"My name is Marquise and I am working towards my Associate's in welding.I like working with my hands; I like making stuff--especially art. So welding lets that happen. Workforce Education is actually extremely important. Not knowing who to talk to and who to get help from--they're the ones that are always pointing you in the right direction, which is, I feel, needed a lot but not many people ask for it. When I decided to go back to school I had no idea of how I was gonna go about it and how I was gonna pay for my college and everything and Workforce was extremely helpful. I came in just to sit down and have one talk and by the end of the talk I was signed up for welding class starting in two weeks. Everybody's been very supportive of helping me work towards my goal and learning. It's good to know that I have a team of people, like, rooting for me to do well. Talk to somebody and get on it! Because I did, and I love it, and I'm happy. So it's good." -
