I really love the 5 best and 5 worst together!
glad to hear!
Great video! My favorite thriller that I read last year, and my favorite book in general that I read last year, was Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson. There's actually going to be a sequel to the book called, Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect; which will be released next Tuesday. It's definitely one of my most anticipated book releases of 2024! 😀
oooh awesome!
I’ve been searching for a book to bring on a cruise next month and I think it’s going to be The Last One so thanks for the recommendation!
hope you enjoy it!
One of my favorite thriller that I read in 2023 was "The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires" I DEVOURED it
Such a good book! I loved it.
I loved that one!
The Engagement Party actually sounds right up my alley. I dnf’d The Writing Retreat, wanted to love it but it went weird. Loved The Only Survivors, really up my alley, couldn’t stop reading
perhaps you will love it!
Great video! I love Grady Hendrix's books. 😊 My Darling Girl sounds really good.
I really loved it!
My favorite thriller was "No Exit' by Taylor Adams and my least favorite was Breathless by Amy McCulloch
I havent read either of them lol
Really liked the cheers & jeers alternating format!!
ooooh love that name!
After hearing your review of the last one I just had to get it. Delivered today 🤩. Can’t wait to dive in.
hope you enjoy it!
Off topic but I love the candles in the back!
aw thank you!
So glad someone else felt the same on the Writing Retreat.
yep!
Thrillers always sound great to me but I’ve been burned by the reveals so many times that I don’t reach for them. I buy them. But I never pick them up. I love the isolated by weather trope. So I picked up The Engagement Party in December and I only finally stopped reading thrillers so I could binge Throne of Glass before Crescent City 3 drops. I’m sure the fact that I don’t read thrillers as often helped my reading experience to be a positive one. But I want a thriller with a real life person pulling the strings. The Last One is at a priority of my TBR list though.
hope you enjoy it!
I DNF The Writing Retreat. I never was never able to get into it. The worst book I completed last year was Almost Gone by Blake Pierce & Ophelia Night. The audiobook had an AI narrator which was awful and I did not like the main character. She was an idiot who believed everything she was told and would not have known the killer if they were holding a knife to her throat! To top it off the real detective told her she was an amazing investigator?! Barf! (Sorry for that). The best book I read was The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones. Again I listened to the audiobook which was awesome! I loved it although I get some weird looks when I describe it to people. I am currently reading The Last One and I am really enjoying it! What the heck is going on there? I can’t wait to finish it. I enjoyed your video. Thank you!
gahhhh I feel this
Im listening to Kala by Colin Walsh on audible and the narrators are so good! Its an Irish author and the narrators are irish. So its really immersive.
oh thats awesome
My favourite thriller was How to Kill Men and Get Away with it by Katy Brent. 😊 Great good for her book.
ooooh I need to read that
How did The Engagement Party compare to the guest list by Lucy Foley? I hated the Guest List so I wanted to hear more about the non-spoilery differences.
ha I loved the guest list by her but hated the hunting party
I agree 1000% about Writing Retreat. What a mess!
gah
I'd say you kind of gave away what's in the basement with The September House.
Agree, that was a spoiler, it's something that you might suspect from the get go but it's not confirmed till almost the end of the book :(
ooooh sorry I feel like it's kind of known though in the beginning but truly sorry
Last year was my year to realize I don't like thrillers as much as I thought I did as most got 2 stars lol. I wasn't a fan of September House...lol.
I understand!
Jennifer McMahon is such a staple
I agree!
I’ve read a few thrillers that I didn’t like . I do prefer reading romances and fantasy .
I enjoy those genres as well
The Only Survivors 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
right?!
