Hi Cram, we hope it's fine to respond in English. BMW Connectivity is designed for BMW products only, therefore we don't know if it corresponds with third party products like the Schuberth helmet. Maybe you could try it yourself during a test ride at your local dealer. All the best Laura of the BMW Motorrad Team
I hope we start to see this implemented across most of the BMW range (not just the GS) it's a fabulous feature, love the built in sat nav, something I've been waiting to see for a while.
+DeadHead, There's no news regarding which models this will be given to, but I can't imagine it will only be the GS range. Have a wonderful day and I hope you get to try this new state of connectivity soon! Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
Cannot wait for the V2 or v3 version of this when the navigation function is fully featured like what you get on new Audi / Jaguars with the TFT dash. I suppose they need to sell out the remaining garmin devices before they would be prepared to make that feature available
Very nice upgrade, although BMW is the last to integrate a color TFT connected display. However, will TFT displays be available for lower models like the f800gs?
It would be fantastic to offer the possibility of adding it to some previous model. We are thousands of users that we would be willing to buy the TFT screen
I am concerned about the dependency on the BMW communicator. In the USA the current BMW communicator product is long ago obsolete and I would hope that you will be able to use via Bluetooth a modern intercom like the Sena 20s with the new TFT.
BMW Motorrad...I just bought a 2017 R1200GSA. In August, would I be able to buy and have my local BMW dealer install/retrofit the 2018 Connectivity to my bike? I'm 52 and can't read the current speedometer; numbers too small and high glare.
+BRANNEN7 Unfortunately, it is not planned to offer a retrofit option for the connectivity for GS and Adv. before 2018. Have a wonderful day notwithstanding. Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
I've had my 2017 Rallye for 1 month. I agree, the Speedo is hard to read. It is improved with the Nav 6 augmenting the Speedo but then you can't see a third of the rev counter, which is annoying. The TFT looks really good for clarity and is anniversary neat easy, dammit..!
It would be fantastic to offer the possibility of adding it to some previous model. We are thousands of users that we would be willing to buy the TFT screen
+TheFozzy222 Of course, the display is part of the motorcycle and can display all of the bike's information without the use of our intercom system in the helmet. However, the communication (phone calls) and music player can only be used with it… Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
BMW Motorrad Hi, does if have to be a BMW helmet /comms unit to work with the tft or can it be any helmet /Bluetooth comms? For example the schuberth and SRC please?
+MarkMclean We guarantee the functionality with BMW helmet/Bluetooth combinations. Other helmets with the Bluetooth standard are likely to work but we cannot guarantee it. All the best Joerg of the BMW Motorrad Team
BMW Motorrad while you are on, can you tell me why BMW Motorrad don't offer panniers that are Anodised? Mine have all gone discoloured where salt has eaten into them. Not A Happy Chap !!
+TheFozzy222, I'm not sure why your panniers are discoloring so quickly, but I recommend visiting your local dealer, so he can have a look and perhaps suggest a product that can help protect it. Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
BMW Motorrad , DWA anti theft alarm setting screen is missing( i own this option), can’t find it like described by the owners manual, the manual says : Settings / Vehicle Settings / DWA anti theft alarm
+DarkKnight That's odd. However, it is pretty tricky to try and solve online though, so please visit your local dealer. Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
BMW Motorrad , i ve been to my local dealer, dont know what they have done but this missing set up is now there and i can access and make my setups, great screen, great bike, cheers
Just a thought, but when you use the simple nav system linked to the app (for local trips) will this not suck up all your roaming /mobile data on your smartphone as you will still need the map running on your phone via the app? Also what happens when you lose phone signal in a dodgy area?
We need more information on how this works TOGETHER with Navigator VI (using same wheel). There is much information/functionality conflict/duplication when having the Navigator and this. We need to be clear how this is handled. (for example answering a call with connectivity+navigator VI, or music play...) Also show more screen photos (or videos). Also when it shows the picture of the tire pressures, does it show proper model and proper color of motorcycle?
Hi there, please follow the following link to get all information, we have at the moment: bmw-motorrad.com/connectivity Cheers, Stefanie of the BMW Motorrad Team
Thanks. I did already. It doesn't say anything about how it cooperates with Nav VI (or any of my questions). Note these to be answered when you can. Thanks.
+R, We currently have no information regarding the other models this will be implemented into. Keep track of our social media to get the latest updates. Have a wonderful day! Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
Good features but for the time being the BMW Navigator comes only with maps of America and Europe for navigation. What about Asian countries. This new display will come as standard equipment on the new GS. Can this also be installed on previous GS models.
+devashish chanana The map a rider gets depends on the region he lives in. However, if a rider knows that he'll be traveling to other destinations, he can get a blank Navi and get the desired Navi cards from Garmin. Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
The problem with the BMW GS, is the instrument display. The numbers have always been too small to read. All they had to do was make the numbers bigger! The GS has a top speed of about 125. There isn't any need for the speedometer go to 160.
Hello BMW team .. it is amazing this new dashboard.. I have an Adventure 2017 .. can I put it in my bike?? As this is an optional I think so right? Thanks in advance
+Dan Orensztejn It is available as extra equipment, presumably from autumn. However, retrofitting to vehicles already produced or delivered is generally not possible. So, please check in with your local dealer. Have a great day. Cheers, Elizabeth of the BMW Motorrad Team
The connectivity between my Samsung Galaxy S10 and the TFT is non existent. I've rebooted my phone on numerous occasions but it wont pair with the TFT. This is for navigation purposes. Can I reboot the TFT?
Hi there, right now for Android and iOS. We don't know no now if there will be a development for Windows phones. All the best Joerg of the BMW Motorrad Team
It would be fantastic to offer the possibility of adding it to some previous model. We are thousands of users that we would be willing to buy the TFT screen
I like it, greater and easier integration making it safer. I like the idea of a free simple sat nav for local journeys, save putting the sat nav on the bike.
A bit disappointed by the navigation, especially in a city the direction only isn't enough, i expect to see the map and the route, like any navigation app (Google maps?)
I totally get your point...For me it's more about the combination of software and device... Can't see (honestly) any car or bike manufacturer beating either Google or TomTom on software development...Plus I always carry my phone...
Is there anyone from BMW MOTORRAD who can help me and respond this question: Is it possible to retrofit this new panel on the previous LC GSA? I have the 2015 GSA with all the features that cames with. pretty much I would like yo know if there's any chance to uptade the other GSA's with the new technology that is coming In this new adventure bike. Thanks in advance!

Antonio F you can still order it with the regular dash - no need for the screen if you don't want it.

Just ride the wonderful 1200 GS and ignore all the other bull shit! No one needs to play with connectivity while riding motorcycles!
