A tenth here and there in improved capacity, strength and above all the starting momentum. Times of 9.7-9.8 should come soon with all possibilities of 9.5-9.6. I still think that 200 m will be his distance where he will soon show if he can reach Knighton's record. But see Knighton? He has been going backwards for two years. I don't think Gout will do that. It's interesting to see that Gout is already running with a leg extension from the knee down. I've only seen a few actually move while doing that and not over extending like they are mimicking someone else. The Bolt comparison is not quite there for me. His form is waaaay more refined than Bolt's was. I get the stride length but nah, he doesn't remind me of Bolt at all. His form appears to be a lot closer to FloJo to my eyes. I've seen some runners who don't do well with the drive phase technique. And it's been a longtime since I've seen a runner get up and start striding earlier than 60 meters in a 100 thats effective. Does Noah classify as that type? hmm dunno.
    It will be nice to see how Gout gets trained as he grows. Will he develop a powerful start and transitions early or later down the track?

    Stride length has very little to do with top speed, and is only partly determined by height.
    It's just how far you can travel with each stride at a stride frequency that's optimal for you as an individual.

    41 is just insane! This might be the most vital statistic to running anywhere close to 9.7!
    Bolt with his 6’5” frame learnt to convert his height to power and thus a longer stride without losing speed.
    It is this exact factor why we see both Bolt pull away from the rest.
    And now we see Gout Gout doing the exact same thing. The uncannily similar pulling away at the end is a telltale sign of greatness.
    Flo-Jo had the exact same long stride. I wonder what her stride count was….?

      @dennisrobinson8008 7 дней назад

      Flo Jo was 47 steps in her 88 year. She used a technique with an upright torso, high knee lifts and more air time at top end speed. In 87 and earlier she ran like most others relying excessively on leg turnover and had low knee lifts.

    • @madsmix
      @madsmix 7 дней назад

      @ True.
      Flo-Jo had an amazing stride during her drive and top-end phases.
      Normally one has the forward leg do most of the work and the trailing leg to just catch up for its corresponding drive action.
      In her case she manages to flick her trailing leg forward faster than usual to reach the forward position for the drive.
      Fantastic shin muscles and quads!
      Quite akin to the up-down motion of the leg during a swim where they have almost equal power distribution.
      Marcell Jacobs has a very close flick without as high a knee position. It however does not translate to stride length.

    The face of athletics will turn to Tebogo for now. He has 100,200 and 400 talent. Gout gout, proper pronunciation is Goh-uuut goh-uut, he is southern sudanese, he will be world class but he has to watch out and not go the candace hill way. 100 race will always be open. Lyles has great top end, but he has to compete against the brutal power of kishane. And how kishane lost the last Olympics, he will win the world's this year. Tebogo will win 200 and he is working in his team mates for the 4by4, which at worst, will be a photo finish. Because he will run faster than the USA anchor. By LA 2028, he will attempt a quadriple. Which, I see it coming.
