00 always funny seeing people not knowing how their cards work. Slasher cares for all counters types. Giving it one with the map now makes it that it doesn't return from graveyard if killed lol
I'd bet they knew adding the +1/+1 counter would mess with the return from the graveyard ability, but didn't care - most of the removal they had seen exiled anyway, and adding 1 toughness put the Slasher out of range of Elspeth's Smite or a double-block from the 2/1 and 1/1 on board at the time.
I've had a fair amount of success using the same shell, but with more boardwipes and High Noon. Split Up doesn't exile, but it does destroy a board faster than it can be built.
I love this deck chb. Always a joy seeing you play control. This deck inspired me to finish my toughness matters deck in standard. I think people forgot about the silly turtle shenanigans!! Last game i played i was down to one line and came back past 20 life in two turn gaining the win. Salty player used all 4 timers to rope me...i feel accomplished
I was about to type "Why is there a Pinkie Pie avatar?" but then I realized that Hasbro owns My Little Pony and Magic, so of course there's a Pinkie Pie avatar.
Instead of carrot cake i use sunder the gateway, same cost, its an enchantment removal so great for those sheltered by ghosts, demonic room and caretaker mirror matches and at the same time cycles itself with talent, it can also be played for a fully formed 2/2 token or to transform a much bigger sunfall token while also drawing. Lots of value in a single card.
I've played Sunder as well. It's not without a lot of drawbacks, though. No 3 life, no second body, no second trigger, no scrys, and doesn't work with Enduring Innocence. If you're on Mazemind Tome, I think cake is not needed and Sunder can come in. If you're not, Cake is probably needed for the filtering and juice for the engine.
@Basoosh sure, but It won me way more games than cake would just for the fact it kills multiple cases, talents, urabrasks, etc. Its a 4 of card that denies win conditions while at the same time contributing to my own. I dont really need the life and the scry.

This led to, as some reported, aggro decks using minimal lands in tournaments to guarantee that they could win games because of how mana distribution worked The reason that people think the shuffler is rigged is becuase statistically you should never be getting a specific and set number of lands in your opening hand across thousands of games every single game. assuming you played 20 lands in a 60 card deck, you should not be seeing 2 mana in your opening hand every single game. This means that the shuffler isnt actually shuffling your deck but is rigged to ensure you have a set number of mana in your hand based on the adverage amount of mana in your deck to card ratio. rarily will you see the shuffler operate differently in arena.

It is how aggro decks with low mana bases and low costs are able to keep up with decks with higher mana curves. It is not okay at all. and players have found ways to utilize it to get an edge on other players.
@@bdub884 $0 for mono-red. They give you a ton of boosters that added up to around 4 mythic and 10 rare wild cards (I opened two of the rares when I was opening the boosters they gave me)
I like how the meta is very creature heavy so you can play control by piling up sweepers, wondering if blue will get a chance again soon, maybe only if they stop printing creatures that have giant blocks of text.
This deck actually gets better with a couple Eternal Wanderer's as a top end. It can blink your artifacts and top end creatures to get infinite value, act like a sweeper, and generate 2/2 double striking tokens (not balanced)
ive been running a super customized version of mono white control but i might just go back to simpler times and try this deck out as well, i still feel like i cant live without Destroy Evil and ghost vacuum tho.... vacuum helps so much against revival decks and gives us extra creatures late game! still, your deck definitely helps a lot against aggro XD nice stuff!

recently played a similar deck on fnm versus Orzhov tokens and we ended up drawing on overtime in the first game. So i can attest that games with this deck take LONG
wouldn't be skrelv's hive a good addition? or do you want to avoid the life loss, in exchange for the talent / innocence card drawer? :) I play it like that and it is a bit of a gamble, but also fits the theme
I've been playing this awful deck for a while and didn't think about Skrelv's hive, it might work, but I think the carrot cake is superior because of the blocking capability and the life gain. It could be a thing to test and consider, I might do it.
I absolutely have no life. Basically what the Japanese would call a Hikikomori. But the last time I played MTGA frequently was during Throne of Eldraine so not really sure what type of player I would be today. Started as Black/White Life manipulation... Ended playing Black control or Red Aggro cause Oko. Maybe I'd enjoy this deck

Question about this deck... Why do you run 3 meticulous archive? Is it just to threaten a counter spell if opponent doesn't know the deck, or is it just that you value surveil highly enough to play a few tap lands to get it?

Control in standard was at it's peak back when we had Gold-Span Dragon and epiphany, Learn shenanigans and aggro domination. Was a much better time

My experience with mono white control is that you run them out of cards and they scoop.
So anti life white that is not the actual Rakdos Anti Life deck...I love this😂
