It is so heart warming to see Mr Wang staying connected to his past growing up in China. I can see there are ordinary Japanese people and their wish for good relations with China. Unfortunately their government and politicians are working in the opposite direction. Why these Japanese politicians are so desperate for wars is beyond my comprehension. They prefer to see blood spilt and lives lost?

First, I'm speaking about the colonials army of Japan, like the Kwantung army, not the Imperial japan army, and nothing did Imperial Japan had dones since modernizations is about survival, this is literally colonialism, they did it's for the sakes of expanding the wealth of japan and Japan company investors, meanwhile the foot soldiers get a parts of the spoils of wars, this is not like you defend your country, this is actively sacking another nations for all mean of wealth and subsistence and taking its for themselves, most going to the elite, but small bits does go to the soldier of imperial ism.
Man, imagine you saying what the roman did was in defend, to protect themselves.
The brutality come with the colonial packages, or you prefer still colonizing other people but at least be nicer to them? I doubt the chinese agree, I doubt the korean agree, I highly doubt the poor folks of japan would agree with that either, especially when they are forces into debt bondages and forces to fight for banker and investor wars.

For additional Context, when Japan seizes Manchuria, they migrates many Japanese who were poor workers or were serf to some Samurai landlord on to new land in Manchuria, while the lands that those people used to lives on and works on a many general got sold to investors, rightfully, if those lands was a part of China, the CPC would gives ownerships to the very peasant and serf working on the land. But back to these Pioneer groups, they are basically property of the Manchuria railway company which have it's own military, the Kwantung Army.
Poor Japanese settlers living conditions was always in deep debts, nor does they have any protection, since the Japanese government at the time was heavily militarizes and corporatizes (not unlike today), so they see these people as cheap labors for Japanese companies and expendables meat shield in the Kwantung Army, along with cheap farmers for Japanese landowners in Manchuria, so they fall into the same terrible condition that the corporatizes state of Japan forces Chinese , Mongolian people to fall under.
After Japan start losing in China, and Soviet and CPC/KMT forces start to reclaims the regions. The Japanese military was desperate, so they forces conscript any poor folks they can find, any age, any genders into being suicides bombers and cannon folder, while the Imperial Japan army evacuates the wealthy investors population off of Manchuria. The results are many surviving infants and children of Japanese or Mix-descendants stranded in Manchuria, along with a decent sizes population of adults who aren't in any better conditions. The Soviet and CPC would takes cares of these population after the Chinese civil wars in the 1950s.
For the younger population, it's was easier to put them back in society, since Communist society didn't bother with nationality, more so with the Chinese, being more flexibles to custom and traditions that the Soviet way of thinking. However the older surviving population from WW2 were deeply traumatizes, just imagine, thrown out from the land your family been working on for landlord for several generations on Manchuria, where kindness back then is reward with exploitation and push into Opium addiction and thus slavery, then suffer the dozens years of mind breaking prohahanda by the Imperial Japan Corporate State, about how the Chinese populations are all savages, and whatever HP Lovecraft Eldritch Horror the Soviet is, make them terrify for years to comes, and trauma went from generations to generations, leading to many being unsuitable for parenting, also there is the existing very difficult to deal with, the Opium Addiction, and Opium Cartels which post WW2, these Cartels are as strong as the CPC army minus tanks sometime, and so much of the Japanese adult population remains in Japan are or became Opium addicts.
Really shown who are at fail here, the Convergent of State and Corporate powers of Japan, and it's Investors, but also Drugs Cartels and Local Business Tycoon of all nationality that takes advances of poor working peoples.
