No, Ginaz are not the Sardaukar. Sardaukar are trained and HQed in Solusta Secundus. House Ginaz in the planet Grunman is where the Harkonnen born Duncan Idaho, (after his liberation) studied and trained. The Ginazi School of Swordsmanship is known to produce some of the finest Martial Artists in the Empire and many a noble's retainer is sent there to train.
I don't know if you noticed, but the gear sabotage had text under the effect saying it only worked on the main factions, so it doesn't help against the neutral guys I think.
Ah yeah, a little bit annoying actually because it only says that after you use it. Before you use it, it just says "Reduces Enemy units Power in the Region."
08:35 - Probably a bit too late, but you remember the Vote in the Landsraad that reduces the Power of all faction units by 30% ;) btw. You were supporting than one too :P
Love everything about Dune...I remember the old C&C style game many years ago...great to play. Just a bit of background for you. Sardaukar are the Padisha Emperors royal guard....Duncan Idaho was a Ginaz Swordmaster ...they were highly trained battle strategists...look forward to seeing more episodes
Yup, in theory it's illegal by law under punishment of House Eradication for the Emperor to meddle in affairs between the other houses (Great Convention Law, like the No Atomics one). So Sadukar in the field only means one thing - The emperor has an excuse.
Your attack on Tuour did indeed fail because you split your troopers. Focused attacks are extremely effective in this game, and should be prioritized above all else. Never split your forces. Use melee units as a shield, and have ranged units well in the back. And always keep them all together and attacking the same target in unison.
To answer your question about the Sardaukar, they do appear in the game (I saw them briefly in Rimmy's video about the game). I'm not completely sure, but supposedly they might appear sometimes if you fail to pay the spice tax? Apparently they will attack one of your villages with 5-6 units and turn it neutral. They look to be very strong.
I can't fathom why you didn't go for the "tri-cities" area up north. One missile battery can fully defend all three. It was reasonably valuable for resources, but strategically much more important.
Don't dump all your votes on one resolution. The AI so far is pretty good. You got the Landsraad Guards but also got elected to get hit with the +30% Plascrete because you are in the lead. You should honestly be voting on all resolutions to make sure that you get the ones you want but also avoid the ones you don't
Stevie G has it out for me I think :P I replied something similar to him; At 6:00 I voted on Landsraad Support and gained 3 units. I used those 3 units to capture 2 towns while my other units were on the other side of the map. Granted I got hit with the Plascrete like you said, but that's the risk surely? Spread your votes across everything and you may lose everything. If there's something you want badly, going "all in" is more of a gurantee. At 25:05 I voted against a Water Upkeep mandate with 100 votes. I stored the extra 120 influence I had. It worked, the vote was declined so I didn't get a -30% Water issue. The Fremen were chosen for the other 2 things, one which was positive (recruit units cost which I didn't need as I had just gotten 3 units) and a negative which also went to the Fremen. At 39:50 I placed votes on all three resolutions and they all passed correctly. So I feel I've done alright so far, one negative hitting me hasn't been too bad I don't think. But I'll try think more on them too.
8:00 yeah something is definitely off. I attack with 6-8 units and it takes forever to take down a unit. The more so when their health is almost depleted. It seems like the last bit of health takes ages.
Nice videos! Played Dune 2 alot as a youngster with my dad, big fan of the books and movies to. Excited to play more of this coming up this week, thanks for the videos!
Picked up a Steam copy of this using your link on the first video. Hope it helps you out a bit. Really enjoying this (and all of your other) LP series. Cheers!
spice collection should be more contested. you should maintaine a collection fleet and disrupting the enemy collection should be critical. perhaps changing collection places. The collector and the Skyship should be different entities.
I would have laughted if that one unit that had suffered a lot of damage during the Attack on Tuour, that you had send back to Mimtar would have run out of supplies on the way back and died anyway. Maybe it's just a personal thing but in such cases, I rather keep my troops around the settlement which I am already capturing, so they can refill and heal there.
Paying to pick up a harvester: terrible idea. You are already paying the support costs for the harvester and carryall. It's enough that you have to manually recall the harvester, overkill to have to micromanage resources so you can afford to pick it up or lose it.
Why is there a town in every sector? If it is that easy for people to live on Dune, why would the Fremen hide into the rocks? In the books it says the heat is so unbearable your skin would melt. I do hope they have air conditioning in the towns. It is weird there are more towns than sietches. This is a huge canon-breaker.
@@Etheral101 There is but one way of tackling the lore in your opinion? Of course you can make strategy systems in other ways. There are humongous numbers of 4x and tactical games. And they are all different. You think this is the only way? Lord almighty. What if you half the amount of towns and up the amount of sietches. Or simply start building on some barren rock. The possibillities are endless and not braking the rule of Dune. That it is harsh, unpopulated, simmering hot and brutal. Otherwise it wouldn't be a tactical game? You need to play more games.
Haha, they didnt steal the IP, there’s multiple dune games in production at the moment across different genres and studios. This is a real time 4X game, not a sequel to the older RTS. While I liked that original game, this to me is just a different genre. It’d be great if a studio like Relic (company of heroes) made a dune game, that’d be similar to the originals.

The only negative that happened was I got one vote targetted against me at the start of the episode for Plascrete production. Let me know what you think I did that was lack luster or why I shouldnt bother voting.
Pls continue this series! After having found you due to the anno 1800 series you've become one of my favourite youtubers, totally underrated!

I really hope this series continues. Dune is so good
Troops are week because of 30% power reduction from Landsraad

You should always focus fire

I think it's kind of ironic that your playing as house Atradies but never once used the non-violent approach to overtake a village.
I use it in Ep3 and 4!

I subbed specifically to watch this series.
I'm pretty sure Hedge-a-monie is an 80's hairband. This is a fun series, I hope you keep on with it.

sardukar probally gonna be added in future dlc

Wasn't -30% Attack Power still in effect, meaning neutral militia was actually stronger by 1/3?
@@lothiaskane2614 That could very well be! But it doesn't clarify why the last 1% of health took ages. Good point though.

Have you found a large arctic zone in a map yet? says you can use it for a special water building but i didn't see the building

The Spice Must Flow

I agree, I feel like it should be something you steal from eachother more often with raids etc.
yo this game looks fun love watching you game
Loving the series 👍🏻
10:00 I would be amazed to see Sajuuk-khar on Dune. Do you think the progenitors are actually Dunes machine race?
The sardukar are in the game if you miss 3 empire tax payments
I would have laughted if that one unit that had suffered a lot of damage during the Attack on Tuour, that you had send back to Mimtar would have run out of supplies on the way back and died anyway.

I think you shouldn't be able to get to the center until you get something like an elite unit. worm riders for example
At 8:00 I think your troops have the -30% power, but the defenders aren´t suffering from it?
Yes this is it!
Lets goo! Nice content.
@RepublicOfLetsPlay you were weaker then the neutrals because Harconan passed a law that lowered all main factions fire power
Amazing game, amazing series
It would be fast that can build airbase.
Maybe you underestimate the 30% combat malus from the vote?
Yes, yes I did. The vote was in the previous episode and I forgot it was still active.
Does anyone else notice that the second harvester is idle for a long time 🤣🤣
Yeah on going back over the footage I think it was offline for 4 in-game days :(
After you are finished with Atreides you should continue with another Faction to see the difference in perks.. And leave Harkonines for last..
I think you have 2 unexploited Rare Element deposits. Don't miss out on them!
I have both of them exploited! First one in the first episode, second one towards the end of this one!
@@WhatDarrenPlays Oh, I probably haven't noticed. The game really should have an indicator on that.
