- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Passenger Wagon. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this suv designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I would actually buy this just because of how unique it is.
Exactly why I bought mine, also becuase I wanted a SHTF vehicle, but I also have an H2
Phillip Berk nice.
+AmtrakSuperFan 393 well I got mine at a great price, and it was also a boarder patrol vehicle. It as an 03 and I believe I payed about 34k with 71k miles, chances are u won't find one in even similar condition, for under 45-50k and alpha's like this one go for over 100k. And my h2 was bought from a repo lot with 71k miles and fully loaded, with a clean title and great condition for $8500, that car was a steal.
I'd rather get the Model X. It can tow 5000 pounds.
Phillip Berk what about nuclear winter extreme cold weather diesel and cold don't get along
Good thing this one has the 6.6 duramax in it. The old ones that had the chevy 350 (5.7L), the fuel milage would be measured in gallons per mile instead of miles per gallon. lol
They could also have a 6.5 litre turbodiesel V8
+Aidan Cristofaro True but the 6.6 is also stronger and it probably also gets better mileage
Joseph Long the LLY diesel got best MPG of all Duramax engines ever made
+Aidan Cristofaro5
At 6:20-7:01, he mentions that the 6.6 is considerably better than the previous engine model, which was the the 6.5.
The older models at Detroit diesels.
If it weren't for Arnold Schwarzenegger civilians would have never gotten to own one of these behemoths. Thanks a lot Arnold!
Stop getting obsessed with steroid abusers.
Watch pumping iron. One of the greatest movies on fitness.
@@GavinoPro Stop getting obsessed with what others are obsessed with.
Sinauna He’s not lying though; Arnold approached GM and asked for them to make him a civilian Hummer.
Joe Luis I think Hummer was owned by a different company at the time, American General. Hummer is coming back as an electric vehicle in the future I hear. It will be a GMC model supposedly. I wonder how people will react to that.
Good vehicle to have in a zombie apocalypse
till you run out of gas.
***** good point haha but they have diesel engines not gas
i meant gas in general, diesel or reg.
***** its different still
***** Has two tanks, so you can go a decent distance (even getting gallons per mile that this thing does) and Diesel doesn't deteriorate as quickly as modern Gasoline does, so it'll still be useable months after the zombies come. And you can run a Diesel off a crapton of different things (Veggie Oil, etc)
Man! This video just gave me chest hair
hah)
Where is the machinegun
William Goss that’s the civilian model 😝
It's crazy how much nicer/ different this is compared to the one's we actually have in the military. Especially the interior
I'm a guy that despises the H2 because I think it is extremely impractical. All it is is a Chevy Tahoe/Silverado or GMC Yukon/Sierra Cadillac Escalade/Escalade EXT with a different body kit. All those vehicles have the exact same chassis and for that reason it is very impractical. All they did was add an extremely heavy body to a mediocre chassis and call it a hummer. While I think the looks are brilliant, it is another example of why GM went out of business. The thing is rubbish. I would change my mind if it was actually good off-road but it is not. The range rovers and Porsche cayennes can get to places the H2 looks at and becomes afraid of. Not to mention the H2 averages 11 MPG. It probably realistically gets 8.
That said, the H1 Alpha is a totally different story. It is actually a practical off-road vehicle. It can go damn near anywhere. It looks awesome. The interior is still GM-tacky and I was surprised at the lack of legroom in the rear seats considering the vehicle is so large. I would have thought the rear leg room would be akin to a Mercedes-Benz S-550 or something similar like a BMW 750. Anyway, there is no reason to hate on this car like there is the H2. This Hummer is not an imposter and will deliver the goods. All you people hating on here truly don't know what your talking about and the whole small penis thing makes absolutely no sense. I would love to hear you explain why that is true. The only plausible way is that you stand waiting for the owner to return to each large SUV you see and ask him to drop his drawers for you to do research and that is really homo-sexual; you should stop doing that and get back into your Prius and drive away. This is an exotic vehicle and will probably be a hell of a collector car. Sure the Range Rovers are nice but everyone has one. And don't act like they are great on fuel either. Plus, the Duramax Diesel is kickass. Extremely reliable and full of torque. I'm sure both are about equal off-road wise but going through water I would rather the hummer. The only large SUV I would rather have than this would be the Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG if they make it and if not the G63 and of course that would be the 6X6 model. Haha. I would take the 4X4 as well but the 6X6 is pretty astonishing even though it costs half a mil. In summary, stop being a hater. It's ok to say you don't much care for it and give a reasonable explanation but don't say shit like "Your a fag with a small penis if you buy this." That's just stupid speech. It's amazing how so much hateful banter is created by a cool video of an automobile. Get over yourselves and enjoy the video and live and let live. Just because you are unhappy with your Geo Metro or whatever piece of junk you might drive doesn't mean you have to hate someone else for liking this hardcore vehicle. Tootles.
Ian Starkey I actually read all this lol. And Yea I agree H2 hummer is a piece of shit and I loled at all the fail-rappers and fail-reality stars that bought the H2 in 2003 and 2004 because the H2 was the "Greatest SUV" at the time. I always liked the hummers but thought the H2's, even when they looked nice, they were way too overrated so once business boomed in 2005, I bought myself a 2003 Mercedes G500 over the H2 Hummer. In 2005, the G-Wagon was EXTREMELY underrated and if you think everyone wows at G-Wagons now, you should see the reactions it was getting in 2005. Not to mention, I only saw 1 or 2 other G-Wagons on the road the entire month at the time because from 2002-2006 they were extremely limited in production and the prices never fell (and still dont) unlike the Hummer H2's did. Now a days, G Wagons are cheaper to lease than S550's and everyone leases them they were nothing like they were 10 years ago :/ I still have the 2003 with 113k miles on it and It's still running like a champ and I dont regret it at all (I might get another one though lol). Anyways, the H1 Hummer is WAY better than the H2 and that too is a car that maintains its value because in 2006 the H1 MSRP was 150k and now in 2015 the price is 130-140k LMAOOO.
Hummer is actually better offroad and more powerful
All this talk and never once did you mention anything about Jeep wrangler, which in my opinion is a better performer than everything you mentioned even h1
+Ian Starkey I've never seen the H3 offroading. what is that like is it going back to what worked with the H1 or is it shit as well?
BTW loved your speech.
That speech is Donald Trump worthy.
3:16 Yeah, sometimes L.A. traffic gets THAT bad.
+mockingbird187 hahahahahaa made my day
L.A. traffic is nothing. You have never experienced a real traffic jam, until you come to NY
It appears the "bath salts" are much stronger in NY too, huh?
vancouver canada traffic is pretty bad too
This was the best video of a Hummer I have seen. You said enough but let the vehicle do the talking. Great job and great review of the H1
Everything about this car is appealing to me. I might buy a Hummer someday.
When Kyle said that 2006 was the last year for the hummer h1 and talked about all of the upgrades for the final year, engine power plant, tranny, from a 4 speed to a 5 speed ect. "it's better to go out with a bang, than to die in vain" (rip HUMMER)
I have never seen a car waste its interior space like this
+Joel Bruck engine, drivetrain, transmission/gearbox are put higher into a body, to make high and clear ground clearance but maintain low center of gravity. the h1 came from military vehicle so many aspect that not practical for civilian use.
+ilham Defra hey your awesome
+ilham Defra mine starts like a chim
You know the H1 was originally designed for the US Military right? While it's interior might seem illogical to us civilians to the Military guys this served it's purpose well, I'm pretty sure that big gap might have served as a mounting point for .50 cals.
naa its not wasting its space its just packing big mussels
Armor it to the max, tint it limo style, reinforce the chassis, put side and rear "push" bars and arrange the rear like a cosy living room- you're ready to go. Gotta love it.
You obviously have zero idea about H1’s. Keep to your Honda you tool.
Woah they made H1s in 2006? Damn
I remember as a kid watching Gone in 60 seconds, the scene with the Hummer pickup and the DMX song Party up
He burned through 19 gallons of fuel just rev the motor
Hummers usually use Diesel, over 20mpgs especially on the interstate.
Its amazing how similiar it is to hour Humvees. I wish ours were this nice. If youre also in the military, you know that riding in a humvee is probably the most uncomfortable experience.
At 3:08 the vehicle shows a webbing of steel that could make 4 wheeling on rocks difficult. The under guard should be flat ,so it can slide with no friction. Aluminum wheels will be better for the road. 4:41 if you fix the rust on your muffler now it wont give you problems later. Shouldn't have rust on the muffler after only 10,000 miles. Unless perhaps you did a lot of off roading??? 4:53 I would position both tow hooks the same.At 5:21 there is a little bit of rust on the frame, Fix it now ?
The way the door chimes when the door is opened it reminds me of a Ford from the mid 90’s XD
So what's the MPG like in these thing's? I bet it's like 2 mpg city and 10 mpg highway!
+Jeremy Kegley prolly closer to 8 city/12 highway...the diesel is fairly efficient...though the thing weighs well over 10k pounds
+bighunterman77 over 10k pounds is a liiitle bit over the top you know... its more like 8.5k, fully loaded...
i always thought they were a bit heavier, being based on the military truck, which weighs over 10, but has armor and all on it
bighunterman77
ah, well, the humvee has got over 5k pounds of armor and weapons. this is the civilian version.
20mpgs on the Interstate, this is a Diesel vehicle, not Gasoline.
i just fell in love with the H1 again... i want one!!
I love the Hummer, the car is insane, the interior layout is almost comical, I'd always put my annoying relative or friend up on that seat shelf and no glove box lol, no problems got a huge centre console. The best thing was the dual gas tanks for extra range lol, what a car. First car I'd buy if I won the lottery and I'd drive that sucker on the tiny UK roads and wouldn't give a damn what anyone said, MURICA.
2:13 ahahah releasing the hand break almost threw you through the front windscreen.
The official ARMY truck.
This is the one that makes respectable power, H1 Alpha's are actually dope if you want to make a boulder proof off roader. If one were to build this thing for acceleration and or sled pulling contests, it would compete at the level of chevy 2500-3500's with the same engine. Though this one is 10 times more capable off road if you improve power especially
If I got that the only thing I would wear was a drill sergeants uniform
It's such a bad ass toy, I wish I could afford one. I would drive it around town when we get crazy snow storms.
don't sell it until i get rich buddy ok?
i wish the ones we drive in the army were this comfortable lol but they get the job done none the less, great vehicle and great video
Amazing vehicles, Love them. Don't see many H1's in my area, and if I do they are the SUT ones.
Great video once again kyle!
Absolutely gorgeous H1. And great review video. Well done!
You just lowered the value of that hummer by 50k playing nickelback in it.
Nice review of the Hummer H1! I would buy one of these if I can find one with relatively low mileage in good condition.
Imagine this crashing into a Nokia 3310...
J.B. The Car Fanatic dude. This thing would be destroyed.
Hummer vs. iPhone: iPhone gets destroyed
Hummer vs. 3310: Hummer gets destroyed!
The world would explode
Fusion would happen
Hummers are actually more environmentally friendly than a Prius....
No Joke!
I love these!
That gm stereo unit though
Gotta love the sence of humour from GM when they decided to put THAT in to production haha =D
it's a fucking tank!!!!!!
It's huge and heavy overall, sure.
But it's body panels are actually made out of thin sheet metal aluminum and fiberglass composite. So it really wouldn't be ideal to use as a tank. (Or even as a combat vehicle at all, but that's a different story...)
I love the stretch limo hummer, wish I could live in one, these are incredible!!!!
I prefer 1 billion times more the H1 than any supercar. Wich supercar car run over mud and underwater ??
This is the only Hummer I would ever buy. Now that Hummer's gone, I'll have to settle for a decommissioned military Hum-Vee.
Awesome vehicle, really hate how that radio station censored out nickelback, assholes
awesome vehicle. Good size vehicle for a good family trip
I have a couple of this in scale 1:18 love hummers.
I wish these were still made like they were back then
Can it play minesweeper at 60 horsepower?
Man, man, what I'm glad I only had to see two of your youtube clips. I hope you are not taking yourself too serious. These cars are made for driving, not for talking about adjustable armrest. But clearly there seems to be a market for this clips, given your likes.
But I'm not the target audience.
A car made in 2006 without a driver side airbag?!
Guess scine they thought it was a Giant Hummer, they dont need one lol
That and when you go offroading, you dont want to pull the airbag fuse every time you go off road
To be fair doesn't really need it.
Logan N
Trust me in a truck like that it wouldn't really matter what hits you
You probably wouldn't need seat belts in it too.
always loved the classic humvees
Sonho de consumo!
I want this just because 1. it's my dream car and 2. think of how cool you would be driving this thing to school, sure beats my 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer haha
I remember someone driving a white one to school everyday lol. Never found out who it was
OMG its a Dirtymax YES!
Awesome! Love those old Hummers!
How over the top, pointless, impossible to park here in the UK, poor fuel mileage, and to be honest quite ugly.
I want one!!!
so you have to small parking lots. 😃
+datasilo uk just enjoy it for offroad only, h1 is troublesome on road and go through city lol
+Lukas Rovina "CAR PARKS"
+hekasoram oh, car park is the english word for "Parkplatz" thx didn't know that.
Greetings from switzerland.
+Lukas Rovina he was wrong to correct you. Parking lot is fine. it's just Canadian and American English and not British English
I love the sound of this Duramax engine. :)
Lmao Nickleback on the radio.
Josh Houston Big Rockstar
@starwarsloverful
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you want to carry passengers, then the Excursion is much better. For off-road, the Hummer H1 is unbeatable. If you just want something big, might as well go all out and get an International CXT.
bad ass car :D you can piss off cops they would think your military personnel or a colonel or something :p
perfect vehicle for an epic road trip!
h2 is a chevy silverado with a body kit, h3 is for 112lb chicks with daddy issues and the s.u.t is just not needed.
I prefer the H1 (especially the diesel ones) over the h2 and h3. These are very unique vehicles.
Ill give you about tree fiddy
opening the hood is an adventure in itself
this the troll car on forza 4
@RedRoosterRoad we don't have the defrost with the built in heating elements in the windshield. All of our cars have front defrost though.
You're killing it Kyle! Great job and thanks for the variety. I love your style and laugh when I see that GrandPrix guy rip you off. Strong work
If I had the storage for one of these and the money, I’d have one in a heartbeat
6.6 Duramax Diesel/Allison 5-speed automatic, the best combo in this Hummer H1! :)
10:00 Perfect song for Hummer drivers.
Nickelback lol
i would love to have one of these trucks there are just amazing
@RedRoosterRoad Yeah that is funny- there are a lot of differences in cars here vs the UK. ( UK has TONS more diesel vehicles, headlight washers, side marker blinkers on the fenders, etc.) But yeah, I have never seen ( in person) a windshield with heating elements- we just have air vents positioned at the base of the windshield to blow air on it to get rid of frost/fog.
@MercedesF700
Yup, he posted one back in April 2010. Kinda surprised because Kyle never repeats cars he's done before. He usually tells people to look at previous vids
@mustangman442002 your right. Their the safest cars on the road. It either goes over the other car or cuts it in half.
DAMN, that is one nice sounding duramax
Now this is the truck I'd like to have in my garage in case of a zombie apocalypse.
You forgot to mention the really cool intake design on those that prevents water from getting in the engine when crossing water
@Jon3800 He doesn't really take requests, that's why he told you that. That's not him not doing repeats, that's him telling you what he tells hundreds of other people who request things. And agreed!
its soo cool i live 15 minutes away from where this was built and my school is 2 minutes away haha
you have the best job in the world
Not gonna lie, this think is ridiculously overkill for any application other than military. But it is a beast
the 1992-2006 Hummer H1/ Hummer HMC4 (1992-2002) was assembled in
Mishawaka, Indiana, United States
Another wonderful Hummer jam
i love how the hood opens on all of the hummer trucks
I think Nickelback is possibly the most appropriate music for this thing
@Jon3800 He does repeats all the time. He just does them again when he's changed his style or wants to give viewers a look at another trim level or color combination.
yeah that centre hump is housing the trnasmission, and transfer cases above frame. hence the 16" ground celarance. the geared hubs too help out wiht this. is it hte best? idk, but it is certainly capable. VERY capable. watch teh videos of these things climbing vertical walls. you will see
The cold start and revs are so rough and beefy, if that makes sense 😅
@saabkyle04 "astronomically more" is a great way of describing it. At the time, the new models were EASILY $100,000+
People can talk shit all they want this is probably still the most capable offroader to date. Sure a range rover os much more practical and more luxurious but, the h1's ground clearance is INSANE
Being based on a military vehicle, it might be in case one gets shot or damaged and starts leaking, or maybe there wasn't enough space where the first tank was. Good question.
Kyle, this is your THIRD 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Passenger Wagon video with this gray and brown color combo. :) The others looks exactly the same :) Just type "2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Passenger Wagon" into the search box and have a surprise :)
Beautiful machine.
+Joel Bruck there was a time that I had a hummer but its beautiful and shiny in candy red
My friend had this but it was a black H1 alpha convertible it had the same interior too.
That Hummer looks like a jeep from the army! :-D
I would advise the royal family of this car! Hummer H1 countryside near the castle wakes look harmoniously)))
If I had the money and opportunity to buy one I would buy it h1 are amazing off road trucks
Gotta love the H1. Nothing else like it. LOL I gave a thumbs up before watching. I just assume your review would be great, as usual.
another hummer? sweet. I love hummer h1's
