Seein him absolutely stoked to just be out there spinnin laps and not even in a race after all these years…How can you not love this guy, What a absolute beaut of a legend tmez is 🤙🤙
Love your channel tmez.Great run at avalon. So good to have you down under. You should come back for the classic.Lots of flying though you're probably doing chili bowl.Best wishes
I can't believe that they're going to close the most iconic Speedway in New Zealand, Western Springs, at the end of this year's season! It's a bloody tragedy. And EVERY Australian, particularly those who were disgusted when places like the Sydney Showground Speedway, Parramatta City Raceway, Newcastle Motordrome or the beautiful old Claremont Speedway in Perth, should get behind any effort to save this most iconic of places, even if they keep cheating in the Rugby by WINNING ALL THE BLOODY TIME!! No, seriously mate, it sucks. I was just shocked when I heard that, and I thought "what's wrong? What's this flipping world coming to?" I'm just SOO disgusted, and so disappointed that Western Springs will be no more after more than what? Seventy, or eighty years or more? And for what? So the "Big money bastards," the "Johnny come lately" with the $$$$ "don't want riff-raff and noise pollution." Well, this is definitely a "chicken or the egg" story, in as far as "who was here first, the Speedway that YOU ALREADY KNEW ABOUT, or YOU?" YOU decided you wanted to live here, YOU knew full well about Western Springs, put up, or shut up I say!!
@@tmezTv Have a word to the Auckland Council about keeping the old place open. Tell them that there's at least some international interest in this issue. I think that you could use at least a little of your notoriety in the space to raise some awareness of the issue. I know your fans down under would really appreciate, mate 👍
Hey Dude! Great to have you here Down Under. While the track has its obvious limitations, I hope all teams can put on a decent show for fans - especially those that may not have seen sprint cars race before. Clearly the track has started off nice and tacky - excellent wheel stand!
I was thinking they didn't tell you how bad they gripped the car so it brought that media attention. I am sure it got rave reviews and helped promote dirt racing even more. Great job bud. Glad you kept it straight....
Awesome sauce Tmez, have fun at the Adelaide 500! You’ll see some spectacular motorsport this weekend, and no doubt you’ll put on a great show too! Hopefully they put some cabling on the fences and shut up the naysayers.
Hey Thomas, you represent your sport like no other driver can, I hooked onto you during the chili bowl last year when you got your ass kicked out for no reason at all. Take care of yourself, man.
Love this channel, subscribed after seeing your appearance at the Brisca F1 World Final, Skegness, UK, hope that you come back for the 2025 World Final.
@@tmezTv Good to know that you're here, and hope you enjoy it down here at "the arse end of the World." Better have one of these after all this excitement 🍺
Yep, he sure is. Right after we're through watching win everything, he'll be at Western Springs for most of it's final season. Even though I'm an Australian through and through, I can't believe that they're going to close the old place. It's just a crying shame. I think it should be bloody well illegal to close the beautiful old girl down, but in the end, it's always the $$$ that speak the loudest!
@@frenzalrhomb6919yea it’s a bloody shame. Locals have had to much say on this. Don’t move to the area if you don’t like noise. I don’t like this either. I’ve been going there since a kid. My childhood driver heroes came from the springs. It sux. 😢
I wish we would run 410 Wingless Sprintcar down here. I'd love to see Tmez running one around the Perth Motorplex, that big and beautiful 1/3 mile banked oval that, I think, is the best track in Australia.
@@StopMotionCapitalOfSprintcar When I was a teenager in the late 1970s, in Sydney, we had three tracks to choose from. We had the iconic Sydney Showground Speedway, a big, beautiful, but very narrow 1/3 mile track only 5 minutes from the City centre. Then, we had another, (soon to become iconic in its own right) venue, in Parramatta City Raceway, a clay-topped Speedway almost at the geographical centre of Sydney. Last, but certainly not the least, we had Liverpool City Raceway, a once dirt track that became an asphalt track in the late 1970s, one of only two that I'm aware of in Australia Speedway history. It went back to dirt many years later, but closed. And then, all of a sudden, because of Governmental interference and negotiations undertaken in bad faith, we were robbed of Parramatta by the State Government, which demanded that the only space in ALL of Sydney to put a Railway Shunting Yard was the land the Speedway was on, even though a study undertaken by some surveying company recommended that the yards be built on several acres of spare land in the grounds of Rose Hill Gardens Racecourse on lands that they already own, but, apparently so as not to "offend the well to do" end of town, this proposal was rejected out of hand and the Speedway-by-the-freeways days were numbered. Then came CO-VID everybody died and that, as they say, was "the end of that." I was hoping that, for the rebuild, we MIGHT get a good 1/3 mile track, like the old Sydney Showground, but no,nothing so adventurous as that was proposed. Just a "like for like" replacement was on offer, but how does one ever recapture the "essence" of venues like Parramatta, The Showground or Liverpool. Yes, you can limit yourself to a "like for like" format, but there will NEVER be another "like" Parramatta. Ever. Or the Showground, the 3rd oldest Speedway in the World, behind only Wembley Stadium and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That's what we lost, and that's what will NEVER be replaced . .History. You can't go back and remake it. But we'll always remember, and, relive it in our hearts.
No one ever borrowed one of those at 1am in the morning drove it on the road. They go alright on bitumen when the road is wet around a town block. I find speedway boring.
Get it right, it is NOT a GP race but a race for local bogan stockcars that is costing the taxpayers PLENTY. The so called track is a cricket oval in a parklands. And the fence is fairly dodgey though for a Yank it maybe ok, most US speedways would never be licenced here.
