#Ubisoft #E3 - Игры
That turned out amazing! Thank you so much Chris :) hope to see you at E3 next year
Congrats Leon !
Thank you Hinde! :) I learned from the best (YOU)
The panda went to rehab and came back a well rounded and more respectable bear.
Respect Yo Panda’s ;-)
Oh my! The animation in this video was totally on point! It's also quite heartening to see how relaxed about leaks and everything Leon Winkler was! It's great that there are such positive forces like him, and the others you mentioned in the video, in the industry! Another great video, Chris!
Man, considering what has come out of Ubisoft this past year makes it really hard to look at anyone in any position of power at that company with even a tiny bit of respect. Even if they havn't been involved at all, a few bad apples really does spoil the bunch.
Even worse when the bad apples go all the way to the top, making it impossible to support the developers trying to put love and passion into their work without most of the money rewards people whose only contributions were abuse, exploitation and SA.
Best one yet dare I say you nailed it
Things like this always seemed weird to me. The bigger & flashier the stage show, performance, or whatever it is, the more overshadowed the game that they're there to display, right? It's almost as though the job of the showpeople is to act in direct opposition to the job of the game developers. I know the theory is that the two things complement one another, but I can't help but think more game makes more sense when it's a games conference. If the game can't stand on its own then that would excuse a big show but, if the game can't stand on its own, what's it doing at E3 to begin with?
The E3 conference where they announced Beyond Good & Evil 2 is genuinely one of those gaming moments I'll never forget. It felt like the entire room was just a huge cauldron of emotion. Ubisoft know how to put a conference together. Great video, as always!
Too bad it ended up being non-existent vaporware.
leon seems amazing, he's just so happy
“I wanted to be a journalist!”
Update: Nailed it.
Lovely vid :) really interesting the bit about how early everything is locked in place for a conference. I had always assumed there were several last minute changes based on the lead-up coverage, responses etc. It makes sense though that everything has to be ready so early for the devs to get builds/previews ready.
Also the animations in this video were a nice touch, great stuff :)
The lengths you go to while making these videos... its just amazing... Great work man, a ton of respect for your research! ;)
For years, when I'd still watch e3 conferences live, I think I had next to zero interest in any Ubisoft IPs. However, I made a point to always catch their stream, because there was ALWAYS something to talk about. I'd assumed this was due to bad planning or a bad vision on the part of the organizers, but this is making me realize that that was LITERALLY THE POINT. Well played Ubisoft - you trolled me into caring, and landed in my heart in the process.
As a side consequence of all of the long planning, Ubisoft also created one of the most unintentionally hilarious E3 moments of all time, in the form of Aiesha Tyler having to acknowledge a mass shooting while surrounded by flamboyant characters promoting Just Dance. Bonus points for them having been dancing to a Queen song. It was just so gloriously uncomfortable and tonally inconsistent that even thinking about it now, all I can do is laugh.
To everyone who put work into these conferences - thank you, and well done.
Great quality video! Quite an interesting topic too, shows just how much it takes to organize these events. Can also tell you put a lot of work into making this :) Looking forward to the next video!
Excellent work as always Bratterz. Animation was awesome too. Nailed it!
Great work! I really enjoyed that Ubisoft conference so it's great to see a peak behind the curtain on it.
That was awesome. I watched E3 this year on youtube with my nephew. Life is pretty cool.
I dig these videos alot! Well done!
I really enjoyed this episode and found it very informative! I loved "Here's a Thing," and love this channel. Keep it up.
Another great piece! Keep up the good work Bratterz :)
Loving your format, Chris
Such great work. Keep them coming!
Love your work, mate! Much respect! :)
Seeing this video just before the 2019 Ubisoft E3 presentation, pretty cool!
Amazing work as always!!
This is so interesting! I’ll be thinking about it when I watch the conference next year. 👍
Looking back on this, its kind of nuts how all of these games either never came out or left no major impact. Good luck on earning back any good will from your audience, ubisoft!
Bloody hell, you deserve your own documentary series on telly
How does this only have 24k views and less than 150k subs.
ICONIC PHOENIX is a great bit of autocue
Hahaha, good spot. We might start using the same prompt on our PMG scripts.
Just realized I wasn’t yet subscribed to this channel somehow, I immediately rectified that error.
That dancing panda was one of the highlights of E3!
The nailed it comment, if anything, shows how much they care. Really love that. Great episode Chris
Great video bratterz
This is excellent. Top documentary.
No one says "no" to panda. But everyone should say "yes" to this video: it's interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes and how much thought goes into putting on the show.
Smashed it again!
Awesome video.
Informative. :)
Anni-mator. That’s funny! 😂 Who came up with it? Wait, never mind. Considering your recent tweet, Chris, I’m guessing it’s you.
You're doing lovely work on this channel. Animation and presentation are top notch, and I really like how videos like this help to humanise developers to the wider gaming community :)
Hi Chris, you going to be at EGX this year? I really enjoyed our chat about turn based games (Phoenix point in question) and Was amazed at how tall you are! (and how short Jonny C is) hope you're there N.
I.... Fucking love that panda
Nailed it!
but i do want the bullet points and the XYZs
I want Mr Caffeine to come back
Your vids never show up in my sub box goddamnit
Turned on the notification bell now anyway :)
great content
UbiE3 is my favorite part of E3 because everyone else is like "buy my shit not the other people's shit" while Ubisoft is like "fuck yeah dude let's party!"
2:50 - Yes.
I like E3, It's like a big celebration for the industry, Christmas for gamers. Yeah, it's a bit over the top at times but there have been so many great moments (and bad ones) that make it entertaining to watch, I mean what over industry does this?
Topnotch quality content, somebody just needs to spam this arround in reddit.
This channel is cool go you
Excellent Video Chris. I always find the just dance segments unnecessary as their core audience, don't watch E3 and these segments seem to always get a lukewarm reception in the venue. Hopefully ubisoft shake it up and go away from this for a year.
I only just noticed that Eurogamer sponsors PMG. That’s pretty adorable… :’)
They didn't with the latest episode. Maybe they agreed to only do it for the first 6?
What the hell was Sony's 'fil rouge' this year? :/
David Twomey Blue Balls & Empty Wallets?
Guess that’s more just a basic ‘theme’, really.
Screw cross-platform play?
nice
So Ubisoft are better at making E3 performances than actually good games
No way. I thought "Ubisoft downgrade " isn't real
light. me. on. fire.
My drag name is Phil Rouge
brilliant
Experiance the beaudy of naydyure in le Crew Deux.
Nobody gives two shits about the musical performance, love this video though
This was pretty enlightening, all I ever hear about e3 is how bad it is almost regardless of the company or who won it just in terms of games shown. You don't ever really hear about what goes behind it all.
Great Job Chris! Although to me, these are made-up jobs and wasted budgets. That money could go to developers' pockets, allowing them to have more time to make games, or to support more independent studios. You don't need shows like this for games to be culturally relevant. You need culturally relevant games first, and there can never be too many of those. E3 is like Oscars, and this event has been irrelevant to me for at least a decade.
If I had to choose between 20 minutes of uncommented game play from an upcoming game I'm excited about or a 20 minute extravagant stage show with music and dancers and props and stage decor and what not, gimme 20 minutes of game play every time. If you do both I'll watch the stage show after 5 viewings of the game play. ;)
People cringe a lot for E3 conferences, but rarely realise the hard work and head that goes into it.
hard, useless work
They leaked the keycahin on purpose...
"people want to watch or rewatch"... no, not really... let's be honest, people who watch E3 have no interest is dancing shows etc. Hard truth is that if you watch E3 conference, you want to see games, gameplay or at least some trailers.
Honest devs, who are excited about games they make is what I want on E3 stage.
Exactly. I don't give a single shit about some dancing spectacle. I'm there for the games.
How Ubisoft plans their cringy E3 conferences
Watch yes .... rewatch? In this day and age of a ridiculous amount of content out there to watch? Nah
When will they realize that nobody cares about some big musical presentation? It’s like they don’t realize that they’re the butt of jokes. People never praise these dance numbers, or similar things, like last year when Microsoft kept plugging a Porsche instead of telling us about the game. They just laugh at them.
I care. Ubisoft consistently put on the most entertaining show which is a breath of fresh air from the shows Where All The Speakers, Speak, Like This
When will you realize that not everyone thinks exactly like you? A lot of people enjoy these presentations, because they're silly and entertaining and fun.
It may seem strange to you but some people want something to laugh at.
I liked it!
Speak for yourself, pal. Me, I love that Ubisoft is starting to make its conferences into something resembling a variety show, and not just any variety show, but one built around showcasing and celebrating the people who work on its games. The big dance, music and stunt numbers serve as compelling counterpoints to the very real creative workers on that stage, and although it can all come across as a bit cringey now and then, I truly appreciate that they have the courage to just flipping go for it.
Ubisoft allways has one of most fun shows with E3 ( Not allways the best) i hope they will allways be like this.
So much effort for a horrible event
Is it weird that Ubisoft is always my least favorite show at E3?
"We're filming, please be respectful". Yeah, releasing a game like Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a game filled with bugs and microtransactions, isn't really respectful either 🤷♂️
It stinks that this guy loves and is so good at his job, because Ubisoft is the laughing stock of E3 every single year.
Ubisoft usually has among the worst E3 presentations.
Yeah, sorry Ubisoft, all I care about is gameplay footage. I don't care about marketing hype speak bollocks, I don't care about CGI trailers that obviously look nothing like what the game will actually play like, and I certainly don't care about dancing pandas. Unless your game is about a dancing panda, and what I'm watching is gameplay footage of the dancing panda game.
As for pacing? Try this.
Guy on stage: "Here's our new game, "Game A"
5 minutes of gameplay footage from "Game A"
Guy on stage: "Here's our new game, "Game B"
5 minutes of gameplay footage from "Game B"
and so on until you've shown all your new games.
I want Mr Caffeine to come back
