I’ve put 200 miles on my VELLO SUB in NYC, and it’s a really solid, comfortable ride. Totally opens up the city, plus I can carry my wife on the back (still looking forward to a few of the accessories shown in the video to reach our shores). The lightweight folding elements are lifesavers, because I can fit the bike in my tiny elevator and carry it up a few stairs. On a Tern GSD that’s not possible. Glad to see Propel working with VELLO. Hoping to meet more folks with SUBs in the States.
That’s awesome to hear! The VELLO SUB really is a game-changer for city riding & I'm sure those accessories will definitely enhance the experience even more.🤗 Thanks for sharing! 🚲💨
Definitely! Titanium's strength and light weight make it perfect. It's exciting to see how this material is being used to enhance bike performance. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🚴♂🔩
Always cheers me up watching your videos - the way you engage with the designers, brands and suppliers; exuding encouragement, curiosity and openness to new ideas. I'm guessing that (as it should be), standards and safety will be integral to the successful introduction of any new e-bike to markets where fears of fire dictate a lot of policy. So launching in the US with a well-certified Bosch system seems sensible.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We're passionate about showcasing innovation and the incredible minds behind these bikes. Safety and standards are crucial, using a certified Bosch system is a great way to ensure reliability and peace of mind. Excited to see these advancements making their way into the market!
I'm begging the market to give us more bikes with regenerative systems. I have to replace pads every ~4 months and rotors every ~1.5 years and it's a huge pain
I haven't had to replace the brakes on my electric car after 7 years. I haven't owned my cargo bike that long but at this rate it would be be ~$600 and thats after doing all of the labor myself. Not to mention all the brake dust. And hey maybe I save a few dollars in electricity too.
@@elliots4370Regen definitely seems to save money in terms of breaks and brake. Dust reduction is excellent but regen as a energy recapturing thing, is not that efficient apparently
When can we get the Vello Titanium Folding Bike in the U.S.? It's awesome !!! Hmm... just checked your website. The full titanium bike in this video is not being sold?
@@emma70707 You can easily buy a functional used car for under 10k. While I think the bike looks awesome, for me, and I believe most people, it would not replace a car. I could use it for some light errands but its not getting the kids to school and is not gonna be able to handle a typical grocery store run. If you live in Williamsburg I'm sure it will. But for more typical suburanites it wouldn't work. If a bike like this was under 2k I would be willing to give it a try and see how many light errands I could get done with it.
Chris keeps talking over the people he’s interviewing at Eurobike this year and rushing through the stands which is a shame and also makes stressful viewing. I would prefer him to take a breather and let the experts give us a good walk around talk and ask the questions at the end. Didn’t see the point of the lady being to be honest.
Innovative, yes. Most of us won't be able to justify paying for titanium, but it's good that someone is pushing the limits of innovation. Let the wealthy people shake stuff out for the rest of us. I didn't catch the name of the company that makes the all-in-one hub with the motor and battery built in. And the radial spoking pattern really confuses me. Won't the spokes fail soon? We've known for a long time that a drive wheel should have crossed spokes.
I dont get e bikes. They look like awesome but who is going to service it in a few years and how are you going to find parts for it in a few yrs. My bet they are awesome for maybe a yr. I am not so sure after that
If Vello can make e-bikes that weigh under 20kg they will absolutely kill it in Singapore. So far the only “good” light e-bike is an e Brompton. Everything else here are just rubbish small crap bikes with no room for anything except a food delivery bag!

I carry my wife and gf on it.
@@sillybilly8028 At the same time?! That’ll be quite the accessory 🤣

These look like well thought out and well engineered bikes.
Absolutely! VELLO seems to put a lot of thought and innovation into their designs
400 wh standard is kinda nuts. I love the titanium frame and some of the other stuff.
Titanium will be pretty great for light cargo bikes that need to carry a lot of stuff. It is already ideal material for Touring setups.

Gorgeous and functional, and Ti will last forever.
Glad you appreciate the blend of form and function as much as we do!

You could get 4 only slighty heavier Tern Quick Hauls for that price

I have a steel Vello Gravel bike on order, and expressly for European touring
Honestly wished they used hydraulic brakes; do you know if it comes with compressionless housing?
Hi Dan! 😂@@drill_fiend1097
Who cares?
Bizarre bots in the comments today
Yes, indeed. This is a wonderful comment though! I look forward to more! 💋🌻
I'm looking forward to semi-solid state batteries in e-bikes pushing the range really far. 💋 😉
Yes, indeed yes. I do think so, very good bike though.
Nice line of bikes and ebikes! Are any of these bikes available in the U.S and if so, where? Thanks.
I love it honestly. Looks amazing!!! 😊
Any chances of them entering the Canadian market? This looks like a great bike for a city like Vancouver

$10-11k, phew! I mean, yes, cars cost much more, but....wow.
It replaces a car for most and the maintenance is still cheaper so for commuting it makes sence
That's how much the average car costs in a year in the US... So... Expensive compared to other ebikes but not compared to cars.

there's always the iumentum for a third of that price. that's aluminium though
Is propel going to carry this?
Chris said he hopes so.
US manufacturers are going to have to up their game. So will Brampton.
Is this really lighter than a Bike Friday Haul-a-Day? They claim 43lbs for base model with lightest assist.

not work 10k tho imo
stop using bosch ffs, they're so locked down and anti-repair

Brompton is a good quality bike. But it's not a cargo bike. The Vello is very high quality too.
You must have a specific Brompton made just for you, all others have tiny 16 inch wheels, I wouldn't take a present of a Brompton.
