Oh I wish you made this video before I decided to try and build The Castle. I’ve just hit a creative block and it’s kind of killed the fun for me. Like you said the only reason I haven’t thrown it out the window is the bonding time with my partner and getting her into the game.
Great tips! Wish somebody explained build the basic table first to me earlier on. I tend to get hung up on projects when my ideas surpass my skill level. The perfectionist in me will then start 3 side projects to hone those skills to a level worthy of my bigger project. Which of course leads me to having projects all over in various states of completion. There is always something new to learn and I love every minute of it, but man I cant wait to get some projects done.....so that I can start more projects. 🤣
Not stupid at all, the simple answer is I don't have it :( But I am thinking on picking up the starter set very soon. I equally have the RPG expansion for Wasteland Warfare which I'm hoping to do a video on, it's on the ever growing video to-do list :) Aside from that though I've been apprehensive about covering the 2D20 side of things in case it's too different for folks here on the channel to get behind.
When you asked your wife her opinion on how it looked. Did she give solid critique and direction or just say oh that’s great hun… I’m not sure if this relates to your project or her willingness to be involved So most likely a inquiry related to my past experiences I’ve started hundreds of projects finished dozens of them but also had three wives and one long term GF So just wondering
Hey Don! She gave me solid critique on this one, we've been married seven years and have a high value on good communication so I always know when she's up for giving me feedback and when she'd be appeasing me if that makes sense. She's also an artist and loves creating so thankfully she's able to appreciate/ get into the headspace of what would be helpful for me to hear :) Don't get me wrong sometimes I'll show her a mini and she'll just tell me it's great as encouragement because she knows thats all that I'm looking for in that moment :) I think it's just about finding someone that gets and appreciates what you're passionate about, they don't necessarily have to be a participant, but at the very least respect that it matters to you :) Hope that helps!
Thanks for the tips! I’m looking forward to starting on my first game table and I really appreciate your videos.
Great tips! Can't wait to see the finished result!
Thanks Ryan!
Solid advice. Looking forward to seeing the results of your madness. Cheers!
Thanks 👍
Glad to see you made it!
I’ll be showing it off properly soon :)
Can't wait to see the upcoming trench battles!
Can’t wait!

It always takes time, don’t be afraid to pace yourself

Stupid question, but how come you never reviewed the Fallout 2d20 from Modiphius? No judgement, just curious.
