Sadhguru never told anyone to stop believing in a Higher Power, he was speaking of the Divine and he simply teaches you that if you label yourself as a believer, you stop seeking and therefore stop growing. Sadhguru wants you to become free of ego and wants you to find inner peace. You just identify yourself with religion and you become it. It serves it's purpose, but if you ever want to grow spiritually, you need to free yourself from religion. The only reason you talk like that is because you're afraid, be honest to yourself and set yourself free. Otherwise you will never know true inner peace and blissfulness.
