Right now, it may not seem like a big deal, because India is still leaning towards the west. However, the uncertain decisions that the west take just makes the friendship really tough.

Well this one is my new favorite version of the Russian/USSR anthem.. The music they played was so elegant and beautiful and I reacted with some feels I can't even describe.. This is probably the opposite version of the original version which more like a revolution song or a people's anthem that is so energetic and patriotic.. Both are really great, but I prefer this one..

I am not surprised Germany got this piece right, they’ve been through so much. They speak volumes of history with loss, and, yes, this music awakens a past of war. It probably stirs something for Putin, a calling. This is so beautiful, it would remind me of everything my country is and what it tries to accomplish. Part of me thinks Merkel may know this has triggered something for him. An eerily, sad and lonely, but dangerous emotion that will shake up the world. Thanks so much for the post.

That was beautiful! The bands the German government uses for these diplomatic receptions are really really good. I saw a video with the President of Germany Frank-Walther Steinmeier, and the King of the Netherlands, Willem Alexander. They were meeting outside a government building in Germany, and the band played both anthems. Honestly, I thought both men were tearing up - they both seemed deeply moved. It was fabulous. The first thing they did when they walked over to review the troops was started talking about the music. The King made a point of walking up to the conductor, and greeting him personally!

Somber but proud. Exactly the kind of sentiment the Old Guard of Russia should've looked toward the now defunct USSR with. A prideful acceptance that the glory days were over, that they had their moment in history, and it was time to help the young rebuild so they could later enter the 21st Century stronger than ever. Unfortunately, the Old Guard didn't let go of the past, leading Russia into the "wonderful" present it finds itself in today. Epic. 🤦‍♂️
