A dead rotting tree is an accident waiting to happen and with strong winds they will eventually fall and babies will get hurt or worse. We have had to cut trees down for this reason. Lucky my husband can do this and get them falling the right direction. Loving the hair Lester

People who don’t own acreages evidently can’t understand the land maintenance. Lester those who were upset about the cutting down of diseased, dead, and bug infested trees that will die from those infestations can go pound rocks lol! Bugs will spread to other trees if the infested ones aren’t taken down and burned. You are an excellent land steward. Jami has planted trees which helps make up for the ones that need to be removed. Keep up the good work you two!! Please do take care of yourselves and don’t get run down while trying to accomplish all your goals.

I had a friend who was at a campground in Nebraska, standing talking to friends, when a tree suddenly split and landed on him killing him and injuring his friend. He lived long enough for his wife and child to say goodbye. Dead trees are dangerous!

Lester ... Nature has a way of covering dirt scars and it starts with weeds. Weeds bring in the cultivating mini beasts and begin to repair the soil... Would it be worth planting a cover crop and replacing it with grass in September/October ... The soil would've had a little nutritional feed after a cover crop.
so this is not so much for less surgery this is for the co-people on the page here so I live in Oregon logging is a big deal here and if you have a tree that’s dying, the limbs break and if a person or an animal is underneath of it while it breaks widowmakers for a reason it makes somebody a widow or a widower so taking a tree down is a safety matter, but you can always replant a tree and Jamie are doing a very good job. Hi Lester. Dang, the pond looks really bad. Jami was definitely right about that. Raking will be needed. I also wondered if part of the reason the horses aren't sure about going in is because it gets deep fast. It was a good idea to use the round pen panels as stalls. You may want to get a couple more gate panels. Of course they're the most expensive 🙄. The pastures look good with the dead or dieing trees and cleaned up.

Lester my hubby used a turn plow on his tractor to make ditches to keep rain run off from going under his workshop. Something like that might help the water flow into the barn and where the round ring was
Lester it came to me as I went by the local pond at our community that your pond problem maybe the fertilizer you put on the field that has washed into the pond. Fertilizer will often encourage the growth of the pond plants. The dye should help. You will want to have the water checked for nitrates before it kills the fish
Lester I so know how you feel! I've had the meniscus on both my knees fixed, my left shoulder rotator cuff done, my right shoulder had been done twice the last time they had to put four pins into put my muscle back onto my shoulder. And I am now currently recovering from a total knee replacement on my right knee.

I still think you should talk to Jake about the pond. He used a rake to pull the green stuff out and some type of herbicide to kill the vegetation along the banks. It worked really well for the lil pond he has that was alot worse. Funny how we learn new ways to function as we age and things start failing us..😊❤ I think you did a great job getting out of the 🛶..I was waiting to see your wig floating and you disappear..😂

hope that helps clean the pond some. I was wondering if some of the gunk on top might be pollen. Our pollen counts are very high here in NY & all the ponds & lakes have green all over the surface from it. Sad to lose so many trees. Hope the grass comes back soon.

Personally, I thought you were very careful and thoughtful about how you got out of the kayak. It was the wig that had me concerned.😂 It really is too bad about the round pen. I’m looking forward to seeing the green grasses in the pasture next year. Mowing down the weeds is a good idea. I know what a difference it made in the back pasture at the Sanctuary.
Hey Lester , maybe instead of redoing the damage from hard down pours, try getting a hoe in the LHL range and dig a ditch around the back where the water flows in like a river. then work on the pond area and round pen.
I find it annoyingly that people don't realize taking out the widow maker trees. Those trees you cut down were very dangerous. Maybe plant new trees to help with the absorption of water. Never hurts to plant a tree or two. ❤❤
An oxygen regulator is good. You put a water fountain in it that circulates through the pond is what they do in hot Florida ponds. It keeps gaiters and water moccasins out because the water is too fresh.

I noticed you were wearing the hair piece Lester. It works as a hat and keeps the sun off of your head. It will be nice to get the pasture cleaned up and grass growing again. I can remember beautiful pictures of the pasture in its green glory along with the pond. It looks so different at this time.

Personally, I thought you were very careful and thoughtful about how you got out of the kayak. It was the wig that had me concerned.😂 It really is too bad about the round pen. I’m looking forward to seeing the green grasses in the pasture next year. Mowing down the weeds is a good idea. I know what a difference it made in the back pasture at the Sanctuary.

Hey Lester , maybe instead of redoing the damage from hard down pours, try getting a hoe in the LHL range and dig a ditch around the back where the water flows in like a river. then work on the pond area and round pen.

Lester you need a couple of GRASS CARP. They eat the algae and other grass. They really keep your ponds clean.

I find it annoyingly that people don't realize taking out the widow maker trees. Those trees you cut down were very dangerous. Maybe plant new trees to help with the absorption of water. Never hurts to plant a tree or two. ❤❤

An oxygen regulator is good. You put a water fountain in it that circulates through the pond is what they do in hot Florida ponds. It keeps gaiters and water moccasins out because the water is too fresh.

OMGoodness Lester, you looked exhausted bless your heart! It looked difficult enough just getting in the pond...then trying to paddle through what seemed like a wall of weeds to disperse the dye! But then to try and get out...WOW! Of course, you had your beautiful hair on so maybe that slowed you down? 😂😂 Your bald head is very aerodynamic no? (You look great with and without!!!). To help build a soil base plant tillage turnips the animals can eat the tops and the bottoms admend and build a good soil,then plant grasses
