The Red Bull Soapbox Race is a soapbox race organised by the Red Bull company. First held in 2000, over a hundred races have been held in multiple countries around the world.
History : The inaugural event was held in Brussels in 2000. Races have since been held across the globe, from South Africa to Australia.It didn't arrive in the United States until 2006 (St. Louis), by which time 35 races had taken place.
Rules : The vehicles must have steering and braking capability. Teams are judged on both the time taken to complete the course, as well as creativity of their design and the showmanship of a performance at the start of the race, meaning the team with the fastest time is not necessarily the winner. #mrlowe #redbullsoapboxrace #redbullseifenkistenrennen

thanks, how is the winner decided? I thought it was more about the design than about finishing the race (or a combination of both) but now seeing the winners I think it's probably about speed and design does not seem to matter that much.
WHEN PEOPLE COME TOGETHER to participate in such FUN & WHOLESOME events… Events that are as FUN TO WATCH as they are to take part in… For a little while, the World becomes a more cheerful & carefree place FOR US ALL… Something that we all desperately need, amid the growing insanity of so many vile & nefarious ideological agendas that seek only TO DIVIDE US & to set us all against one another…..

I can't believe I missed this I live just 45 minutes away from des Moines
hahaah if it was me i'd remove cars with suspencion just to make it more entertaining, those on the finals had all the same type of constructions with good wheels chasis and suspencion xD
You know? Some of those racers really looked cool 😎...at the start of the race 😅
I think that entrants who equip their vehicles with stout axles, robust wheels, effective steering and real working suspension should have a point or two deducted for taking themselves a bit too seriously. 😁
It’s funny tho comparing the vehicles with real suspensions to the ones that don’t. The way the ones that don’t have real suspensions bend wheels and stuff. And the one with they just land so gracefully
I agree, or just outlaw that stuff altogether, the suspension in particular. Heck the winner had a double A-arm suspension, what the hell? All that advanced stuff goes against the spirit of the event IMO.
