same as my octavia vrs, not had any issues other than original turbo failing, got a new revision on and it's excellent. Barely uses 100ml of oil between services

Car vertical's data is out of date! Do not use them stick to HPI, comes with a £30k guarantee. My car was registered cat N in August 2023, I bought it in November 2023 after doing a Car Vertical check which showed it as all clear, and found now found out by accident that it was cat N in March 2024. Stick to normal HPI!!!
I agree. It makes me doubt the integrity of the youtuber when they advertise Car Vertical. You can get the same or better service elsewhere for less money.

I think a BMW 330D - as mentioned in the intro - would be a better car than the Golf GTi.
It's also one of those where there is no single best. It's a case of picking whichever compromise is best for you.
As well as the exact condition of the car and the exact price being major factors too...

Ya know what, I just recently sold my E46 330 to Binca for a good price considering it was trade, mainly cos I couldn’t be bothered selling it privately and having to deal with time wasters
Nice car :) 300bhp from a flash map on a GTi is abit optimistic though. 290 or so on a proper dyno map yeah but a flash map, he'd be looking at 260-270
Most stage 1 dynoed gti are normally around 315bhp, going of rtech, mrc ect. The flash tune came from a car running less mods like the turbo elbow and stock exhaust and believe it to be 316bhp so would be shocked to be under 300bhp. But thanks mate miss it! Hopefully win it back Sunday 🤞

I paid 8k for my 2017 fiesta st180 st3 done 42k full history and running stage 3 pumaspeed 340bhp with a quaife diff 👍 great car for the money
For me personally, I would have gotten a W221 S-Class LWB or a F02 BMW 7-Series LWB, a much better car, for £8,000.

Tbh, your humming about the price, one your offering the very bottom of the barrel trade price. It’s also been serviced and maintained properly, it has extras on it etc so it’s worth more than a shit trade price

For 8k the only option you should consider is a S3 8p DSG with a panroof
For 8k you get the 8p shape for that looking bit old now

I sold my stage 2 mk7 golf r for 9k. 105k miles, full history, pret wheels, mib2.5. The garage i sold it to mcs in essex sold it for 12.5k

2.5k is pointless, i would say 5-7k miles is a sweet spot but 10k isn't too bad if it's mostly motorway miles within a year.

Personally, I wouldn't have bought a MK7 GTI Performance for £8,000. You can buy a F02 BMW 7-Series from 2010-2012, which is a 3.0-litre V6, or you can get a 4.4-litre V8 again. I prefer the luxury limousine over a performance hatchback. Maybe something to look at in the future.
