I was actually in North Greenwich on Friday after visiting my student teacher boyfriend during his half term trying to get home to Northern Ireland when the O2 ceiling came apart. I had 2 flights cancelled but luckily BA at London City got me home early Saturday morning.
Such devastation ,So sad what’s happened to the o2 arena. I hope nobody was hurt. Sadly we don’t have any control over the weather. Keep safe inside Darren. Xx❤️

As a mum of 7 children all 4 of my sons are endangering thier lives to help others I had to leave my sons and stay in a caravan with our disabled daughter so my sons could help build nightingale hospital today they have again given their all xxxx
Lucky your not on the coast Darren, some amazing waves round the uk. Think London concil need to stop cutting corners and build the 02 a permanent roof lol.
Really sad to see the O2 looking like this. Been there so many times and used to admire the building from my balcony when I lived in Royal Victoria Docks.
Just a storm, a big one. Highest windspeed was 122mph on the Isle of Wight. We do get the occasional small tornado but nothing big like in the US. Check out Big Jet TV's live stream from Heathrow to see what it was like.
We lost our hay barn in the storm, completely wrecked, roof sheets strewn all over the fields, very nearly killed a couple of people but very luckily got away unscathed, smashed their caravan right in, (we run a campsite nr rye, east sussex) . Hoping alls OK your end.
Yeah we got the storms in Australia to flooding Queensland ruined homes ,im south coast we got the rivers over flowing as i speak now .and its alot like your showing us here .its crazy .mother nature is very chaotic.
What I have seen in the news never showed the full extent like you have . My god I bet that is going to cost thousands to fix . That will be closed some time I imagine

Surprising it hadn't happened before. Its only a fabric covering after all, and only needs to get torn by a piece of flying debris. It will probably cost £10M to get repaired...temporarily.
I saw Carlos Sanatana in there, 2016. Did some IT work in Pier Walk just round the corner for TFL, one of their HQ's is there. When the David Beckham Football Academy was just about to close down. Loved the place. In fact I really do like Docklands, I think it is a very beautiful place and would like to live there, bit pricey fo me though. Thanks for keeping tabs on the O2, have gone for a walk in there at lunchtime many times.
I remember the hoo-ha over sourcing the covering from Germany when it was built, hope the company that made it is still in business and ready for a rush order!
That truly is heart wrenching, that being said as long as no one got harmed I guess we should be grateful for that. There has been loss to life and so much damage around the U.K. you would think Mother Nature would give us a break! 🥴 Stay safe Darren. Stay safe folks.

Whilst you bemoan damage to a building in London, several people have been killed by this storm across the UK. Perhaps you need to look beyond the M25 ?
As I live in California my question is reasonable - who owns this building ? Given the value of real estate there I wonder if the owners will spend the money to repair it or simple knock it down and build apartment towers in its place. Not wishing that but is this building used much ?

Thanks a lot for bringing us this. What a disaster. Doesn't sound like anyone was hurt at the O2, that's the main thing. I feel sorry for employees without jobs until the repairs take place. I don't know if you're aware of Hurricane Low Q in 1968. I was living in Kelso -- what a mess. People killed, made homeless, roofs off buildings, chimneys fallen on roads, gravestones all blown over, windows blowing in, etc. And no-one had any warning. I was in primary one at school and I've never forgotten it. But thanks again for the video. Glad you're still in one piece :)

Apparently we have more tornadoes than the USA but most are very minor and cause little harm.
