I really liked your review, but please don't normalize the narrative of Mexican "color blindness" or us referring to others colors as a uniquely friendly phenomena. Mexico is a racist country and to deal with it we have to accept it.

I've seen this 📽️, kind of funny but also kind of lame at the same time. What I personally think or my theory is that the kid Tomas who they call Guero was possibly a product of an affair or 🤔 a one night stand his mother had with likely a white foreign dude or a gringo years ago since Tomas does kinda look Gringoish and that he might also likely been a throwaway kid which may be why the mother sent him away 🚫 just because he was getting in trouble. I also personally do 🚫 💬 that Tomas and Sombra really share the same 🧬 dad since they looks so different from each other, especially by the skin complexion. They kept telling and asking like throughout the 🎥 that Tomas that he is 🚫 dark like his brother and that he looks to be from abroad which he may likely be. I also tend to 💬 that the film can also be allegorical.
