AJayII yes she broken her 6 year sobriety she tried to fight it, she refused to fall into her father dark drinking pass, but it's winning. And the fandom is broken and we will always love and support her!!
She is truly a fighter! The fact that she can put out this beautiful song and admit she has a problem just proves how strong she is, and hopes for change

Don't know how true this is, really hoping it's a rumor but some people are saying her bestfriend Marissa left her alone in this situation. That's why in the song she mentions friends that are sticking with her.

This song is so vulnerable and it showcases her artistry and how unique she really is as a performer. Demi has gone through so much and she is such a light and it’s so sad to hear about this part of her.

When this came out I was so excited because I thought it was gonna be a success story about her six years of sobriety, but oh my god if this really is about the present (and tbh I think it is. Her Twitter description of this song is "my truth"), my heart goes out to her. I've listened to this song about 10 times and my heart is still breaking.

I've literally listened to this song 50x and I still cry every time. I was at her concert on her 6yr anniversary being sober... and listening to this song hits me hard.
Liza Walker same. I was at her NY show, too, when dj Khaled and kehlani came out. I was so proud of her. I still am. Addiction is hard. 6 years is a great accomplishment. I hope with the help of her friends and family and support from her fans, she will be able to get back up and do another 6 years and more sober

I am truly touched and shocked and angry and sad at the same time. Demi is literally the only celeb I care about. She is so honest, I think she needs to be more honest with herself though... 6 years of sobriety is an achievement and she can easily do it again, she is a completely different person and she will conquer this

Who else is watching this after the overdose and is feeling this song to new heights? It's crazy how she sent out this cry for help and still managed to fall even deeper into a hole. When you think about how good Demi was doing and how happy she was, it really hits you. Like her song Old Ways where she says “I’m not going back to my old ways” to now this song Sober where she admits she relapsed is so truly heartbreaking. I really hope when Demi says I’m going to get help that she means it because I can’t stand to see her fall apart again. I’m just heartbroken.

A lot of people are saying we shouldn't assume it's current, but she's been tweeting about telling her 'truth' for months. The only revelation in this song is the possibility of it pertaining to her current life. Also... if it was about her past, she'd never drop this song - knowing the reaction it would receive - without clarifying that it's about her past. The last thing she'd want is to be faced with accusations of her relapse if it wasn't true, but it's in her nature to jump ahead of the tabloids & beat them to the truth. She was very quick to explain the purpose behind Old Ways & YDDIFMA. She didn't want any misconceptions, yet she's silent since the release of Sober...

It was so sad when she said that this “is this about the past” because she was worried about Demi, but later in the year Demi was in the hospital because of an overdose, and in 2020 Demi dropped anyone which was written just about a day before the overdose. Demi was trying to tell us she needed help but ended with it happened anyways but now she is waayyyyy better now!! love to Demi ♥️💕🖤❤️❤️💔🤭😭😢

This song is emotional and beautifuly done. The best part about it is it's raw, it's real and she put it out there not for the views or the likes or comments but she put it out there to let us know what's going on in her life and to apologise for not being sober. She doesn't need to apologise for anything. Sometimes it gets to where it's too much and you can't help but to go back to your old ways. Like me, when I was depressed I wouldn't eat hardly anything. Both Demi and everyone needs to realize is that sometimes...well a lot of times relapse is part of our recovery. Sometimes we have set backs and learn from them. This song is so personal to me as well. Shows the stages to start to recover as well. First we feel bad for hurting those close to us, most people can't take the pain and relapse, then we feel bad for those who started to believe in us and that apology is one of the most heartbreaking things I have done, then I relapsed, it wasn't till I learned that although feeling sorry and guilty to those around shows growth it didn't mean a thing unless I address my hurt and guilt torward myself. For addicts, in your head is the most dangerous place we most times go back to. I continued to relapse until I was able to figure that out cleared my head and stepped forward that was almost 3 years ago. I'm proud she saw that and I hope she does better for herself in the future
