Euphoniums rn 🧍🧍🧍🧍
Tuba player be like: GIVE ME SOMETHING INTERESTING TO DO!!!
Exactly, no one wants to be tuned percussion.
Been watching you for years and finally found my part to chip in!!
Trumpet / Cornet player, can agree - we practice playing quietly, it's really difficult especially in the higher registers, but nobody gives us that kinda thing, even though quiet cornets can be really nice if done right!
I am orchestrating now for a show. I definitely gave the tuba a solo. I was tosding up between using the horn or tuba and decided on tuba.
I wanted to say although not brass, as a Bassoonist please use more of the high register such as in Rite of Spring! Most composers tend to stick to the low bass register. I also ask that you PLEASE only use tenor clef when it is extremely high (higher than f above the bass clef staff), I have had so many experiences with composers who write in tenor clef for any note above middle C which is unnecessary because most Bassoonists aren't NEARLY as proficient in reading Tenor clef as they are in Bass clef.
Euphoniums too can be loud in low register and they are also amazing in high pitches.
Thanks for using my comment!
As a trombonist I can say giving music in the upper part of the staff is not universal I love some good pedals
Quiet trumpet is based on
Writing for saxophone, it sounds really powerful if you put the bari and the tenor a 5th apart in the lower range
I put them a third apart, can it really?
I love you man. Thanks❤
Can you do one for harp, specifically middle school orchestra harp? My directors don't know harp and they just put the violin and cello part together and i have to scratch so much stuff because it literally is impossible, not hard.
Woodwind writing tips:
Don't treat flutes like the star of the show, yes they can play high and fast but they can also play harmonies.
Trombone glisses are really pretty
Euphonium !!!!
This is so dope
Thank you!
What about horns?
thanks ryan. can u make a video about make themes of 6 min length or more. i think its really hard write long pieces and keep it interesting.
Contra alto clarinet: please just learn the range of the instrument. I have played legitimate pieces of music that were written with a contra alto part, and it went out of range. We can’t really altissimo. I can overtone it, but that’s not what they were going for
Piano- don't give us impossible fugues. We only have 2 hands.
What the trumpet player said also applies to flute. Seriously.
Dont leave the lows on the root or on a composite rhythm for entire pieces when you write, pleaseeee. Have a blessed day. Jesus loves you!!❤
No one scores brass quite because they are not quite lol
Relatively you're right. There's no way a trumpet playing pianissimo is going to be as quiet as a violin playing pianissimo, but a trumpet marked pianissimo with strings marked, say, mf can sound amazing. My point was that there is more dynamic range to a brass section than just FF :-)
Im not buying what that trumpeter said.
I’m convinced the trombonist isn’t very good
