That's a very well balanced engine.
Nice and clean prime mover!
And to think these may disappear because of some tier4 requirements that should not apply to classic locomotives. These laws do not impact steam locomotives of a similar age
That sound is one you’ll never forget
Gotta love that EMD whine!
Ah, that classic diesel whine…never gets old, does it?
It can be tiresome when it's shaking the building
The sound of a 645 or 567 prime mover never gets old. Its music to Railfan ears
She's got a really strong voice! ❤
Inside the prime mover compartment of Clinchfield F3A #800. Thats an awesome look inside. She sure had a nice K5LA
Damn, must be loud standing right next to that thing!
There's just something about the quality and assuredness of that sound knowing it's digging in and moving your consist. If one Could Turn Back Time to hear five or six F7\GP9 moving North out of Milwaukee to Green Bay on the Milwaukee Road or switching one of the numerous yards in town on the C&NW
it’s actually not as loud as someone might think. of course it’s still loud to a point where your hearing could get affected over time but rather bearable…
The 16 attachments to the injectors adds a nice touch …
This engine sounds like the locomotive in the New Orleans public belt system.
💫✨ That is something special there . . . and the horn 🔊 is LIFE!💫✨
I've worked with emd engines on Mississippi river for years. When you start them, they sound like a power house. When you shut them down by the tripout leaver, they make a crying sound. Love to hear them run.
Reminds me of my days doing tugboat repair work
Now if it had the low tone, what I called tuba horns that the C&NW Commuter F-7's had when I was a little goblin growing up in Chicago, it would be perfect.
If you ever want to look them up they are called Leslie A-200's!

Just looked it up. That's it.
Thanks.
Now I need to save up and acquire one for myself. That would be handy to have on the old Kenworth when someone tries to pull out in front of me. Hopefully prevent them from risking their lives.
Clinchfield #800 the Clinchfield Railroad's first diesel locomotive is preserved and operational over at SARM as of 2023.
I didn't know that goblins were allowed to grow up and live in Chicago, but now I know. . . 🙂
Cleaner inside than the outside of most I've seen
Fuel plus noise equals POWER!
And she's got a huge heart ❤
Wow! What a clean engine. First walk through as a new employee whilst still pulling was kinda scary.
if that damn thing ain't cool I don't know what is.
Very cool video!
Gotta love that sound.
I love to hear any sort of diesel throttling up
Super. 💙 T.E.N.
Thats the power to move .mountains
Wow super cool!
Cool
Oh yea😎
IM GOING TO GET ME SOME GRAY PAINT AND SOME YELLOW PAINT, AND BRING TWO OF THESE CLASSICS BACK TO LIFE ON MY MODEL RAILROAD. A REAL CLASSIC LOCOMOTIVE!
Bringing Clinchfield #800 to life on your model railroad. I cant wait to see it.
wow
Love the K5LA horn but I love the Classic M5 horns on them better.
The sound like Trainz Santa Fe EMD
This is very Cool 😎🚂
Ohhh that’s cool
that has a beautiful horn
Emd 💪
Awesome
Electro Motive Division of GM. V-16 primemover?
EMD 567! One of the best sounding diesel engines on the planet
Yeah the EMD 567 prime mover has one of the best sounds.
Not the usual train view
Nice and when did 800 had a horn swap from M5 horns into K5LA's?
That track could use some gandy dancers
567, ok, but is block A,B,C,D?????
Is this a twelve or twenty cylinder engine? One of the HRSD plants had ( might still be there but I retired) a twenty cylinder diesel and alternator
Its a 567. Idk how many cyclinders Clinchfield #800's 567 has.
Still WDP4D Is King 👑...
EMD F9 unit
No Clinchfield #800 is actually an F3. Clinchfield #800 is a F3A not an F9.
F9A? 567-16.
Actually Clinchfield 800 was built as an F3 and later upgraded to F7 standards.
But still is an F3 to me
It looks like to me was EMD 645E engine
I think there one Union Pacific F unit had 645E engine
Que miedo
