Thank you very much, Daniela, for sharing all those details on your nutrition and training before a race. And of course, for the time you invest in putting these videos out. It means a lot for people who, like me, have a mad respect for you. All the best for the rest of the year.
Just an all round superstar of the sport. Will be tuning in to watch IM SA and cheer you on. Praying you finish your final year on the top step at Nice.
It was so nice to see you and to meet you, when I saw you in the eleva at the hotel I felt like a 12 year old girl at a Taylor Swift concert, took everything I had to stay professional but was about to go on a fan nervous breakdown. It had been a privilege to see you race. Wish you nothing but the best on your new chapter in life!
Woohoo! Daniela, great effort at T100 Miami!!! You look super speedy on that bike and your running, simply Amazing! You think you could have placed a tad better? Great job, I as well am confident that you will excel very soon in the next event!! Woohoo!!
Hi Daniela, that was a lovely pre- and post-race diary from you, thanks for sharing it with us. Even though you may feel like you underperformed, I thought it was a tactically successful race from 10th on the bike to 5th - great. It's still early in the season, so good luck with your preparation for the IM SA, stay healthy, get the finishing touches for a fast race now, go for it and qualify, because the bike course in Nice is crying out for mountain goats from Switzerland - fight like a GOAT.
Thanks for sharing some of your race prep! I'd be interested in hearing about the mental side of preparing for races: do you ever have pre-race nerves, how do you mentally deal with races you know in advance will be tough (e.g. difficult weather conditions) and how do you tough it out during races when it gets difficult? Best of luck for this season 🤗👍
Great video, thanks for being so authentic & sharing insights about your race-week & nutrition prep. 🙌Congrats so far on your #T100 journey, hope it continues to develop into a successful Season for you. All the best for your upcoming IMSA🤩, I’ll be participating in the 70.3-age group race & hope to cheer you on the course as you will lap us😅. May you also find the best 🥩steak & excelent 🍷 red wine in PE, for your race week supper 🍽 , to make your time in 🇿🇦extra-special 🫶. 🤞
Daniela, thank you for putting out this video and the next ones to come. I find it very interesting to peek into the preparation and sensations around race events by one of the best to ever do it. My pre race breakfast is also white bread with tahini and honey :-) Good luck for the rest of the season!
Loved the video Daniela ! The best of the year for you, we are all cheering and waiting for see you in the highest place on podium and more importantly happy and healthy!
I wonder why you have been so hesitant over the years to do a video blog or be more active on social media. You are actually very likeable and a lot of interesting insights. Watched 3 videos and they have really changed the impression of you. You are doing a great job! Will follow along 😉
Thank you for your video!! The Tahin bread race morning sounds good - will have to try! Have you ever, as you’ve traveled the world racing, had trouble finding pre-race pasta, or a steakhouse restaurant? I imagine many cities have Italian and steakhouse restaurants, but have you ever not found one, and what did you do? Wishing you the best on your next races!! 🎉
So far i coule always find some noodles and steak. It doesnt always need to be fancy. Worst case you can take airfried noodles and put them into hot water in your hotel room or switch to rice and chicken.
Sehr schönes Video, dir hört man gerne zu. Du hast eine perfekte Selbstreflexion. Freue mich schon auf das nächste Video. Vielen Dank und vielleicht passt es Mal auf Zwift 🙏💯
Brilliant to see you creating this content, very enjoyable, inspirational and insightful, thanks 🙏 It would be great to hear if you have looked into fat oxidation and burning fat for fuel instead of, or as well as, carbohydrates? It seems to be the way endurance sports might be heading, for example Ultra running and Ironman racing (e.g. Dr Dan Plews, SIS fuels). I think I saw you say once you always train fasted in the morning but could be mistaken, perhaps this is one of the ways to get our body used to utilising fat more? Best wishes in SA and looking forward to more speed in San Francisco! 🤞
will get into that later. I do so for training, so my body can cope with loes during the longer races. But for racing i want to be able to pull from all sources and carbohydrates work the best for me.
For how long do you wear this cap (Minute 5:18) ? Seems to be a reminder or some sort lucky charm (Glücksbringer).. BTW fits you real nice :-) For your final season - thumbs up (Daumen drück) and good luck to you ;-) (-:
fantastic. Ill get delivered by first Felt bike tomorrow. I really hope it will fit me well :D Good Luck in South Africa and T100 aftewards. Be angry :-)@@danielaryf
haha i actually had Nutella and banana as a snack after lunch. I forgot to mention that in the video, but if you look close you might spot it on the table. It worked perfect. The nutrition was not the problem during my race as i felt energized😁
Grüezi wohl Daniela. A lot of road cyclists eat rice before the race. Is there a reason for you preferring bread instead, other than personal preference? Holding thumbs for you in the iron man South Africa. Uf wiederluege from Olifantsfontein, South Africa.

Hey Daniela, thanks a lot for sharing the insights - mega cool! Do you like Tahin more than Almond butter? 😊

Aree there any foods that you generally avoid in your diet?
i try to avoid foods that make me feel bad
At 3:40, can anyone make out what she is saying she has in the squeeze bottle?
Tahin was in the squeezing bottle. Thats sesame spread. Lots of energy in there😊 It‘s high in fat.
@@danielaryf Thanks! I shall now include in all my pre race food and I'll look forward to 30 more watts ;)
Such a lovely Person/Athlete ❤
Hey Daniela. Thanks for all your insights and work. Buying my first Felt bike. It seems you like them? 😊
yes i do :)
fantastic. Ill get delivered by first Felt bike tomorrow. I really hope it will fit me well :D Good Luck in South Africa and T100 aftewards. Be angry :-)@@danielaryf
Hopp Dani! :) Where is the Nutella??!!! That was the missing piece for Miami!
haha i actually had Nutella and banana as a snack after lunch. I forgot to mention that in the video, but if you look close you might spot it on the table. It worked perfect. The nutrition was not the problem during my race as i felt energized😁
Good morning Daniela - one quick question... Do you follow a plant-based diet?
a very solid race. who's the videographer ? have them interact more and ask guiding questions [that you didnt prepare in advance :)]
thanks for the input. We will definitely look to do this in the future 👌🏼
👍👌✌
Are you really drinking a glass of wine so close of the race? That's interesting.
