I'm back here after watching Mercer break BG3 by stacking 45 crates to get over a rampart. Well played, sir.
The comedic timing of Sam going "if we are short, I could stack three wolves on top" took me out
2:37 for people to return for that moment faster =)
Marisha is a genius for the idea but props to Brennan for running with it. I almost peed myself laughing at "it's like lawn chair. You just make horse stack."
I think Brennan was so good at it because that's totally the type of shit Emily would've come up with to solve the problem
Brennan literally skipped on his bartending job to take improv classes. Yes And-ing is practically second nature to him.
also, if you note at the start, Brennan was staring intently at Marisha and Matt when Marisha started the horse stacking idea. He was processing _exactly_ how he'd Yes And the bit.
Interestingly, Brennan admits that he doesn't play like Emily. He considers himself like NADDPOD DM (and Emily's husband) Brian "Murph" Murphy: rules guys.
Emily is a habitual line stepper. She keeps testing the boundaries of what shenanigans her DM will allow, and that's where she truly shines.
Brennan, on the other hand, will "rules lawyer" situations based on his (very deep) understanding of the rules.
He’s just yes anding the clearly best comedic idea, really props to Sam for the analysis. Really the “cause this for sure gonna happen” is the most dnd part of this.
@@romxxii I feel though, that he knows Matt is also a rules lawyer and he barely ever gets to be a PC so he saw Matt kinda of allowing it so he leaned into the joke as hard as he could. He’s a rules lawyer but he also LOVES a good bit
Favorite underrated moment:
Matt: "I'm gonna say, the stairs are probably not designed with horses in mind..."
Brennan: "Why?"

I'm coming back here cuz I was thinking about this bit for some reasons and man this is as hilarious as ever. My favorite thing is Brennan carrying on with the utmost seriousness in the world, looking at Matt straight in the eyes while the man is literally DYING from laughter. He really wanted to finish him 🤣
POV: My last 5 braincells trying to worm me out of the consequences of my own actions at 3am.
I just love Matt cracking up for a whole fucking minute. Absolutely broken for a minute.

I love how they accurately predicted that speedrunners would use horses to clear gaps they coudn't clear yet. Not through stacking them sadly, but still.

I've watched this multiple times and only just realized that if this is how horse summons worked then summoning just your horse would mean you get flattened when it falls on top of you
i feel like this scene is missing that somewhat iconic tallison jaffe laughter.

So Marisha should've summoned Supernova first if Ed needed to be on the base of the 3 horse stack. The critical role team are definitely novice horse stackers. Surprised Brennan, being the consummate horse-stacking professional didn't pick up on this obvious issue ...

@@adoragrayskull that's true, though I was thinking if elden ring is the template for this, then a horse is summoned from the ground up, not drops from the sky. So supernova would appear in Eds place, and push Ed upwards. Game logic. Lol.

I like how they just do the horse stack when it’s much easier to summon a giraffe. But hell, it’s dnd, all logic and critical thinking is thrown out the window lololol
I think it's because this is the Elden Ring one-shot, so they only have the horses they got from Melina
I was so expecting the horse to spawn on top and just fall awkwardly and both horses just break all their limbs.
This is what God intended horses for. That's why they're shaped like that.

So, why didn't they simply do a 3 horse stack with 3 people, have the 3 people get on the ledge, then the remaining 2 people do a horse stack, and have 1 person on the ledge jump down to the 2 horse stack and then summon his/horse to make it a 3 horse stack to bring everyone else up?
because they had to jump off the existing horse for the summoned horse to be stacked on it

@@alittleantidote5852 The way I pictured it was that when person 2 summons horse 2, person 1 would be on horse 2 as well. That way, if you get 3 people on horse 1, then person 2 summons horse 2 to raise person 1, 2, and 3 to horse 2, and then person 3 summons horse 3 to bring person 1, 2, and 3 up the stairs. Then, you have person 3 get rid of horse 3, have them jump back down to horse 2 from the platform (roll for that), and then meanwhile person 4 and person 5 take turns summoning their horses to jump on the first stack's horse 2, and have person 3 carry them to the platform again. Then get rid of all horses once everyone is on the platform.
I want horse-stacking logistics to be on the next geometry exam

Brennan isn't on critical role because he would completely overshadow everyone XD
