    What I have found effective is that you can put a large piece of foil in the paper money pocket of your wallet and it effectively surrounds all you cards in a foil taco when it is closed.

    • @disasterprepper
      @disasterprepper  4 года назад +1

      Hmm... I'd have to think about that. Warm-blooded creatures are of course sources of IR radiation, so you'd have to envelope yourself to prevent that release from being seen. It'd be like trying to hide a flashlight that's always turned on. You'd need to cover yourself in something that prevented the IR energy from being seen. I've seen posts of covering yourself in a space blanket, and I suppose that might work (sort of), but I think it would be difficult. It's my understanding that glass won't pass themal IR, so a large glass shield (I know, not practical) would in theory do the trick. Sorry, I don't have a better answer.

    • @disasterprepper
      @disasterprepper  4 года назад +3

      Assuming you have a smartphone, you really don't have to worry about it being read. The security in the phones is quite sophisticated. Blocking the EMF from the phone is a different problem, however, and one that I plan to address in the next few weeks. As for protecting the credit cards, you could simply keep a VAULTCARD with your other cards (see disasterpreparer.com/?product=vaultcard). You can also purchase an RFID wallet. They also sell RFID purses, but they might not be to your liking. If you choose to make a purse yourself, you'd want to find a conductive cloth to put between the layers. I sell a cloth that would work well (see disasterpreparer.com/?product=emp-cloth), but there are many other conductive cloths on the market.

    there is a problem with your testing. when you tested a single card with foil, you testing the white card ONLY. you did not test a real credit card with foil. you did test a stack of cards mixed but you never tested a single real credit card with foil only .... your mistake was assuming that the white test card was the same exact tech as the other cards with the logos on it

      Real credit cards won't trigger the reader, only the white card will do that. It uses the same exact technology as a credit card but is tuned to the reader.

    Really? So I'll just make tinfoil card sizes and put them in my wallet. And a dollar sized tinfoil so it's in the wallet as it closes. If these expenses RFID cards are foil, then my idea should work.

    So why don’t you put the foil next to the reader? Why are you putting it last? They’d be scanning the foil side, not the card. What dope would put the foil in front of the card?

    This doesn't make sense. Why would you put the card toward the sensing unit with the foil in the opposite side? You should put the foil toward the sensing unit not the card.
