This bass is a great bass for recording. The tone is warm and sustained. Playing live has its issues but for recording, I am completely in love with the tone.
The best version I’ve seen of this bass is an older version that was white with an orange pickguard, unfortunate that version isn’t available commercially
The only problem I see is that they use a bridge without spacing-adjustments and then the pole pieces of the pick-up dont seem to be aligned well with the strings.
That's what Iike playing the most and I think it goes great with doom. I changed out the bridge for a hipshot kickass highmass brass bridge though. Gave it just a little bit of dark that I like in my tone.
That's exactly why I'm here checking it out. Wanna record some doom stuff I think this weapon is a fine platform. Imagine what a quarter pounder pickup would do for it!
I tested it out couple month ago...nehh...not for me, sounded very thin, no punch and overall quality was not was i expected...better to go with a good squier instead or sire v bass....

The price is pretty high for this kind of bass, for this money you can buy, for instance, Cort Arona which is a great and serious instrument ! IMHO The more reasonable price for O bass should be 150-200 $.
The market is saturated due to demand. I’m sure the metrics back up their decision. Basses in this price range draw a LOT of consumers. Sometimes I go out and find a bass like this that piques my interest and I end up taking it home. It’s like a candy bar in a checkout line. Impulse buying.
with that small of a body it probably has a pretty bad neck drop, the clarity is bad to non existent, sounds like he is playing in another room. Cable Input is too far into the body aswell, will not be checking this out. Sorry for being a bummer but I just expected more from Orange

Well yeah I watch on my phone, but with headphones. Sometimes even through my sound system.

i had one and sold it again. nice sound, but such a headdiver... it was no joy to play even with a proper strap.
Put some heavy washers underneath the bottom strap button, or redrill the hole and put it in a new spot. Both those things can alleviate dive

The sound is great coming out of my old-skool cabinet speakers with paper twelves.

To me it looks like the pickup is misaligned by about 3-4mm. The spacing looks correct as each string sits over the lower pole piece in a pair.
@@neuralprobe Yes that is exactly my point. If you could micro-adjust the spacing however, you could compansate for those 3-4 mm

That might be the only bass that I’d ever take the pickguard off of. Love the Rick-like headstock though.

2:00 the pickups are misaligned with the strings. The string is supposed to be between the 2 pickup poles. Very sloppy and noob design error.
