Title is the truth, you know it's bad when Doom gets nerfed harder than most supports in the patch specifically stated to address supports...
Let them make some money off their Kpop Kiriko skin first then shell be nerfed and doomfist will probably get a small buff

If it's any consolation, LW got nerfed harder than doom...even though Baptiste, Kiriko, and Illari were way better than both LW and Doom. Okay yeah, this patch sucks.

The reason Moira is good in low rank is the damage orb. It just is the easiest character to actually get some pressure on enemies, whereas most supports below diamond masters area struggle a lot to use their kit to do any offensive pressure.
You’ll see most commonly an Ana with like 1k damage 12k, or like a bap with 3k damage 15k healing. Moiras though will have like 6k damage 12k heal, or even the better ones you’ll see like 10k/10k. That’s huge
I'm maining tank atm but I had a game as Hanzo on Route 66. The enemy moira thought it was a good idea to rush me with damage orb. Two body shots and she went in just to die but the fact she was so confident was pretty funny. They're used to playing against damage dealers who can't aim properly. That was very obvious. All my lobbies always end up with moira lucio because the supports don't have faith in the dps/tanks and want to dive damage themselves.
@@williamlevy6964 yeah, to be really good at Moira, you have to learn to go deep and attack people at the right time, but yeah in the low ranks you can basically afk behind tank and just spam damage orb and you are likely the most important support in the game suddenly
I literally don't remember the last time my Kiriko lost a 1v1 to a DPS other than getting one-shot by Hanzos who were aiming at someone else and missed, which isn't even a "1v1" really, is it?
Doom nerf is silly, and you put it well; it’s already something you play around, a skill shot, we didn’t need to make it just short enough to screw him over. Remember that doom in s1 was considered the worst hero in the game and it was 1 second. .75 was fine.
I think wrecking ball got a huge nerf as sombra is now killable and with the high mobility you can punish her easily. Now the sombra has to be at least halfway decent for her to be able to counter wrecking ball. Also zen and Mei nerf is huge too, Illary and Bap nerfs are a good thing for wrecking ball as you can easily break the turrets and the final straw is that sombra doesnt have a +30% damage boost when hacked effect on your anymore so thats ultra huge. Wreckingball should def be B tier as his counterplay got nerfed.

As a Ball main I can tell you he is easily one of the best tanks especially if you are well skilled. He can do consistent damage and definitely make much needed space
Ball's my newest main as I'm learning how to play him. What makes him so deadly is he legitimately doesn't need help to dive. His speed, maneuverability and most importantly his shields allow him to soft dive abilities literally in the enemy spawn as they approach the objective leaving them with no abilities as they approach the objective for your second dive. I've literally been going 20+ elims to no deaths every game and I'm on a massive win streak. @@Antonio-ys5zd
Bastion is fine honestly. The only tanks who can't play against him are the poke tanks. If you play the brawl and dive tanks it is really easy to bait his turret form and return when he doesn't have it. Also hanzo storm arrow messes bastions up if you want a dps solution. One sonic, one regular arrow plus storm spam cancelling it destroys bastions.
He’s talking about ChoiceOW about the reaper top 500 but reaper is a solid choice for any rank as long as you can get value picks like tracer
If you want to deal with all the damage negation from the supports play hammond! I've been non stop winning against comps with life weaver, kiriko, bap and ana because all I do is frequently dive them forcing them to use their abilities on me before the fight even begins. Even if I don't finish them off myself I've noticed that my dps have been getting a lot more kills because of it.
11:17 Just an idea for the thought process of blizzard is maybe since supports have to think about the team a lot more they don’t want to make them as aim intensive. Of course that all goes out the window when illari is playing by themselves on a flank.
Thoughts on patch? Not enough changes for me. :(
Honestly, I think it's definitely not enough, but at the very least it does show that the devs aren't as ignorant as they were before. With the recent news on comp 3.0 and future changes, I really hope they are finally listening and we will soon have a playable game focused around skill. Most likely though, I am just huffing copium.
They made the wrong changes to the right characters, most of the support nerfs (especially Bap nerfs which are almost non existent) do nothing to address the actual problems. The 1 additional second on suzu CD made me laugh out loud when I first read it. Joke of a patch.
Bap, Illari and Kiri nerfs were weak and Cass and Doom nerfs just prove that Blizzard don’t play the game. I’m not the best player but I can acknowledge that these changes were weak.
I'm still not satisfied with this patch, there are some characters I feel like should have gotten buffed but didn't (Reaper) and some characters that didn't get nerfed enough to make them balanced + doom got nerfed for no reason
@@malikryan808 blizzard kiri main dev got shit on by a doom, so they nerfed him so kiriko can just TP away before doom has a chance to shoot her. Almost 100% sure this is what happened, pretty sure it's the same for the Cass nerf.
Its so weird that metro is one of the only people putting Reaper in the "Bad" tier. Like, its *too* hard to get value with Reaper, yet for some reason everyone is okay with that? Anyway, props for putting him in the proper tier.
imo he has to be out of the fight way too long because he gets wreath forced so fast, he’s very hard to position with after cooldowns get used
Almost all of these changes were meant to make tank less miserable to play. They weren’t perfect, but that was the goal across the board.
The problem is that Blizzard is bringing “DPS” characters in as “support” characters eg. Illari. She should have different support abilities and not the damage ability she has. But that is not the player’s fault.
Balance in my opinion is about making the players feel rewarded for their skill regardless of the role/hero they choose.
Unfortunately many think balance is about being favoured in 1v1ing against the class they play the least (or dont play at all).
That short sight mentality makes people forget Kiri isn't as good peeling as Lucio/Brig/Mercy, so in a meta like Winston/Dva/Tracer/Genji/Sombra, Ana+Brig would be played a lot more than Kiriko and Baptiste (it indeed was, check last OWL and part of OWWC)
Why then no one then suggests doom/tracer/Genji buffs? Because it was never about balance. It was all about "winning my 1v1", "only my tracer can flank", "only my sombra can have tp away skill"
You see Metro gets it at least. At least he sees our pain as Doomfist mains.
I think they buffed widows smg and ult because Sombra easily wipes widow now. With more spread on the smg, she can spy check more and obviously she can see sombra with her ult

anas nade should have it 9 seconds and her nade should turn off healing for 50% not 100%
And baps immort field should at least have charges that a consumed when smone is saved by it

Ana is A tier in my opinion but Metro is way better than me so I respect his opinion. Also Doom and Cass nerfs are dumb as fuck they were already some of the lowest performers in their class and they’re just making people wanna play them less, it’s stupid in my opinion.
Blizzards balance philosophy is to keep doom in F tier all the time, they accidentally made him decent with the slam buff, so they needed to get him back down to F tier.
They NEED to revert the change and allow EMP to destroy Tree of Life again. Not only is it inconsistent with other deployables ( especially hardlight constructs), but it literally has no counter outside of an ana nade.

I do not agree at all with Illyrian rating. Her reliable value is going to fall a decent amount. I think you are miffed that her hitscan weapon is not pinpoint. I get it, but she is still far more punishable than she was and her value is way less free. She’ll fall harder in mid and low-tier play, but I think you’ll see her played quite a bit less in higher-tier play as well. I’d say she’s at least fallen to A-tier.

Hanzo one shots by accident without aiming. He needs that nerfed. But ya ok supports are too OP. How do you counter against that? Just not exist? You can have the best positioning and Hanzo can get a lucky accidental kill on you and one shot you.

Sombra is not high skill she's even more of a noob pick now, u just walk up behind them hit virus and couple bullets and give ur opponent no time to react, i'd like a big nerf to virus damage so I can actually react in time to kill them. Bap and Kiriko i'd barely consider nerfed much bigger changes needed.

I still play Reaper on that Hollywood map and Dorado first point, so many good spots for him to teleport or Lurk. Pretty much every other map he's awful lol.
Lucio is the most balanced character.
Well of course Ash is better with a mercy pocket any character is. But that is a 2 vs 1 situation. Go in with 2 vs 2 and it evens out. What about this don’t you understand?

its clear you dont know how widowmaker works. ive been playing windowmaker since ow.. SMG is a HUGE SKILL GAP because most widows dont use it. i have gotten SMG POTG'S. it's not just for clean up.. you can get entire kills with SMG.
Idk what rank you are getting kills with smg consistently, but that’s just not what good widows do. It’s far more reliable to go for a scoped headshot.
@@mathiaschristensen1194 thats funny because im literally one of the best widowmakers in the game lol. i cracked a famous widowmaker streamer and even he complimented me. my SMG skills are amazing. you cant get 100 percent scope on everyone... hence why smg is important. also using SMG keeps you alive, you dont go into tunnel vision, which is the downfall on 90 percent of widowmakers. --- i have played against metro in a few death matches.. i know exactly how he plays.. he likes to stay in confined spaces and run up on you where he has the advantage. he is never fair to widowmaker in any of his videos.. ever. like i said. i have gotten SMG POTGs. ive never ever seen a widowmaker do that in all my years in OW. everyone tells me constantly to go pro. lol

@@lukasg4807 he has no respect for widowmaker because of his playstyle. he thinks widow is just this 1 shot hero. its not. widow is much deeper than that... saying that a widow shouldnt use SMG.. is just hilarious. SMG requires more skill than soldiers gun, doesnt mean you shouldnt use it. one fucking reason, so you understand why you use SMG is to see your enemies health bars.. thats a fucking given for anyone that plays widowmaker.

It's kind if comedic that he talks about Illari nerf's only going to affect "bad" Illari players, while he then goes on thrashing silver players not being able to play Kiriko, and at the same time talk about her huge kunais and that she is impossible to hit. So according to that logic, "bad" players hit every kunai, but still are unable to use suzu or tp!
Well, I who thought higher ranked players had better aim then silvers.
I see tanks doing more or equal damage, and eliminations as dps, no one is screaming for tank nerfs (unless it's Orisa), and dps never talks about their skill level.
Showing 5 supports vs 5 dps is not really fair with the existing toolkits, and depending on setups, get 5 Mercys vs 5 bastions and we'll see. Same with 5 tanks vs 5 supports, tanks will win most of the times, we are yet to see 5 dps vs 5 tanks. But dps will still cry more for losing against supports, then if they lose (they might win) against 5 tanks.
It all depends on skills, and somewhat on rank, but I've seen great Doom and LW in master/gm lobbies, even though many state that they are "useless", then what the meta is, well as usual that only goes for the absolute top 5% of the player base, and the average player are so fast to pick up what the top500 players use as meta, and trying to copy it.
If it doesn't work, something must be wrong, and everybody screams nerfs!
The game will never be perfectly balanced, and seeing how much thrash support players get, nerfing the shit out of them will only result in the same way as WoW, 20-30min que time to find supports (healers in WoW), and an even more toxic environment against supports (which is why healer player base decreased drastically in WoW). Congratulations, you've just killed the game.

I had a game against a baptiste who got 47 elims. I was playing ball and forced his cool downs over and over again and dove him over and over again but he still somehow managed to kill my team over and over again. We ended up winning that game but if I ignored the Baptiste it was a guaranteed L. I still think it was a skill issue. If my dps knew how to position properly and aim he wouldn't have been a problem. My moira dove him with me a lot and I'm pretty sure it was just me and her killing him while the dps were useless.

kiriko being "impossible to hit" is literally a skill issue.
Kiriko has the smallest hitbox in the game which makes her objectively the hardest character in the game to hit.
Her having such a tiny hitbox wouldn’t be so much of an issue if it wasn’t so easy for her to two shot most of the cast.
Skyscraper sized, bigger than Hanzo arrows, bigger than Lucio primary, bigger than Zen orbs, almost as big as Zarya secondary, 0.18 meter radius kunais are bullshit.

I'm so tired of seeing that Genji clip. "I'm gonna tunnel vision the Cass and ignore the supports completely! What? Cass didn't die? SuPpOrTs aRe oVeRpOwErEd!!!!!!!!11111" Focus supports first, it has literally always been the rule in OW. How did people forget this very basic rule?
He dives Illari and she can boop him and bounce away at the same time. He dives Kiriko and she can suzu, tp, and heal from Illari and pylon. Pylon was in a position that couldn’t be reached by Genji or his team without overextending.
Did he play blade well? Of course not. He should’ve baited cooldowns and break pylon before going in. But this leads to the point where Metro says a Genji has to play PERFECTLY to beat those who can easily beat you with a press of a button.
Brutha, 2 ults should be able to kill through healing on a squishy.
