I appreciate you really emphasizing the seriousness of someone going through a mental health crisis and reiterating that we need to treat this as such, and not as some “possessed by a ghost/demon” clickbait bs. Mental health is already stigmatized and questioned enough without attaching the paranormal to it
Also, whether she's "possessed" or not, she still needs help! It's bizarre that people are using "demons are real and walking the earth" as a justification to allow someone to continue to spiral. If anything that should make the situation more urgent for them.
I hate this so much. Millions of people struggle with their mental health. Literally millions. The vast vast majority, at least 95%, of those millions of people aren't thieves. This woman is a thief. She's a bad person. Her mental health isn't an excuse and doesn't justify her shitty personality and lack of morals.
Yes but I do have to wonder if she is serious or "acting" to increase the notoriety of the conjuring house. For me, the ghost told me so and the "no footage released before I signed off on it" tell me it might be acting
My dad used to pop his ankles to scare me at night when I was a kid and make me think there was a ghost tapping on the wall. Funny to see someone use that same trick to scam thousands.
Hey John, I’m diagnosed with schizophrenia and your debunking videos have been a huge help for me in dealing with the hallucinations and delusions that take the form of what I called “demons” before I recognized I was ill. This woman does sound to be experiencing some form of psychosis, whether induced by substances or not, and I deeply appreciate you respecting her and her clear struggles instead of going with what I’ve seen so many RUclipsrs do in instances of covering clear mental health crises - i.e, “This man claims that the government is controlling him through his computer and already have control of his brain….it sounds like he has poor mental health, *but what if*..” like when people cover u/SnappedFingers. It may sound juicy to viewers who are tethered to reality to see someone say delusional things with conviction and imagine how crazy it would be if it were true, but when someone genuinely suffering from a form of psychosis sees RUclipsrs try to pass it all off as actually possible it can be so devastating to those viewers whose delusions just got reinforced. All that to say- massive respect to you John, you’re the GOAT.
I worked for many many years in the psych field. Just because you are schizophrenic, it does not make you an expert by any means. Mental illness experiences can be anything. Nobody can predict what is going on with someone else chemical imbalance in their minds.
Yeah I love how John handled that, the entire time I was just thinking she really needs help and the way he said it was great. He seems truly compassionate of others underneath the snark he loves to give his viewers and it's nice and kinda comforting as someone who... Has had some absolutely horrid days, but while I've gotten better at admitting that in places such as this where there's no physical communication, I still can't bring myself to risk trying to talk to another professional after my first and last attempt with a psychiatrist ended in the person in question getting fired... Somehow everyone is still convinced I don't have any major mood related issues and my anxiety issues are completely manageable without any extra help just because she threw those possibilites out the window as soon as I brought them up without looking further into it. Up until recently I went a whole... I wanna say 6mo without a panic attack, way better then multiple times a month but I've also become mostly a shut in and some days I'm not functional for a couple hours after waking up due to brain not always differentiating dream from reality, though I've only had a few rare instances of hallucinations so I can't imagine dealing with that frequently or on a daily basis, my totally "not" insomnia messes with my head enough Btw, hope you're doing well, from all I've heard schizophrenia can be a real hassle and I hate how any part of humanity still exists that uses that as an insult or are otherwise pretty trash toward y'all, I've had the pleasure of meeting more then one person with that condition diagnosed and none of them were bad people. Same could rarely be said about their "friends" but clearly y'all deserve nice treatment and hopefully you're coping alright, ik some people get really bad hallucinations and others get pretty mild ones and idk where you are on the spectrum, but wherever is still worth checking in on, we all could probably use a bit more of that tbh. Mental health is quite important after all ^^'
Yeah, her rants do read like the "lawsuits" our schizophrenic homeless clients at the law office I used to work at would write and file with us (we just tucked them away in a filing cabinet for safe keeping so they felt heard because what else are you going to do?) but there are also other things that can cause psychosis. I used to have a landlady who would have intermittent delusions on top of already being an entitled, abusive person, and her doctor discovered that her parietal lobe was randomly turning off because of a congenital neurological disorder she was born with. I guess it was getting worse in middle age. It's interesting that the former Conjuring House employees did manage to get her to the hospital for evaluation, but she was released soon after. Either she's good at faking being well, she's faking mental illness, the hospital wasn't very competent, or there were laws preventing them from holding her. Take your pick, I guess. It's hard to know what the truth is when she's already so manipulative.

You brought up a point I haven't seen anyone else mention yet, that being the painter being a Hawes family friend/contact. I can confirm that it is impossible to get an unwilling adult mental health help unless you have power of attorney or they are directly threatening to immediately hurt themselves or others. There's zero options to help someone, no matter how seriously they're spiraling.
My sister is a clinician in RI and she explained how difficult it is to force treatment on anyone and even if you did, they ca refuse it soon after once determined not to be a risk of immediate harm to self or others. It’s good you separated from it to keep your own mental health well.

I'm glad you mentioned the drama taking away from accountability for Cody and Satori. I kind of get why Jason isn't publicly calling out his daughter, but the fact that everyone else I've watched cover this (admittedly not too many though), seems to have forgotten how outraged they were before Nunez fired everyone and began her descent.
I personally don't get or agree with him not calling them out. Daughter or not, Jason Hawes is a relatively respected member (arguably leader) in the PI community. His entire career in PI has been built on his own foundational belief that something isn't real unless it can be proven (or not disproven). He speaks on this constantly that it's critical to have evidence and debunk things, so him going completely against everything he supposedly stands for just because she's his daughter is really disheartening, and doesn't do his own reputation any favors either.
@@TwistedSislerI agree with you, but also as a mother, I'm not sure I would have the heart to publicly call out my kids if they were doing something like this. The Jaqueline stuff definitely took some heat off of them, but I also believe Jason Hawes has helped as well by appearing on some podcasts of people who are actual skeptics of Cody and Satori. Smart play by him as I do think it's caused people to back off a bit.
"So, it's fake, what's the harm? They're just silly ghost stories, let them have their fun." Yeah, no. I have a friend whose mother passed away a few years ago and, instead of getting therapy or grief counselling, he dove feet-first into the "ghost hunting pipeline" as a (exceptionally unhealthy) way to deal with his grief, hoping that his mother is floating around in the ether somewhere. People are taking advantage of his, and other people's, grief as a way to make money, and if you can't see how that's harmful, then there's no helping you.
I have a cousin whose daughter was hearing voices and having hallucinatory events when she was in late elementary school. She didn't get her daughter help because "Oh, she sees dead people, that's all"
bruh, my hometown is a secluded 3rd world town where someone's closest neighbor is an hour away. When something shady happens like a kid disappearing or murder they blame it on ghosts and monsters instead of I dunno, accidents or criminals. And these people have smartphones and are fairly well educated but that all goes out the window when it comes to things that people don't want to think about. Yeah, it's definitely harming people.
Right? Imagine being a ghost just for a moment. I just KNOW that if I had no repercussions I would get down to SO many shenanigans just messing with ghost hunters. For people like Cotori I would do anything within my power to not prove ghosts exists anywhere near them but as soon as they're gone do every poltergeist trick in the book.
34:16 CORRECTION: Jason was vague here. The guest who left at 4 AM did get to do his overnight investigation. Jacqueline was there, she let them in. But after she went into the staff quarters she never came out, even after the guest knocked on the door later. Staff room door, not the house entrance. TCH website says when you're done with your overnight, you just leave, there is no formal checkout. I think that's why she never came out. The guest commented himself on Jacqueline's Facebook post, and explaining this. I have the screenshot. Jason made it sound like the guest never got to enter the house and left.
I really appreciate his kindness and compassion speaking about the current owner. My thoughts were also that she must be really struggling with her mental health. While mental health does not excuse her harmful behavior towards others, and I am upset at the situation for everyone, it's still worth meeting with compassion.
I don't think mental health explains the behaviour sufficiently. There's clearly a pattern to it. She's using supernatural claims in a targeted, tactical manner. She may well have mental health issues but it seems she's also not a very nice person.
@@aarondavis8943 She's certainly not acting kindly, but I do want to mention that not all mental illnesses include/present disordered thinking. Compulsive lying due to things like delusions or paranoia (as examples) can still be applied in an organized fashion.

Thank you for talking about how the subject of the paranormal can detach people from reality, and that it can cause true harm. I grew up with psychosis as a symptom of other neurological issues, and my primary caregiver convinced me that my hallucinations were demonic and that if I just prayed more, I'd be protected by god. The unaddressed neurological issue later became life threatening, but not til after I lived in fear with hallucinations, paranoia, and delusions for years, thinking I was receiving divine punishment.

One of my favorite commentary creators did a video about this and included a clip from one of your videos. Its crazy seeing how far outside the paranormal community this has gotten.

I just started the video, I'm up to the minute twenty mark, and I've already burst out laughing. The sight of the ankle buds holding hands, barefoot, sitting on their knees on chairs with their feet hanging off... that got to me.

John, I absolutely love your ghost videos. It's so refreshing to see someone point out all the flaws and issues that I have as well. I just can't find someone who talks about this kinda stuff like you do. Love your work man.
Yup. As soon as I saw these 2 idiots on those chairs, I wondered why they even bothered to do that instead of just doing their usual stuff bare-footed, and immediately thought that it may have been because Cody's ankle popping was even more obvious when they were just standing still. Also, what a coincidence, Cody's right leg, the one people have speculated he's able to pop on command, is not directly in front of the camera during their showing of the "method"...surely, it wasn't calculated.

It would be great to see you continue this with other notorious locations with wild speculations. I am watching adults. Grown adults, in 2024 getting into verbal slap-fights and drama over wanting to pretend ghosts exist. Grown adults.. Literally screaming, threatening lawsuits, and ranting about make-believe things. And the worst thing is.. This isn't even the stupidest thing I've seen this year. This actually barely makes the top 10. Grown adults getting into drama over their pretend time isn't the even breaching number ten for me..
I used to be able to pop my ankle while standing, sitting, lying down, etc. and my foot wouldn't move. It sounded exactly like the knocks and it drove people nuts. I could also do it rapid fire. It was easiest while standing up or sitting with my feet flat on the floor as long as I had my weight on my other foot. If I was lying down or had my feet up, like in a recliner, I would have to extend my foot a little kinda like, hint hint, the way Cody has his in the video. Funny how you can't see his right ankle. You would be able to see the tendons and bone move even if his toes aren't. For a time, until I tore my ACL, I could do it with my knee if I didn't have all of my weight on it, but it was more of a popping noise. I also had a friend in high school who could make similar sounds coming from his chest without moving but even while talking. I wish I could still do it now but I'm a lot older and my body told me to fvck off.
No but for real this drama is crazy, my friend who is a Sam and Colby fan got me up to date and this shit is NUTS Im so happy you are talking about it!
7 1/2ish mins in and I legitimately worked for an older woman in a metaphysical store (like 1 years ago) say that exact shit. BUT she added that I was "a plant by her husband and was sleeping with him" First, it was her ex husband who I was 40 years younger than a had never met. She never even talked about the man. IN ADDITION this woman would sometimes forgo PAYING ME MONEY and would just give me shit from the store. I was too trusting of older grandmotherly figures at that time to think she had anything but my best interests and desires in mind. Then she locked me out of the store one morning, called me a whooare, a psychic vampire, and gave me my first job related mental breakdown that made me call the shop owner bawling my head off. She was later brought to a facility to help treat some level of psychosis after attacking police who had been requested to remove her from the premises. Older women who believe in ghosts and "angel craft" make me SUS AF now 😊

Underrated comment
Her posts heavily remind me of early Holly Colino while still in university with the paranoia and accusing others.
Yes but I do have to wonder if she is serious or "acting" to increase the notoriety of the conjuring house. For me, the ghost told me so and the "no footage released before I signed off on it" tell me it might be acting
John is just a genuine good dude. His DDLC playthrough is basically him telling the characters to seek professional help lol.
My dad used to pop his ankles to scare me at night when I was a kid and make me think there was a ghost tapping on the wall. Funny to see someone use that same trick to scam thousands.

My respect for the conjuring house is less than every positive real number.
Was about to say this too.
I wanna say 6mo without a panic attack, way better then multiple times a month but I've also become mostly a shut in and some days I'm not functional for a couple hours after waking up due to brain not always differentiating dream from reality, though I've only had a few rare instances of hallucinations so I can't imagine dealing with that frequently or on a daily basis, my totally "not" insomnia messes with my head enough
Btw, hope you're doing well, from all I've heard schizophrenia can be a real hassle and I hate how any part of humanity still exists that uses that as an insult or are otherwise pretty trash toward y'all, I've had the pleasure of meeting more then one person with that condition diagnosed and none of them were bad people.

While mental health does not excuse her harmful behavior towards others, and I am upset at the situation for everyone, it's still worth meeting with compassion.

@@Gloomcookie96 I didn’t… and I’m embarrassed 😬😅
Keep making more !! Debunking ghost videos I love them ALL
Just found your channel a few days ago. Literally been binging your vids haha. Love it!
Killed me when cody says
"Aw yeahhh, i feel it in my ankles mostly."
On John's s first debunk video
Been refreshing RUclips for days waiting for this
John I cannot stress this enough, I watch you since your sally face lets plays and I LOVE this new content so much. Each time I see you upload I grab a snack and I'm ready to go.
"ankle boy and alphabet girl" is so dumb but it makes me laugh every time
The title card coming up with the musical sting "They did it without their shoes" was unnecessarily funny
Ive had so many people turn around in my driveway before. Never realized that means im basically a baddie whos outlived dozens of assasination attemps💅
They were only programmed to do a U-Turn. They forgot to give them the knowledge to use a doorknob.

I eagerly await every video you post on this channel and this one is no different. It's always delicious content and very well made. I appreciate the effort you put in. This shareholder approves.
1000% that barn fire was insurance fraud
I am watching adults. Grown adults, in 2024 getting into verbal slap-fights and drama over wanting to pretend ghosts exist.
Grown adults.. Literally screaming, threatening lawsuits, and ranting about make-believe things.
And the worst thing is.. This isn't even the stupidest thing I've seen this year. This actually barely makes the top 10. Grown adults getting into drama over their pretend time isn't the even breaching number ten for me..
Because there's money in it. Makes people absolutely unhinged.
Definitely in the top 100 maybe 50
@@teableu yeah the money must be ungodly
End of the conjuring house?!?!....."Truuue"
Good job, John. I haven't watched many of these documentary type videos of yours, but you do them very well. I'm impressed.
No but for real this drama is crazy, my friend who is a Sam and Colby fan got me up to date and this shit is NUTS Im so happy you are talking about it!
"They did it without their shoes"
This is my new favourite without context phrase
I love a smartass with good intentions. You rock.
7 1/2ish mins in and I legitimately worked for an older woman in a metaphysical store (like 1 years ago) say that exact shit. BUT she added that I was "a plant by her husband and was sleeping with him"
First, it was her ex husband who I was 40 years younger than a had never met.
Older women who believe in ghosts and "angel craft" make me SUS AF now 😊
I am 50. I believe in ghosts. Only because I lived in a haunted house. I was raising my kids in that house and fearing for my life, and I have witnesses. Once I moved, I no longer had issues, it stayed with that house. And in no way shape or form would I treat someone like you were treated.
@@tonidill5197okay? that has nothing to do with their experience
"Ankle boy & Alphabet girl" broke me. 🤣
As a professional painter, I'm intrigued on who indeed hired the painter.
John’s ads are always so not cringy and thoughtful, then I remember he worked an office job in marketing.
