- 12 year old Filipina who moved to Croatia 3 years ago sings her rendition of a Međimurje (northern part of Croatia) traditional folk song Dej Mi, Bože (Give Me, God) during her audition for Supertalent (Croatia Got Talent) receiving a standing ovation and never-ending applause. Not only that she made the judges and a lot from the audience cry but she also made history being awarded as the first ever Audience Golden Buzzer in the show.

I am from Croatia, and working with many Filipinos on cruise ships, I learned that there are no bad singers in the Philippines, and every 100th is extraordinary...Cryztel is not just an extraordinary singer, she has perfectly mastered the dialect and accent of that part of Croatia...Croatia is a small country, but we have a diverse and rich musical tradition...if she had come to another part of Croatia, she could have chosen one of the songs, but what is truly perfect, and what only life and some higher power can achieve, is that this part of Croatia (Medjimurje) has such wonderful, musically and lyrically sensitive songs that were made for her voice and performance... just perfect ...and of course we are so grateful for this girl and happy to share it with the rest of the world

This a perfect example of simple yet effective...... This is my 1st time to see an audience stood up and pushed the golden buzzer in the history of got talent i never knew audience has the power to give a golden buzzer.

I believe that the Croatian man is her stepdad, because it sounded like her mother had met him not too long ago, and that’s why they were going to Croatia where he was from. As far as her luxe, Filipinos and American Indians are both from Asiatic stock, and share similar features. I lived in the Philippines for two years back during the Vietnam war as a Navy medic in the hospital there. Very familiar with the people.

However yes, you are correct. I’m sure it’s crazy for Croatians to hear, unexpected, thus the audience buzzer.

Actually I never saw in any Got Talent version that the audience gave a golden buzzer, but she def deserved it.

This is like the other Filipinos who compete in Bulgaria who also sing acapella like this girl he sings like a folk song and he has a standing ovation too because he was able to sing the song very well with feeling...It is said that oriental people are sentimental and occidental people are dramatic which is why Filipino singers can easily translate to other countries' folk songs with feeling in songs...
4:17 I’m in the US, that’s not a Native American outfit. I am certain it’s Native or traditional Croatian. She will be singing a traditional croatian folk song that’s why she’s dressed like that.
Also, she is very Filipino 100% I think the tan skin facial features along with outfit threw you off. She said that her mom met a Croatian and that the two of them would be moving there, from the PH.
I just watched this audition this morning, and i'm sobbing!! 😭😭 i feel so happy and proud for her and i can't help but cried, from the first note of her singing all the hairs from my body gaved her a standing ovation. 😅😅😆

Chriztel is not half, she’s a full-blooded Filipina. She and her mother moved to Croatia from the Philippines since 2020 after she married her Croatian husband. Her mother’s husband is her stepfather. She still speaks Tagalog, but she’s fluent in Croatian and speaks the language very well. She and her mother have been living in Croatia for three years. The clothes she wore while singing the Međimurje folk song are called folk costumes and come from that region... every region in Croatia has its specific folk costume...😉 btw Sveti Martin na Muri (St Martin on Mura river) is a beautiful village in Medimurje... The song is not in the standard literary Croatian language but in the dialect of Medjimurje, so for example some people from Croatia, especially Dalmatia, do not understand what she is singing... Every part of Croatia, and there are quite a few, has its dialect...
