The tyre thing is a bug, you’re the third person I’ve seen have this issue now. That kinda stuff needs to get solved before I buy this game.
Started watching this series and bro stop simulating practice. Its important the get the set ups right so you have a lower chance of crashing and a higher chance of getting a good finish. (Driver confidence)

[putting on my lab coat and pushing my glasses up my nose] cloud seeding is real, if the efficiency is a little contested, but singapore - or any F1 circuit really - is too small an area for cloud seeding to be really effective

That's where you're wrong. I managed to get a redbull and a Ferrari draft for q1. I put albon at p4 3rd race. Went downhill after that lol

Why would you set the strategy to medium/hard (or vice versa) when the strategy clearly shows that you can easily go soft/hard (or vice versa)? I could even imagine soft/medium (or vice versa) working on this track with how much tire you got left there. (I see you did medium/soft eventually anyway, which seemed like the obvious choice all along)
I gotta say though, I wonder how a bug such as not using two different tire compounds can get into a final release like that. Those seem like some very simple if/else statements that somehow get skipped, maybe when the AI decides to switch strategies during the race.
Medium/Hard would give you a much larger window during the tyre crossover to get a safety car for a cheap stop when others may have stopped. The reality is the Williams car is so slow that without a SC or rain it’s impossible to score points and so often positioning yourself to capitalise on one of those two things is the best approach. The extra life on the tyre means you can be out longer waiting out a SC rather than say doing S/M or S/H when in order to benefit from a SC you’d need it to come out in a much smaller window of laps
@@WorkTheSpace I do understand the idea behind it; however, my point was that the Medium tire was already good for >=3/5 of the race as you saw on the strategy screen, not to mention that the hard tire is considerably slower as well, so there was no reason go for a hard even if you speculate on a VSC or SC, which is also exactly what turned out to happen :).
PS: when is the next episode coming out? Can't wait to see how the saga continues :)

I don’t disagree but I’m not playing the game to min/max things, I’m playing to entertain! Sadly the current format of practice is incredibly boring and tedious to do
So do the practice off stream. I have seen others do this and it works well for entertainment purposes.
@WorkTheSpace you could always set up 1 setup, sim the Practice session, try another setup for P2 and sim it etc. Even can have your final setup change just before qually
@@johnchase7096 He's doing multiple races per stream so that wouldn't really fit in.
I get why they make practice important but I hope in future releases they reconsider how it's implemented because it is incredibly dull to grind through.

Not a massive fan of the facilities getting damaged/becoming unusable in this years game. Before I even had my first race a fire broke out in the facility responsible for developing new parts, making my research pause for 11 days when I had 2 new parts ready the day after, now instead of 2 upgrades before the first race I will not even have either one for the second race. Some bullshit right there.
I'm going to respectfully disagree since it's no longer just straightforward upgrades like last year's game. You can't just become a top top team within 1-2 seasons anymore, which is a good thing, especially for road to glory saves.

@@thrashboidjentboimusic1055 There is no guarantee this will make it more difficult, just more annoying. We don't know if this also affects the AI teams, if so then there is no difference in the ability to grow overpowered. Also, the delays only seem to be very short term things, this may impact upon a race or 2, but overall if there is a delay for growth it is minimal over the long term. The delay doesn't even seem to extend longer than an ATR period, so even if an event happened every month chances are it might not even slow down development growth, just make it so you use new components a race or 2 later, at the end of the season your car will be just as powerful. Over the years your car will still outgrow the AI unless the AI has been changed to better develop their cars.
In my game and all the playthroughs I have watched so far it has happened very early on with different issues, that makes me feel that it could and up being a common occurrence rather than an occasional mishap which is ridiculous. These issues do not happen on a regular basis in real life so using this to artificially slow down progress is a bad way to go about it anyway.
I am all for new features and adding more depth to the game, but it needs to make sense and not just be tossed in randomly.
@@AbsoleteAim You still can though, a short delay which makes you put in a new car part a race or 2 later doesn't impact upon your ability to use your entire ATR allowance every time it renews, thus you will still build an overpowered car after a couple of seasons. Unless the AI is changed where it can develop cars better that will not change.
The biggest factor in growth of development points is ATR time, not the time it takes to do the research. Making it last an extra week to 10 days every so often will not make a difference in the long run.
