Robert Altman's Popeye was so grotesque and nightmarish my head canon just KNOWS it exists as the one brightly coloured section of the Eraserhead universe. You can totally picture Olive Oyl and the Radiator Lady being college roommates in that world....and there is no way Popeye didn't knock up poor Henry's girlfriend some afternoon when poor Henry was off working at the pencil factory....
As always, much appreciated. My poor watch lists are so stuffed, and here comes your next recommendations video like the waiter offering Mr. Creosote an after-dinner mint.
Watched Hunter Hunter when it was released on UHD...super underrated and little seen movie. Just great atmosphere and suspense, and that ending... Ironically, when you started talking about What Josiah Saw, Hunter Hunter instantly popped into my head, and I didn't even realize it was next on the list. 😂
Hey Mr. Ghost. Have not talked in a while... u know what i do. looking forward to you video in appox. 20 minutes. Gonna catch up. Im still here... saving lives... making regrets for those loss.
Kubrick really did a number on Shelley. She had a nervous breakdown and really wasn't the same afterwards. But oh what a performance! RIP Shelley Duvall.

You'll be glad to know that it's actually a myth that she was driven to a breakdown. Shelly denied it herself numerous times, but it never goes away for some reason.
@@timk6181Never made sense to me that she would because Jack Nicholson had to take after take with her too and he didn't crack because of it and his role was even tougher to do I would think 🤔🤷 but Yes they were both Great in this movie 🎥🙂

Because she's doing such a good job acting , people forgot she's an actress, and assumed she's really this shy and awkward woman who couldn't handle the movie. Great list! There's also some gnarly body horror to be found in the Beach House. There are at least two such images from that movie that will live forever in my head.
Thank you! Bc of shudder's price increase I cancelled it after 2 very solid years of having it. 1 maybe 2 new to me &interested in movies a month wasn't enough to justify police hike for me.
Just watched "beach house", "hunter hunter" and loved them both. 2 movies I wouldve never watched without them being repped on your channel. Thanks for all the good recommendations.
I really enjoyed Arcadian. I love how Cage has attached his names to projects in recent years, so it has weight to be green lit. And gives unknowns in the industry a chance to shine. I thought the actors playing the kids did amazingly.
I don’t have shudder, but was previewing some trailers on there. I’ve never watched your shudder list because I didn’t have the channel. The Very First video that pops up is the shudder one! It was creepy. I will say that no supernatural powers exists in real life✌🏼
The wife & I just got done watching "Hunter Hunter" & OMG, one of the most suspenseful movies we have ever sat thru!!! You KILLED it with that recommendation brother, we both agree this movie will be living with us for a long time to come, ESPECIALLY the ending!!! We still can't stop thinking about how insanely DARK & TWISTED this movie was!!!🤯
As you're mentioning Robert Patrick, I am watching "Fire In The Sky" on TV now! Also, Nick Stahl is absolutely amazing and yes, he has come a long way and its so nice to see him again. For any other Nick Stahl fans out there, please check him out in the show Carnivale. There was only 2 seasons of this show, but its definitely worth the watch. Nick is absolutely amazing in this show too! Great video Ghost Pirate! I always look forward to your Tubi lists! Appreciate ya my friend! ❤☠
Revenge reminds me of a B movie I watched one late night. Similar thing, woman attacked left for dead but kinda like the Crow shes brought back by a spirit as a undead being and goes on a revenge quest. Don't remember title but it was entertaining for what it was.
Exactly how I felt. It started off so strong and legitimately had me creeped out during that one scene where the kid is sleeping in the chair… but then it lost it. The acting didn’t help. The twins just turned kinda annoying. A real pity since I liked setting and Nic Cage was good
Thank you so much for saying what you did about directors being able to get a great performance out of their actors without being brutal or abusive. I think too often as a culture we give a pass to “genius” - particularly to men - without acknowledging the very real trauma often left in the wake of pursuing that genius. I also appreciate you saying that rape revenge films are not your thing. I’m a horror fan but I’m often conflicted about the genre and how it treats women and women’s bodies in a lot of films. I’m pretty new to your channel and dig your energy and enthusiasm. Keep being you. 🤘🏽
Man, I am so happy to see someone finally giving caveat the praise it deserves, I think it's an amazing movie that almost no one talks about, I hope now with the success of Odity it will get more on people's radar. Really great list, there are actually a few here that I never even heard of, can't wait to check them out; if they are as good as the other ones on this list, you just made my next few weeknights great.
My response to Arcadian - I LOVED IT! My only wish is that we could have seen the creatures more cause they are nothing like I've ever seen, and I've been watching horror since the 1970's. Thanks dad for introducing this genre to me as a child!!!
Beach House is really good. It moves into cosmic horror territory while still being fairly grounded. Sometimes cosmic horror baffles me with oddness and no grounded characters. The Beach House has a foundation that it builds on very well.
Kanan, have you done a video yet where you discuss the classics of horror that everyone has already seen and loves, like The Exorcist, Dracula (1931), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), Frankenstein (1931), and others? If you have, let me know where I can find it. If you haven't, please make a video like it. Thank you.
Zombie! C'mon, ya''ll seen this one already ain't ya?! Zombie vs. shark! Fulci ocular mayhem! Slow moving zombies with lingering shots of dripping and spurting blood and gore!
Watched Arcadian this week and loved it. Nic was so good, and Kainan is right, the monsters seemed kind of silly at first, but as the story moved on, they became fucking TERRIFYING! Great performances from the other 2 leads as well. Very enjoyable. Thanks as always for the great recs! You are our 'go to' for good horror.

RIP Shelly, a childhood staple. EASILY could have gotten an oscar nod twice in 1980: Popeye and the Shining!❤

Also, 100% scarier than the Shining.
Popeye was unintentionally horrific. Gave me the creeps in all the wrong ways.
@crsdu3875 I was horrified by Popeye as a cartoon, live action was too much!
Are you dumb. She couldn't act her way out a paper bag. That's why Kubrick and Jack nicholson broke her. Because she couldn't act.
